PurpleShades Support Thread

Hi, thanks for your template!

I have a problem with the new version of Purpleshades...

In Internet Explorer the Featured box in the bottom dont work correctly...

Can you see my site in http://boutique.dreamhosters.com/loja/

In Firefox Mozilla it is ok!

OBS: The site is in portuguese.

I have other question...

In the new version when you enter in any category you see this:

http://boutique.dreamhosters.com/new.gif

and in the old version you see this:

http://boutique.dreamhosters.com/old.gif

The old version has much better look, it is something wrong with my shop?

Thanks for all!

Re: PurpleShades Support Thread

I'm sorry this has nothing to do with the above question. I do however have some background images available for the Purple Shades Template. I have them in a zip file, free to anyone who wants them.
Here are two examples of the ones I used:
http://www.hotstuffleatherandlace.net/sexy-leather/index.php
or
http://www.hotstuffleatherandlace.com/newshop/index.php

You can download the zip at:
http://www.hotstuffleatherandlace.net/sexy-leather/temp/Backgrounds.zip

Some are animated, some are gradients.
When you unzip the file you will see these folders:
AnimatedBlackStar
BlackSkyPurpleCluster
PupleGradientCenterOut
PurpleSkywStars
RedStarAnimated
StaryNight

Each folder contains one hatch_bg.gif already named to be uploaded to yourshop/includes/templates/purpleshades/images

Use them if you want.
Thanks for this template... it's awesome!

Re: PurpleShades Support Thread

Why not just donate £2.50 to the zenhelp project and buy the source fireworks file?

You are welcome by the way :)

Oh wait.. I think I know.. is fireworks the graphic program you used? I don't use it so, I don't think it will help me, although I do donate :)

Re: PurpleShades Support Thread

I am using Purple Shades and truly love it.
I do have a few issues (self-induced!) though.

  1. I want to remove all the sections making up the header and go with one full width banner. What do I need to do to make this happen?

  2. Also I have an image at the bottom of my page (footer postion 1 or 2, I think) I would like to remove this. The image is my version of the no_image.gif. I think I deleted the ZenCart logo that was supposed to be in this footer position and it was replaced with this image.

I guess what I am asking is how do I remove this (banner?) footer section from my website?

  1. Can I remove the IP address from the footer? I changed the status in admin, but it still shows up

  2. Can I center the text in the footer (copyright info)?

Sorry for so many questions. :blush:

I PROMISE, CROSS MY HEART, I won't have to ask any more questions about this template.

Re: PurpleShades Support Thread

How did you get your category tabs in your footer.. that is throwing everything out of whack down there. To deactivate all banners, go to Admin> Tools> Banner Manager and click any green buttons to turn them to red. Not sure about your footer stuff, you had to have changed something.

To change to a single banner across the head you will need to alter your CSS file in purpleshades stylesheet.css.

You can create a banner called hdr_bg.gif and replace the file in your images. The hatch_bg.gif is your background.
I will need to check.. but, I think there is something else you have to change in the css, and in one of the php files to display one banner across top.

Re: PurpleShades Support Thread

You may try going to Admin-> Configuration-> Layout settings and turn off the categories-tabs menu off...

Re: PurpleShades Support Thread

Oh before you change to one image across top, you will have to understand that not everybody uses the same screen resolution. When they resize the window one image doesn't work well. That's why they have a small image as a background and a wrapper, that repeats for large displays, and so that the window will resize well.

Re: PurpleShades Support Thread

charmedbytina2,

You actually have the table based version of this template originally (most recently) offered by JollyJim....

This thread was placed here explicitly for the later template authored by myself along with collaboration with several others that does not use any additional tables.

It is available in the downloads/templates section if you might be interested in looking at it, I believe that there is another thread here for the template that you currently have

Re: PurpleShades Support Thread

LOL Figster!

Kobra - I have the new version (YEAH!). Now how do I fix the nav bar so that all my categories are in the same bar and "clickable".

:hug:I appreciate your patience!

Also - I just want one banner across the top!

Re: PurpleShades Support Thread

Do not recall what you had for an image???

but try adjusting this in the style sheet with your image name and height etc

#logoWrapper{
    background-image: url(../images/hdr_bg.gif);

For the cat tabs in the stylesheet take this:

#navMainWrapper, #navSuppWrapper, #navCatTabsWrapper {
	background-image: url(../images/nav_bg.gif);
    background-repeat: repeat-x;
    background-color: #f5f5d6;
    height: 59px !important;
    margin: 0em;
	background-color: #ffffff;
	font-weight: bold;
	color: #ffffff;
	height: 1%;
	width: 100%;
	}

and seperate the navcattabswrapper like this removing the 59px line and I think that this will do it:

#navMainWrapper, #navSuppWrapper {
   background-image: url(../images/nav_bg.gif);
   background-repeat: repeat-x;
   background-color: #f5f5d6;
   height: 59px !important;
   margin: 0em;
   background-color: #ffffff;
   font-weight: bold;
   color: #ffffff;
   height: 1%;
   width: 100%;
   }
#navCatTabsWrapper {
   background-image: url(../images/nav_bg.gif);
   background-repeat: repeat;
   background-color: #f5f5d6;
   margin: 0em;
   background-color: #ffffff;
   font-weight: bold;
   color: #ffffff;
   height: 1%;
   width: 100%;
   }

Re: PurpleShades Support Thread

Kobra, thanks again!

I implemented your suggestions and this is the result.

http://charmedbytina.com

I'm going to find the instructions posted earlier to move the bar with the date, log in, etc... info over the banner I added.

How can I get the bottom border on the new bar just set up?

Tina

PS I owe ya big for this!:wub:

Re: PurpleShades Support Thread

Has anyone figured out a simple solution to having different headers on each page according to it's category? So if someone clicks on a shirt category, the header image would be different than say the pants category. I'm using the Purple Shades template and I have the current Zencart version.

Thanks for your help.

Re: PurpleShades Support Thread

Robbyn7,

While not actually a "Purple_Shades" issue I can point you in the correct direction and you can search the reset of the sirte for other solutions:

Have a look at the readme in the /template/css folder as it covers different stylesheets by several different criteria. And using this you can alter the header background and other background images per page, per category, per whatever
