Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Lightbox works really well for me in unison with IH2.
I maintain only one size of images (LARGE), and keep them in the main /images folder. The folder that _LRG and _MED are in, but NOT _LRG or _MED.

Lightbox finds them just fine and they display at whatever size they happen to be. It really works great.

To have additional images for Photo.jpg for example:
Photo_01.jpg
Photo_02.jpg
etc...

Simply create the images, and move them into the /images folder.
Then when you define the product in admin>categories>products
click the browse button, point to the photo in the /image folder that you want to be the main image, and lightbox will do the rest.
I assume it does so based on the part of the name to the left of the underscore.

I can't imagine this being any clearer.

IH2 can come with its fair share of problems. I would really look into learning how to use your own optimized images. I know lots of people love IH2 and thats cool, but its good to learn to do it yourself. I use IH2 now but in my current builds, I am going to do without in the future I think.

Just a word of caution to look into it for yourself, many people love IH2, so don't get me wrong.

And I am not complaining don’t get me wrong, just that’ I picked up think abut it kind of on the move , I didn’t even know that I could use addition picture until I saw on one of my picture Next, and most that responded, assuming you a minimum a web programmer ( lol) :smile:
Ty for “step by step” , that’s what us the beginner need
I am not asking to be told step by step on any issue, but it will be nice if the referee me to a link with it like goodspeed did .

This is how it work for me ( for other to read)

My main picture called UglyGlove.jpg the 2nd picture called UglyGlove_00_LRG.jpg

I insert UglyGlove.jpg from Admin/Catalog/Product than I named and transfer the UglyGlove_00_LRG.jpg thru my FTF to the main image category ( not to the large folder) and wualla it work.:clap:

While posting it I I delete one picture I thought was not needed after carefully and test it in many ways the only way I am able to have it work is having total of 3 pictures to show 2 on my site and this is the order

In image folder UglyGlove.jpg via admin
In Image folder UglyGlove_00.jpg via FTF
In large folder under image UglyGlove_00_LRG.jpg via FTF

If I want to show 3 pictures for 200 items, that mean 600 pictures

It could be something wrong with my installation or setting, never mind abut me I will figure it out I am on the right direction now thanks to all of you

IH2=ImageHandler 2 will solve this for you. Visit the IH2 support thread to learn more (see the sticky i the "All Other Contributions" support forum board).

BTW, please avoid applying font style to your full posts as it makes difficult to reply. Best to use type styling only to highlight specific text in your posts (e.g. bold, color red, etc) but not apply to full body of post.

I am not the right person to help you , as I don’t know much I am in learning stage.
But…
Looking at your pictures, and again It may be ok doing so, isn’t it too long for a name?

I think this picture should have been the one with out the _LRG http://www.your-digital-dream.com/ZenCart/images/large/TSIMS_Magno-Words_LRG.jpg

In your admin you should have upload the one with out it TSIMS_Magno-Words.jpg , and it dose look to me as you upload the next one ( _LRG) my understanding is what you upload or at least the last one you do is what will appear as on the main picture.
And from what I saw all your pictures set that way

Also I am not sure abut gif picture if the work with it

Do you have scripting enabled in your browser, or blocked by your firewall or by any other security application?

Did you try viewing in Firefox?

Best to check your sites in two browsers (or more) so you can compare the rendering of your websites.

There are 48 pages of posts...can someone tell me what page to read if its possible to add more then one image to the lightbox? The Zen Cart I am working on, is for Fly Fishing Rods and the rodmaker (my dad) has more then one shot of each rod. Any assistance is appreciated!

admin>configuration>images>Product Info - Number of Additional Images per Row
make sure this is set to something besides 0

admin>catalog>product types>product general......edit layout (right sidebox)Show Product Additional Images......set to 1

Ok I followed these directions, added a total of 5 images (it was already set to 3) and made sure that additional images was set to true (or 1) in the edit layout.

Now my problem is, when I go back to upload the product images, there is no place to upload the additional images? Only the original browse area with the photo that is already there.

I tried uploading the other images there, but it overwrote the original image even after I marked do not overwrite.

Can anyone assist me?

If I read you correct you trying uploading the addition from your admin, if so it is not the right place
The addition image should be upload from FTF, and if you follow Zin instruction, and it not working, try it the way I did, it work for me. Instruction

Yes Motti is correct you ftp the additional images to the server. There is no tool in the admin for adding the additional images......though it would be nice to have one wouldn't it.........hmmmm

No my question is WHERE do I upload the additional images to? I figured I used the FTP - just need to know where.

Hi I test and it work for me for 1 additional image, I did not try yet to do more, as I am working on my site now

This is how it work for me

picture.jpg from admin

In /public_html/your_store/images/ picture_00.jpg From FTF
In /public_html/your_store/images/large/ picture _00_LRG.jpg from FTF

And I assume for your next pictures you do it like this
In /public_html/your_store/images/ picture_01.jpg From FTF
In /public_html/your_store/images/large/ picture _01_LRG.jpg from FTF

If it doesn’t work double check in your FTF folder you got your picture set like that
In image you should have 2 pictures picture.jpg & picture_00.jpg
in large one picture picture _00_LRG.

When I say FTFi mean web file transfer program (sorry for my English) , I use filezila for Transferring file aka drag and drop file from my computer to the server , I just don’t get the protocol word , lol
