ccbyfax (aka fax/phone payment)

Anyone with a recent update of ccbyfax (aka fax/phone payment) module that has been tested with Zen Cart v.1.36?

Maybe Merlin has an update or possibly the last ccbyfax version that he updated (w/o version number but labeled 1.3 compliant and dated 03-31-06) works fine with Zen Cart v.1.36? But I don't see any download area on camelot-hosting.com website as was previously available.

I also see hipctech.com is no more.

I have it installed in 1.3.6 and the module is working fine.

Yes I downloaded/installed on ZC v.1.36 and the mod works out-of-the box, just like on previous 1.3x versions. Thanks Merlin.

I'm using this mod on Zen Cart 1.37. Yes it still works out of the box with a little clean-up on the checkout success page. (be sure to merge in the relevant mod code into the 1.37 template code).

To make it easy on a shopowner, so the cc authorization can be made over the phone without needing to lookup order details in Zen Cart admin beforehand, I'm considering adapting the above mod to include order details on the fax form (with products ordered, item prices, subtotal, discounts and grand total prices).

I've already updated the fax form layout quite substantially and looks good and fits on one page.

Any thoughts or recommends before I embark on adding the order details idea? Or anyone already do something like this?

Merlin is this still available from your site as the links no longer follow through.

Woody did you do any more tweaks. I am using the old module on the old version of Zen.

Rapidly trying to get up graded too the new version. Would be a great help if you could make a link available to this mod please.

I have installed this module - on 1.3.7. Seems to work fine EXCEPT for the fact that on the confirmation email it says click link to print fax form etc but there is no link on the email? And no fax form that i can find? Could anyone enlighten me?

Sounds as if you may have not completely merged in the code from the tpl_checkout_success_default.php bundled with the mod to your "custom override" checkout_success_default template file.

Also be sure to upload other mod files to your template_default directory.

Hi Thanks for that!

I found i hadnt renamed the template directory in the upload - i have a custom template on. It now works fine - button shows on checkout success page (although internet explorer throws a wobbler over active x controls) but if you click on the browser print button it works. I have noticed that on the acknowledgement email the link still does not appear and i cant find any specific reason why - any idea at all?

Do you mean the Zen Cart "New Order" confirmation email message sent to customer?

The email message should include a link (URL) to customers "MyAccount" area.

Anyway, ive realised that this missing link is in fact not due to the module but, for reasons long forgotten, I did actually remove this from the email - unfortunately i cannot now remember how I did it or even how to correct it! But like i said, its not the fault of the module - I do believe that is doing everything it should do

The link in the default email points to customers "My Account". After customer logs in they will see their account order history where they can then click a button to view their order. If ccbyfax payment method was used to submit the order then customer will see a "print fax form" button which can then be clicked to view the fax form (which can then be printed). (or if a download product was ordered can click a download button to download their order).

Of course can also do this via the checkout_success page when the order is submitted.

Yep that is certainly the one. As i said, I managed to remove that link from the email once (for some forgotten reason) - now I cant remember how to put it back in :cry:

I did have a problem with the print button on the popup form throwing my
IE7 into a bit of a tantrum regarding unsafe active x controls etc - so i took off the print button and put in text saying 'click your borwsers print buttton' it then worked fine when i tested it. Hoping to bring it all live at some point today once ive given my fax machine a kick and convinced it that it really does want to feed paper!

I just installed this contribution and it works on testing but I see that the only way for the client to print the form is during the Order Confirmation page.

Is there any way to add a link to the printable form to the confirmation e-mail or to the order information in the account page?
