Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Great Addon!!!

I have a strange problem on mobile devices only. I am using the responsive_classic template and ZC1.5.5a, and when an image is selected all the links in my custom menu are displayed as text with no css on the page. Works perfectly on my desktop. My website is: http://allmart.ca.

You have a partial white page, which means there are errors in your code. This also means that there are debug logs created. Please post the contents of the latest file.> allmart:

this log "only" contains warnings. The should be dealt with, but are not responsible for the white page. There are probably other files reporting an error.

I have deleted all the log files in my logs directory and the only files that are present are similar to the link already sent with a PHP warning referring to my All Products pages. I used my mobile device and tried selecting an image and although the page is displayed without any CSS, no log is created.

I have discovered that the issue is with my custom menu, which only appears in desktop mode and gets hidden in mobile through css. Here is a link to one of my products. http://www.allmart.ca/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=463. If selecting the image on a desktop, Lightbox works perfectly but on a mobile device or in mobile emulation which I use Chrome, all the links in my custom menu appear on a new page. I don't have this issue if I disable Lightbox.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

it seems that the latest version does not support zc1.5.5b with responsive_class template? i just tested and installed the latest version, on desktop it works well without any problems, but when i switch to mobile user agent, it shows connecting..., waiting for localhost in status bar, seems like no css or js is loaded, i checked log folder, no errors caused.

anyone knows how to solve this?

Based on the history of this plugin and what it is/was built on, it is unlikely that there is a solution that would work properly in zc 1.5.5. There is an alternative plugin that offers equivalent functionality and has been supported/is supportable. Please see the following referenced post to find where that plugin is located. This post was on the previous page, but apparently overlooked. The reasons for it no longer being supported are not too far before that, but it is based on the lack of further support on the code that makes it possible for this plugin to do what it did so well.

Will continue to try to troubleshoot but again as described in this thread zen lightbox as provided for this plugin is built on software that doesn't work on the more recent javascript/jquery. I seem to recall that the zen colorbox software that worked was available on github, but I'd have to get to it and test it out to offer much further help. I'm aware that there is a condition that can occur if TPP is installed where the text of images comes out wrong, and there appears to be an issue with Image Handler version 4 addressed on github in the issues section related to javascript, but haven't seen the issue described in the text above and haven't gone to your site (if provided) to see what is going on.

When I was merging files I had minor changes as hidden, but those minor changes included html commenting that is added to/included in includes\templates\YOUR_TEMPLATE\templates\tpl_modules_main_product_image.php. I missed an important merge line and therefore the code wasn't working. Anyways, sorry to have hijacked this thread about zen lightbox, but colorbox remains fully functional without having to use older versions of javascript/jquery etc... (Perhaps best summarized here by DivaVocals: https://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.php?45314-Zen-Lightbox-addon-Support-Thread&p=1249039#post1249039 I basically stopped searching for the minute details after finding that particular post.)

Additional images display perfectly in the lightbox, but do not show up after I turn off lightbox from admin.

Do I need to completely delete the plugin files from the server? I'd like to keep those files (not just a few) in order to be flexible.

Has anybody ever tried that way? Maybe I made a mistake somewhere inadvertently.

When a problem is found with a plugin, it is advised to review the forum thread for that plugin. It would help to read the last couple of pages at least. Doing that should have identified that this plugin is no longer supported but equivalent functionality is available through another plugin. That plugin is Zen Colorbox.

Please read back about the issues as to why no longer supported...

So, why doesn't anyone go update the old Lightbox Plugin page to indicate that it doesn't work for newer versions, and that there's an alternate for a newer version of Zencart?

Right, there's not much to update for something that works across the versions. Starting around this thread: https://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.php?45314-Zen-Lightbox-addon-Support-Thread&p=1236553#post1236553 the issues with the javascript are described. Now I've tried to look elsewhere/further for any more of a centralized discussion, possibly outside this thread, but as pointed out a page or so ago by lat9, there was a cap on full functionality based on jquery version. After a certain point it just didn't work anymore and the issues seen/described here were identified. That was back in 2013/2014. After repeatedly suggesting redirection to colorbox which I have used the latest found on github with a minor modification to successfully install to a ZC responsive 1.5.5 site.

Niestudio did his homework and testing. He supported both plugins and had identified that it was not worth continuing to develop/modify this module because the base of the functionality was not being worked on/expanded and colorbox base javascript was.

I've reviewed many pages but really could not find the same problem that I am facing.

My zen 1.5.4, image handler 4 v432 with lightbox 1.6.5 or 1.6.4 (tried both versions) running at Xampp. I first installed image handler and then installed lightbox.

When I click the image (main product or additional image), about 1/5 chance that the image didn't display normally. i.e. there is no "next" "prev" "close" button at the image but a magnifier cursor that is able to zoom in/out when clicking image. Even refreshing page, no any change at all and I hanged at that page. I can return to product page only by clicking the backward key!

I’ve tried several times to install both version ( lightbox 1.65 or 1.64). But the problem is the same. And there is no error message in error logs.

HTML validation errors can prevent javascript operation as well can poorly written/incompatible javascript.

I changed to another template and no such problem! Maybe I should not use that template anymore.

When I used Abagon template (free version), after installing IH and lightbox, everything was good. But install with other template like HOPE or paid version of Abagon, the problem came out!

I found that the URL is "http://localhost/zcart154hope/images/ch34816/ch34816.jpg" instead of "http://localhost/zcart154hope/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_2_3&products_id=1&zenid=8r3mnnou420a5sd9sji8tui1l4" when lightbox improperly displaying.
