Online Buttons Generator

I also had Rebekah's probelms but fixed them using Steed's instructions. However, when I first go to the zen_bck folder, I see it all ok except for the button images, that are there but have a symbol (box with square) as if they weren't there. And when I make a test set of buttons I cease to see the button examples. I have to go to the home dir again to (barely) see them... It's kind of annoying always having to go home to see them...

I try to look that too then.
I also get lot of errors with function "get_dimensions" not working... what could this mean?

I wanted to find out whether you're planning any updates of the downloadable version to include all the button styles you have in the online version. The downloadable version seems to have maybe 1/3 of the available styles.

What a wonderful contribution! Just wondering if anyone has gotten the transparent background to work for them? I'm using:
XP + Xampp + GD bundled (2.0.28 compatible) to generate the buttons and have saved them in Photoshop as PNG24.

Anything I'm missing, or...?

It should be there, it has been part of zen_bck for the last few version now. Make sure:

• you downloaded the latest version of Zen Buton Construction Kit
• you selected the checkbox for Swedish at the end of the form (languages to output)

If that does not work, please describe what you mean by saying "are missing" – not in the options, or not apeearing on the results page or what else. Or alternatively try the online version (link in the posts above).

I have also problem with the transparency in my server online but when I put the folder "zen_bck" locally in my mac MAMP server, I got that working. So, later on I need to compare what are the differences on the setup of the server and my local server.

Ok but this lines of code maybe useful for other catalan users...

I asked Oliver of the mediakitchen site about getting v2.0.

He replied very politely that v2.0 is a different branch of this code and that it would not be made available to the Zen Cart community.
Also it will not be developed further.
So, please do not send him any more emails asking for the code or feature requests (he said).

Still, as it stands it is a great tool, although the current version seems pretty-well broken under php5.3 so someone needs to have a go at it...

Though I never contacted the author directly about his 2.0 code, I took his sudden non-participation in this thread as a sign that he was no longer was interested in sharing with the Zen Cart community. Though I'm sure he has his reasons, seems to me that he could have taken 2 seconds 2 years ago to inform the community of this fact.. Whatever his reasons were, those of us interested in his button generator were certainly not the cause..

Though I like this app, the fact that it only generated JPGs and would not generate buttons with transparent backgrounds was the big reason I ultimately stopped using it.. php 5.3 incompatibility will now lead me to finally remove it from site altogether.. I'm not that interested in fixing it.. (or rather I should say, getting it fixed.. :laugh:)

DO NOT merge the content with your shop's folder structure

Perhaps if I knew where to place the zen_bck folders in my cart, I could see something besides error messages and code. I currently have it placed it in my www directory, due to the DO NOT merge instruction above.

I suppose this question is really basic, since the placement wasn't really spelled out in the zen_bck_install.html.

This is a standalone piece of code that has nothing to do with the files of zen cart or anything else. It is just a (very good) tool for producing a set of Zen Cart button images.
It must be run as any php files via a webserver either on your host or locally. I image the problems you are having are due to it NOT being compatible with php 5.3.
I started to have a look at it as mentioned above but dont have the skills or time to fix it.

I have a copy of xampplite 1.71 (php 5.2.9) locally installed purely to use this.

Zen Button Construction Kit is a stand alone application.

You should be able to access it by typing the following in your browser address bar ( YOUR_DOMAIN.COM/zen_bck_install )
