Lavender Template Support Thread

pc216:

Hi all! I'm new to Zen and to php. I am really trying to learn. It's hard when you have limited time. Anyhoo, I absolutely adore the lavender template. :clap: I just installed zen cart to my site and I am dying to have that beautiful and brilliant template on it. There is just one problem. I am a total moron as I cannot figure out how to install it. :frusty: I keep going to the tools:template selection and only the green one shows up. I uploaded it into the template section, then reuploaded it to the classic folder but I can't get it to show up. I know there is something that I am not doing but I don't know what it is. If there is a very patient person out there willing to help, I would be forever in their debt. Thank you.

At http://www.lulu.com/ search Zen Cart and you will find some downloadable books on templates. I downloaded them but have not read them yet so I can't tell you how helpful they are.

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

Hi I am totally new to all this and I'm sorry if this is a dumb question - but I can not get my logo to take the place of the default one in the template. I overwrote the standard logo in the images file and replaced it with my own image, in the same format and w/the same name, uploaded my files and it still doesn't show up. Any help would be appreciated - is there something else I need to change? Thanks!!

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

Okay...I got that part now - I figured out what I did wrong. But how to you just get the "tag line here" to just go away - i read the FAQs and I thought I did what it said, and just left the quotes empty, but it still shows up....Thanks!

@ibejedi

I'm puzzled. On your site I see the logo that you say you've gotten rid of, but can't see the tagline that you're trying to eliminate.

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

Okay...what happened is I forgot I switched over to PurpleShades to see if I could get that one to work right. I can get my logo with PurpleShades, but I can't get rid of the tagline. I now have it up with Lavender and I can't get my logo to show. So any help at all would be appreciated...thanks in advance. Like I said, I'm really new to this - I've been able to fix other things, but I just can't figure this out! :frusty:

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

Right now the image that is loading for the logo is located and named this:

http://momentsintimecreations-dot-com/includes/templates/lavender/images/logo.gif

This is loafing the image logo.gif that came with the template

Using your FTP delete this image on the server first, check that it does not load so that you know you got the right one. Then FTP your replacement image up to the server, Make sure that it is named "EXACTLY" the same name and watch capitalization.

In the style sheet for the template find the tagline entry and to it add:

display: none;

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

Hi,

I would like to set the lavender template in the middle with a background instead of the whole page, how can I do that? Let's say, I would like the layout to be 768px instead of 1024px.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

Find the following in the lavender template css stylesheet and make your changes to the highlighted entry

#mainWrapper {
	background-color: #f8f2f2;
	text-align: left;
	width: 100%;
	vertical-align: top;
	}

Then at the top of this file find this:

body {
	margin: 0;
	font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
	font-size: 62.5%;
	color: #27182f;
	background-color: #ffffff;
	}

And apply your background image that you upload to the template images folder with the correct repeat statement for it Kinda like:

body {
	margin: 0;
	font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
	font-size: 62.5%;
	color: #27182f;
	background-image: url(../images/your_image)
        background-repeat: repeat ??
        ;
	}

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

kobra,

Thanks so much for your quick help. That's exactly what I needed.

Now, my top banner does not look clear. I changed the logo width and height under the header.php file to match the 768px layout, is there any other place I need to change the pixels for the banner? I checked the stylesheet and I found this:

#logoWrapper{
background-color: #E0C2CC;
height:150px;

should be changing anything there? I tried a few things, but still doesn't work. I need the banner to look clear.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

Hello,

I have a question about this template.
Where can I find the place to insert a horizontal line in the categories pages?

There are horizontal lines in the:
New Products page
All Products page

But, if I click on one of my categories to list products, there aren't any horizontal lines. I don't see anything in the style sheet.

Thanks for your help.

Find or add the following making adjustments as you wish

.productListing-data {
        border-bottom: 1px solid #000000;
        }

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

I am totally new to ecommerce and I had a guy working on coding and putting up my store however we have had some conflicts. So my questions is can this lavendar template work with the latest Zen Cart store version 1.3.8? If so I would love any tips on how to do it because he's not aware rather it will work or not and seems timid to try.

Re: Lavender Template Support Thread

It won't support absolutely everything in 1.3.8 0 in particular the new customer approval authorization checking. But most sites won't need that anyway.

You can see it running under 1.3.8 here.
