Ultimate SEO URLs

realforever, I guess I don't see / understand the problem.

An SE bot is not going to be changing languages, it will use / see whatever is set for Default Language, and anyone visiting your site is not going to care what the URL says because they will be using the links on your site.

Although it can be said that USEO is not working the way one would think it should, when changing Languages back-n-forth, I don't see where it would cause problems for SEO usage; which is really what it is intended for.

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

I'm getting this error for every page:

Warning: preg_replace() [function.preg-replace]: Empty regular expression in ... includes/init_includes/init_ssu.php on line **75
**
Any ideas?

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Ah, got it...

$mr = trim(($this->catalog_dir=='' && empty($this->extension)) ? getenv('REQUEST_URI') : preg_replace($mr_regex,'',getenv('REQUEST_URI'), 1),'/');

Took out the slash from $this->catalog_dir=='/'

Unfortunately, when you have multiple sites set up on godaddy, if you use a slash to indicate your root directory, it thinks you mean the account root directory and not the site directory.

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

The "Ultimate SEO URLs" add-on seems unstable. Are there any other alternatives that are more stable? Is maybe "Simple SEO URL" more stable or stable enough?

I tried the W3C HTML-validator and found out that it complains about the URLs created by ZenCart. Is there any way to fix this? I don't have any SEO-add-ons installed on my ZenCart-site.

Is it right that such validation errors might affect your PR negatively?

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Hi guys,

I get some error when using Firefox to access my shop. The error message is "The page isn't redirecting properly...". My shop is a multilingual one and I get this error only with Firefox when accessing to the spanish pages for instance...

It works fine with IE.

Thanks for any input

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Hiiii alll.......

Please see, if anyone can help me.....

My Zc version is 1.3.8

I have installed USU 2-106.

I have installed all the files as given in the installation process.

Now my problem is that, when i try to open any of the product/category pages, it shows

http://idnovo.com/impact_cosmetics/finefragrances-c-8.html

My root folder is in a host directory, now what would be my rewrite path in .htaccess file.

RewriteBase /www.idnovo.com/impact_cosmetics/

OR

RewriteBase /www.idnovo.com/

OR

RewriteBase /

OR is it possible that this problem is because of some other reason.

Please help.... i am in a great need.....

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure that I can help you, but I think your rewrite base should be:
RewriteBase /idnovo.com/

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

I've had this mod installed for a while now and its been working great. What I'd like to know is if it's possible at all to make the EZ-Pages SEO friendly. Having searched this thread, I've seen this question asked several times but I don't remember seeing any definitive answers. I only have about 10 EZ-Pages so even if there's a manual way of doing it for each page, that would be fine. If this isn't possible, do any of the other mods do this? Thanks.

Doesn't support EZ-Pages, but have a look at this. This SEO Mod has tons of features.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've just been spending some time comparing the three different mods. I have to admit I'm a bit unsure which one to choose; they all seem to have their pros and cons. This is for another site btw, otherwise I would almost certainly stick with what I have. Could you pls provide an example of what an EZ-Page URL would look like when using the Magic SEO URL mod? I think this will help make up my mind.

Yes. I created the PHP file and placed it in the root. Is that all I had to do?

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

It is also necessary to run it (open it in your web browser). After you do so, you can delete this file.

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

latest version seems to be in Spanish?

"Activar las direcciones SEO?"
I changed the text to English, in seo_install.php but it's still in Spanish!

Any idea how I can sort this?
