Candied Apple V1.0

No biggie, I get that once in awhile... Especially, when I didn't have an avatar. No need to apologize. :smile:

Re: Candied Apple V1.0

Sketchy
I loved the template and am using a slightly modified version of it(without the black) but for the life of me I cannot find where to add more to the nav bar. I can see it in the source page but can't find where to put them in any of the files. AND i want to move the home part even up with those. Attached is screen shot of what i mean so hopefully I have not totally babbled on lol. I am good at that. Thanks for any help. and yes I have read for hours trying to find out how to change them but so far I haven't found a solution that is in any of the files that I can see. Please point me if you would! I particularly want to add a link to my forums.

Thanks so much.

Re: Candied Apple V1.0

Lower links, centre, are your categories i.e. view top left hand box, same.
Home is set in tpl.header.php
Align.. quickest way would be to use
Admin/Tools/EZPages for your links

Re: Candied Apple V1.0

Thanks Misty but to be honest I have no clue what you said lol. The top line links are part of the template from what I know so not sure how to change that with ezpages. Anymore clues? Thanks

Re: Candied Apple V1.0

Thank you Jojobon, I'm glad you like it.

Yes, the easiest way is to introduce your EZ pages into the navigation bar. I think I may have that mod somewhere on my desktop. Then, you could use the EZ pages to title and link to your categories/forum etc. If you would like the mod, give me a day or so to find out what's up with my host... I can't access my test store to double check if the mod is suitable for you(it was customized for a friend), I think I've been suspended for too many experimental errors within the past week or I just fried something bad. :laugh:

Re: Candied Apple V1.0

Ut oh..no frying the server--not good i so sorry :-(

K so if i create it in ezpage it will overide the one that is there then?

Yes I would like the mod when you can get it. :-)

I know some css etc but still have a long long way to go lol but i sure read and read every file in zencart rotfl. I don't always understand what it means til I use it a few times but I eventually get there.

I managed to get my forum link added in but just can't manage to move the home and forum down in line with the ones in the template or move those up to be inline with them either way..just **** about having them even steven so to speak.

Thanks so much!
Jo

Re: Candied Apple V1.0

You're welcome Jo.

`Yeah, with the mod, the EZ page links will be inline with your Home Forum deal in the navigation bar. Then, you will just have to switch off the Nav Cats(upper category links bar) in your Admin-Configuration-Layout Settings. We'll worry about that after though. If the mod will work for what you wish for... it's yours. I think it's what you're looking for. Maybe PM me your email address in case the mod ready later. I'd rather test it out first, I have to re-customize it to have all of the regular functions back in as it was made for a layout with a sidebox login mod.

That's how I started out, complete trial and error. It sure was a trial full of errors. :laugh:

Re: Candied Apple V1.0

No formal upgrade is offered on these simplistic and obsolete templates, being they are the same basic design of the new Classics

I don't advise anyone to use these anymore as there isn't anything special about them anyways. You may download them for the use of the images, but the rest is pretty much worthless now.

`However, if you have fallen in love or customized this template in which you don't want to give up on... you may be able to sweet talk me into something. :ohmy:

Re: Candied Apple V1.0

I'm trying to change the background color of this template (which is gray-black), and also change the page width a little wider. I can't find where in the stylesheet to do those changes, I changed background-color to ffffff in this part:

body {
        margin: 0px;
	font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
	font-size: 70%;
	color: #990000;
	background-color: #282828;
       }

but it did nothing. For the width, I thought maybe it was in this part:

/*wrappers - page or section containers*/
#mainWrapper {
	background-color: #ffffff;
	text-align: left;
	border: 1px solid #990000;
	width: 750px;
	vertical-align: top;
	}

but it did nothing.

Re: Candied Apple V1.0

Have you by any chance made a backup copy of the CSS and left it in the css directory? If so, move it out of there, or rename it to that the extension is .bak rather than .css.

Hi, the only files in my /includes/templates/candied_apple/css are:
CSS_read_me.txt
print_stylesheet.css
stylesheet.css
stylesheet_css_buttons.css

I don't understand why my changes aren't working.
Thanks for trying to help me.

Re: Candied Apple V1.0

What you are trying to do should work. Do you have a link to the site so that we may see its recalcitrance first hand?

Re: Candied Apple V1.0

Occasionally browsers seem to fail to pick up on small changes to CSS files and continue to use the old version until it gets flushed. Never really understood why, but glad to hear it's working for you now.

Re: Candied Apple V1.0

I'm sure I can find this if I continue to look tried a few things that didn't work I would like to get rid of the logo.gif so it doesn't show up at all.

Any ideas?

I love the template. I darken the red just a bit but otherwise it works great for me

Re: Candied Apple V1.0

I tried that last night but if you look soon LOL

https://www.diginewsnow.com/store

You will see it also takes away my header (I only want the logo.gif gone) and it shifts most of it over to the left

Re: Candied Apple V1.0

Well I kinda cheated...I just made the image a 1pixel by 1pixel square and it blends in with my header.
