Can't see customer order

Hi Zen Gods,

Well it happend that a customer placed an order and I received payment by notification from paypal.

I checked the Admin to see the order but I can't see any record of the order placed.

Then I looked at the paypal log in zen-cart ADMIN and there's warning in the log about the IPN which says

"IPN WARNING::Transaction email address not matched.

From IPN = [email protected]:
From CONFIG = [email protected]

Fri Dec 2006 14:41 -- IPN FATAL ERROR::Transaction did not validate"

Can't somebody tell what's wrong with the email address.

It appears you're not using v1.3.6.

Since there was a bug fixed in v1.3.6, I would suggest using the newer version of the /ipn_main_handler.php and the /includes/modules/payment/paypal/paypal_functions.php files.

I am using v1.3.5 and I have updated the files you mentioned above with the v1.3.6 so what's the next thing to do. How do I test if it's working fine.

NOTE: I would strongly, strongly recommend going to v1.3.6 ...

In the Payment Modules ... do a Remove, Install and Configure on PayPal ...

I am having the same problem but i'm using v1.3.7. I received an email from paypal and the transaction is shown in the PayPal Instant Payment Notifications section of ZenCart (three times actually?) But still not information about what this customer purchased? I have installed as many patches as i can find and still nothing is showing up for this particular transaction, though my test transactions have gone through without problems. How can i find what this person ordered from my site? Thanks heaps!

I'm having the same problem running Zen Cart 1.3.8. My client just notified me that she received payment through PayPal, but there is nothing matching the customer in the ORDERS section.

Hi there dingohart - the SAME EXACT THING just happened to me a couple of hours ago (and I am also up to date). Quite a coincidence that this happened to two different shop keepers in the same day...

Zen gurus - any idea as to what we could look at? I'd hate to jump the gun and go out and ask my customer what they ordered - I'm sure that wouldn't instill confidence in my shop. But at the same time, I'd hate to just do a refund and lose a sale.

Any thoughts GREATLY appreciated!! :cool:

Fortunately I can tell by the price what the customer ordered.

But it is still unsettling and I would like to fix it.

The missing order happened at around 10 am today, Eastern time in the U.S.

I just got off the phone with PayPal. No answer. I called my host and they said all was OK. I am suspecting PayPal, but I'm not quite sure hos the software sends and receives email.

I have a feeling nobody is going to respond to this thread because it was started in 2006.

But...in poking around I found that this type of weird behavior will happen if Paypal has trouble with IPN. So I went to the page that has live status of Paypal:

and I found a post that said as of Oct 14, 4:00 PM PDT the issue was resolved: Some merchants may be experiencing errors with Instant Payment Notifications (IPNs).

So it looks like it was a Paypal problem that we all experienced but it is fixed now.

Sorry--ignore this post. Technical glitch.

I had one paypal order do the same thing - one payment received last night but no trace of an order. Got normal payments just before this one and since so given experience of other at around the same time, it does seem like a PayPal glitch.

This one is a previous customer and the order will be a number of items with tricky attributes so I had no alternative but to email him and ask him what the order was - embarrassing but no choice. Hopefully problem resolved and store credibility not too damaged.

Has the issue been resolved for everyone? I had two orders placed yesterday and not only did it not update the admin, it also did not subtract stock from the catalog. Was anyone else having that problem too?

Those are the same symptoms.

My client followed up with her customer. She paid by signing into her PayPal account, NOT by using her credit card. Not sure if this helps.

Or use Express Checkout instead of IPN/Standard.

I have same thing happen on 14-10-09, received paypal notification of funds. zencard not registered the order (i.e. order number). It is very strange that few people experienced the same problem in last few days.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. :smile:
