Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

neunetllc.com:

1 hey g clef your 'blog latest posts' box is a 404... has wordpress been good to you otherwise?

2 how long did it take to get your lightbox shining?

  1. yes i know :( for some reason that posts url is wrong after wordpress it is a /? instead of a & and so it doesnt call right, ive tried reinstalling and alas it did not solve it, things were called right before i upgraded, so im not sure what went bonkers. OTHER than that, lol, yes it has worked well, she (the site owner) doesnt post much, but workpress has been very easy to use.

  2. once we got the newest update for lightbox i had it running correctly in less than 5mins. i love it! it looks so awesome.

thinkhtpc:

Ok, I'm becoming a quick fan of zen-cart, image-handler, and the light box.

I've installed all three, but I don't seem to have the lightbox working properly..

I've followed the instructions to the best of my abilities for image-handler and light box... are they a necessary combination? what is the best way to troubleshoot my problems?

you can see my site here: http://www.thinkHTPC.com

Would LOVE any help that is out there.

Thanks!

did you upload lightbox last? i THINK they share a file or two, and unless lightbox goes in last, your not going to get all the right things called....

i dont have any idea, thats just my stab in the dark... my site runs both ih2 and lightbox and it works very well.

etoile03:

ok. just finished installing and it works great. but, i'm noticing that if i scroll down my browser a bit and then click to see the image, the black doesn't cover completely to the bottom. but, if i leave the browser scrolled all the way to the top, the black does completely cover everything. anyone notice this too, or is it something with my site?

Do you have a link to your site? Other people have reported the same problem, which I beleive is due to a stylesheet setting.

I can't see the lightbox at all on your site! :(

Is that the problem? If not, what is?

Ok, I see a gap around 5px at the bottom. Could you post your stylesheet (maybe attach it to a post)?

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Sorry alex, Left Hand Side ;). Just add something t the cart and watch.
I may not be a lightbox issue - i have changed the code so that the sidebox displays pic instead of just links... it may be in there somewhere.

I dont think Lightbox modifies any of the sidebox files does it?

Thanks again
Rowan

No sideboxes are modified.

I'll have another look at your site and post back. :)

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Ive just tested lightbox and I am really hoping that what I am experiancing is not the norm.

Unless you wait for the page to open fully then lightbox does not work and instead the image will load in the same window full screen.

A normal reaction from a user would be to close the window. They are then out of your site - customer lost!!!

I hope I am being dumb! Can this be prevented?

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

can you please post a link to your site so we may see what it is doing...

mine opens on top of my main page, but its really a floating page, so when they click on it and close the image it goes back to the main page....

Thanks for posting this. I think someone else mentioned this earlier in the thread.

At the moment the page must be loaded before the lightbox will be displayed. So yes, images will open in the same window if the lightbox js file has not loaded.

I was actually thinking about this last night and will be releasing a small update soon to combat this issue.

I'll work on this asap and get a new release up soon. :)

Actually your site suffers from this very badly, your site takes a very long time to load. As such your users will experiance this problem.

But I would be suprised if anyone makes it to a product info page. Ive not sat around long enough to wait for a full page on your website to load so I could not really comment on your design - but you really should consider less is more!

Perhaps if you cleared your cache or have a look at your site on a different computer you would see that you have a lot of hard work to do! We are not all on 8mb broadband!

Alex if you sorted this problem I think this module would be awsume!!! Ive just put it on my test site and it really is classy - adds so much to it. I will owe you big style if you can fix this.

Thanks for your hardwork - :D

Every second that a your website takes to load you lose 10% of internet surfers.

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Who's site are you referring to?

The 'G Clef Jewelry' site loads normally for me, less than 5 seconds using Mozilla or IE 6.

The learning is in the doing.

i clear my cache constatly to make sure css changes take effect, so im not sure why its loading slow for you.

and i test my site on three diffrent computers, one w/ XP, two with osX, personally and i have a few people that i call to test it too, none of which have any issues pulling up my site.

i HAVE had issues with my host being slow, i have had to call and bitch at them more than once because my site slowed down to a crawl...

Re: Zen Lightbox addon [Support Thread]

Alex,

Were you able to take a look at my site? Any suggestions to changes that need to be made in my CSS to fix the bottom not being covered?
