Testimonial Manager Support Thread

this side up:

Hi Clyde

Thank you for this wonderfull module and your faithfull ongoing support of it. I've been using it for a while now and this has to be one of my favourite favourites.

I wanted to ask you please, if there was an easy way to display the truncated side box text in the header? I have only few sideboxes down the left side of my site in an effort to keep things uncluttered. I'd like to move the text to the header, if possible?

I be gratefull for a push in the right direction.

Many thanks
Warren

URL for your site?

TM was not designed with this idea in mind. So, in answer to your question, It's not an easy fix.

Besides, there's only so much room in the header.

Re: Testimonial Manager Support Thread

Hi Clyde

Mmm....pity. I had a feeling...

My url is http://www.thissideup.co.za/store

The screen shot of the header is to give you a better idea, i think i have ample space.

Thanks
Warren

Re: Testimonial Manager Support Thread

Hi Clyde,

I have this installed on another site and it works fine. On my new site I am having some issues. Would you please take a look at my site: http://www.lasilhouettelingerie.com/store/ I do have Simple SEO URL but it has not interferred with other installations.

  1. As you can see the text in my side box and testimonial links do not fit in the sidebox. And the titles seem to be the tags. Any ideas?
  2. When you click view more testimonials, it goes to a page not found.
  3. In Admin>Tools>Box Tools Controller, there is no picture and I did not find one in the file. Location of button ...../includes/languages/english/images/buttons/button_new and alt text is new testimonial item.

I do have Simple SEO URL but it has not interferred with other installations.

Re: Testimonial Manager Support Thread

Clyde,

That is what I was wondering as to whether I had all the files. Your installation instructions show many files that my download does not show. My download of the file is from this page (Top right download link): http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&products_id=446 Has several missing files. Some I created some of my template folders but there were no files located in them.

So I deleted the download and redownloaded. The new installation is still missing several important files. Do you know where I can get a full download with all the correct files? Once again the link above is missing some files each time I download and extract via my zip manager.

Here are my files missing:
admin/includes/functions/extra_functions/testimonials_manager_functions.php
admin/includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/testimonials_manager.php
admin/includes/languages/english/images/buttons/button_new_testimonial.gif
includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/YOUR_TEMPLATE/testimonials_manager_defines.php
and a couple more files......

The new installation folder located in the download is where the files are missing. The upgrade folder does have a couple of the files but not all of them.

Strange, I just downloaded TM and noted that ALL the files and folders are included in both the new installation folder and the upgrade folder. This includes those files you have listed as missing.

Re: Testimonial Manager Support Thread

Thanks Clyde,

Is there anyway I can shorten it from testimonials_manager_all_testimonials.html to just testimonials.html?

That's the way the page filename is currently setup.

Re: Testimonial Manager Support Thread

In the testimonial page I noticed there were dashes right after name and state/country.

Testimonial By: Miles ― , NY ―

How to remove those dashes? Thanks.

Re: Testimonial Manager Support Thread

Thank you Clyde, It's working now. How do I find the dash in the php file? I want to change it from ( — ) to comma ( , ) or to the word ( from ).

Instead of Testimonial By: miles — NY
I want to change it to Testimonial By: miles, NY or miles from NY

Re: Testimonial Manager Support Thread

Is there any way to turn off the display of the Authors name in the testimonials?
Our work involves a lot of repeat orders, and as one of our competitors has started to trawl our site on a regular basis, there could be a potential for them to harvest customer names.
I know I could edit the individual testimonials to just have initials, but was just wondering if this could be toggled on/off.

Thanks, Dave

Currently there is no on/off switch (maybe in a future update)
