Lavender Template Support Thread

chummum:

Hi Kobra,

Tks for a fantastic template, I am a real newbie but I managed to install it correctly!! :clap:
One problem I have is I replaced the header Logo.gif
but the width seems too long when viewed in 800x600 resolution and too short when viewed at 1024X768. What is the width of the Logo needed and is there a way to make it appear 100% when viewed at any resolution? I have trawled the forum but can't seem to find any answer to this :wacko:
Testsite is here : http://blingbadge.co.uk/testsite/index.php

Thanks !!

To add on, I can't find this folderKuroi was talking about...
"And in addition to Kobra's advice above, you will need to change your includes/languages/english/lavender/header.php file to reflect your logo's new dimensions."

The lavender folder is not there but the classic is.

Thanks

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

chummum,

Your so called logo is 828 px wide and is static so at either res it does not fit into a template that is fluid,

You can see if you like the template as a fixed width by altering the width in the stylesheet.css for the template to 828px

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

KRahall,

I see know it should be open to the admin page.
Not what I meant if you are now opening the admin folder...

It should be the root of your shop - where you can see the folders - includes - images - pub - cache - and the admin folder

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

Hi Kobra

Thx for the speedy reply. I can redo the logo. What size or format must I have it in to ensure that it can be used for this fluid template.
I also can't seem to find this folder that Kuroi mentioned "includes/languages/english/lavender/header.php file " ???

Thanks ! You are a Godsend :)

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

Usually a logo is a small 100-300 px wide image like one that would be on a business card etc. and either left or center aligned on the web.

The remainder can be applied as a background image via css to the #logoWrapper tag. This can be a narrow 5-30px wide tile that repeats horizontally in your case I would rethink this and create a logo that represents your company and determine how else you want to use the auto and flag images

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

Thank you cobra for your help. I did get this template to install, however I cannot get my logo to show up in the top header to replace the words "lavender template" I created my logo and saved in both my custom folder and in the images folder for lavender. It shows up right next to yours in the image folder. I have uploaded it and can see it in the images folder.

I added the css style changes to my stylesheet:

#logoWrapper{
width:760px;
height: 110px;
background-image:url(.../images/mylogo);
background-repeat:no-repeat;
}

but still I cannot change the heading.

please let me know what else I need to do.

thank You

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

yellow,

still confused. I do not get the blank page for classic, I must have done something to this template. I can switch over the classic and everything is viewing fine. I have no idea what a syntax is, my file showed no errors when uploading and I am using file zilla.

Why can I not delete the lavender file and reuuploaded it, I have done that 3 times and still nothing?:lamo:

That's why you need to enable the debug mode to see what kind of error you have.

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

Yellow,

Ok, if I did it correctly this is my error code:

[08-May-2008 08:30:33] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/greedyda/public_html/kimscraftyscraps/SHOPPINTCART/includes/languages/english/header.php on line 22

What should I do now to fix this?

Thanks

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

I have read and reread all the articles, it seems I cannot get a straight answer and/or help. I have once again deleted the entire lavender template from the website. I try to reupload and it says it is there, now it does not even show loaded. i guess I will look eslewhere for a template. It seems only some people can help with step by step instructions but not me:flex::(

"it" what states that it is there?
"it" what does not even show loaded?

Please you need to be distinct as we do not know what "it" is..

For your T_STRING error I posted to the tutorial for these types of errors

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

When I upload from file zilla from local to remote. The remote location shows everything is fine. Classic works on remote no problem. Any new template I try to uplaod comes up with a blank page. The debug line shows line 22 has the problem. I printed the code, I printed the header.php to compare what I have. There is no way to open the header.php on my remote site while I have both local and remote open via file zilla. Obviously there is a problem blocking all template overrides. I sent the header.php from remote to local and it does not show that I am missing any T-Strings from the syntax article I was sent to. I must have changed something in another file by mistake maybe. If I get a blank page for every new template there must be a problem somewhere. Now I cannot even load lavender. I have completely removed lavender from the remote site via file zilla. I try to reinstall file zilla and it states it is already on the remote site but it does not show up when I open the site via file zilla and it does not show up in the drop down list for template choices.
