Column Layout Grid for Product Listing for 1.3.7

Hi all!

Just wondering if anyone has upgraded the "Column Layout Grid for Product Listing" from 1.3.6 to 1.3.7 yet. I know there has not been any upgrade instructions released yet, so I was just wondering if anyone had attempted it yet?

I'm a PHP amateur and was looking for a little guidance. :)

Re: Column Layout Grid for Product Listing for 1.3.7

I have it installed on a 1.3.6 tht I upgraded to Zen Cart 1.3.7 and it functions. So I would say that it does not require an upgrade

Correct - there were no changes required for v1.3.7 compatibility.

Re: Column Layout Grid for Product Listing for 1.3.7

I'm finding something odd when I try to use the Column Layout Grid. Everything installed fine, but products were not showing in columns. When I try switching from 3 columns to 2 columns I see that the description field changes width, so something is happening.

Here's a page that should have products in three columns:
http://www.patiotoys.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1

I'm still working on the site, so I know there are other layout issues.

Re: Column Layout Grid for Product Listing for 1.3.7

Hello,
Just my two cent (for what is worth):
If I want to download this module, logically, I would go to download page... and then I would start to wonder: WHERE do I go next? If only there would be a search field to find the particular module...

Serioulsy, I think the time I'm spending to find something on this forum, could be used i.e. on improving the USABILITY of it, instead of fighting it - so, how about some of you guru-guys, let me know if there is something I could help with. I know you are very busy, as we all are, but I guess, someone DID redesign the zen-cart page not long time ago: a little planning, brainstorming, taking in consideration, etc. - could have save all of us precious minutes...
So, speak up!
Thanks,

Best,

I too wish there was a way to search the module listings to find things easier!

Did you set:
Admin -> Configuration -> Product Listing ->

  • Product Listing - Layout Style
  • Product Listing - Columns Per Row

BTW you have employed a SEO URL's mod. Your product names containing special characters need escaping. Please consult the appropriate SEO URL support forum for more info.

For new products listing displayed on index page:

Config > Index Listing >
New Products Columns per Row

Awhile back I recall someone posted custom code to display columns on new/all product PAGES. Not sure for which Zen cart version.

Re: Column Layout Grid for Product Listing for 1.3.7

I've searched through a number of threads concerning this add-on but haven't seen others having SQL issues, as I am. Via both phpMyAdmin and the admin SQL Query Executor the SQL is returning this error:

1062 Duplicate entry 'PRODUCT_LISTING_LAYOUT_STYLE' for key 2
in:
[INSERT INTO configuration (configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, last_modified, date_added, use_function, set_function) VALUES ('Product Listing - Layout Style', 'PRODUCT_LISTING_LAYOUT_STYLE', 'rows', 'Select the layout style:
Each product can be listed in its own row (rows option) or products can be listed in multiple columns per row (columns option)', '8', '40', NULL, now(), NULL, 'zen_cfg_select_option(array("rows", "columns"),');]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Would someone be so kind as to decipher this and point me in the direction of a fix? I was attempting an install on PittiVintage below.

Thanks!

I cleaned house and attempted another installation, only to receive the same error when running the SQL:

For the life of me I cannot figure out what this means! SQL code is literally like Greek to me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Since whining for assistance wasn't working, I hit the search engines:

I ran a search on 'PRODUCT_LISTING_LAYOUT_STYLE' which led me to this thread:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=62790&highlight=PRODUCT_LISTING_LAYOUT_STYLE
Where Ajeh had some helpful advide on how to track down my SQL problem.

Man I hate having to do the work myself! :smartalec:
