Manufacturer Sidebox as List

How can I change the manufacturer sidebox to be formatted as a list (like the categories sidebox)?

It's currently a scrolling list and doesn't display many values.

You have two choices, either increase the size of the scrolling list via Admin > Configuration > Maximum Values > Manufacturers List - Scroll Box Size/Style, or change the tpl_manufacturers_select.php sidebox template to work in the same way as the categories list (which is much, much easier than it sounds). As I did this for a site a few months, I'll post the code in the downloads section.

It works perfect!

Do you also know how I can change the background color from this manufacturers list to white. I also want this for the categories menu and for the right sidebox.

You would remove the color that has been added to the left and right columns in your stylesheet (line 493) and marked in red below> #navColumnOne, #navColumnTwo {

background-color:#FAFAFA;
padding:10px;

}
