Here's a version to test ... this is a straight upgrade of the code from circa v1.2.x to circa v1.3.0.x

Still needs some testing at the attribute level.
No structural database changes, so no need to run the .sql file if you already had the old version installed. Thus, it your old data will be retained as well.

I've put it on and it works great. :)

However, the products have no attributes as I need to get attributes by stock working. Have read a lot and seen mention of it not working... will try it now.

The thing is, with retail our prices need to include VAT at 17.5%. With wholesale we need the cheaper wholesale price, with no VAT displayed until the user gets to the shopping cart.

So that's Price R, inc VAT, and price W, excluding VAT. Any ideas how I might get around this?

Yikes...no idea on that one, sorry :( I guess you would need to have a new dropdown box to enter the tax class for the wholesale pricing...that part is probably not too hard, but I'm not sure how you'd actually code it...

I think you're right in that a drop down box for wholesale pricing is the way to go.

Incase anyone else is interested I've got Dual Pricing and Stock by Attributes working side by side. I've put through a few test orders as a wholesale customer and a retail customer and both are working just great, so far! I would back up your database and all files before trying though...

With edit orders installed which works on zencart 1.3.0.2, which I found in the archived contributions when you add a product it adds it at the retail price not the wholesale price , not a big thing but just something for others to note.
This is on a test installation as these are the 2 main mods that I use and needed.

Can you give me an advice how you did that? I got all the time completely different prices if I enable the dual pricing modul. I can't recognize how zen-cart calculates the prices for the different levels such as wholesales and reseller.

I think I installed dual pricing first, and stock by attributes second. I set some prices, set some stock and put through some orders and everything looked good to me.

I've now got almost 300 entries under "Products with Attributes Stock" with two attributes (ex size and colour) and about 7 options to each. The test orders were fine with prices on some products - i'm about to do all of them and will let you know what happens.

Hope it doesn't stop working right now. :cry:

(As for VAT I'm going to code that later on. Everything is going in as excluding VAT, and I'll add it at a different stage throughout depending on the user being retail/wholesale. I'll post what I did and the code, but I'm in no way confident enough to release it as a contribution.)

Thanks for your reply. I am mostly stuck with the VAT costs and the generated prices from the module. Its confusing and I can't follow how they were calculated. My customer isn't working with attributes yet. Just one wholesale price and one or two reseller prices of each product, thats all.

Oh ok - I think I misunderstood.

I've yet to get a satifactory result from the retail inc VAT, wholesale exc VAT. I was thinking though, what would be cool is if they were the other way around. The dual price (second price) is always the same - no tax option available - so use that as retail price. Then make the normal Zen price with its tax options the wholesale one?

I'm still trying to work it out. I'm leaning towards retail price inc VAT on the Zen price, and wholesale ex VAT on the 'dual' price. Then, somehow at the checkout, add on VAT.

It's linked further up the thread I think...

I've got the dual pricing mod working so I can have retail and wholesale prices. However, retail must include VAT and wholesale must exclude VAT until the end of the process.

I have all the retail prices input inc. VAT and all the wholesale prices exc. VAT.

Basically I need to add 17.5% at the end of the process on a seperate line, and then have that VAT added to the total. I've looked through the panel and can't find a way of doing it, so was thinking of adding to the if statements. The if statements check whether customer is retail or wholesale and display the price accordingly.

Any ideas how I could do this on the price displayed while browsing and the cart total?

OK, found a bug :schmoll: When trying to copy attributes from one product to another, the following error comes up after you've chosen the product you're copying to and hit the copy to button:

1136 Column count doesn't match value count at row 1

If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

I'm bumping Bearaman's questions because I would like to know also. I've read just about every post concerning the Dual Pricing module and don't understand if a newer version is available, does it work with zc 1.3.5, and why such an important module is not part of the core.

Ah-ha, I assumed that problem had come from Stocks By Attributes mod on my 1.3.5 install.

This was inserting a new attribute though, not copying one.

Now I'm wondering if my database is at fault.

Need to get this site launched so have gone back to doing everything on 1.3.02 (the two essential mods don't work under 1.3.5). Getting the same problem with a clean 1.3.2 install, 1.3.2 database and the mods that worked on 1.3.2.

Inserting a new attribute is no problem on my site, so it may be the Stock by Attributes that is at fault in your case...
