Re: Attributes not working for sales

Ajeh:

I turned off the Price by Attributes on products_id 470 and the pricing works fine ...

Your products are NOT Price by Attribute ...

They have Attributes that increase the price, but the price itself is not using the attributes to build the display price ...

So turn off the Price by Attribute on the products and this should work fine for you ...

hi - my site is here http://oyinhandmade.com/oyin

and i have a similar problem to jean-luc - 10% storewide sale, not applying to any product with sizing attributes.

my products are price by attribute, in that the price was set to $0.00 and the price was built by attribute; i did this so customers would see the actual price in the attribute field, rather than having to do arithmetic.

although the 10% coupon applies to the product display price (the lowest attribute price), the products add to the cart as full price in EVERY size.

with one product, i turned off price by attribute, chose a base price (smallest size price) and then used an attribute to add the difference in price for the next size up. same thing: price shows in the display, but adds to cart as full price.

products with no sizing add fine with the discount.

i checked the master category (the sale applies to whole site except gift certificates anyway) and reset the products ID in the store manager, as suggested in another thread.

please! help! the problem is probably simple to fix, but it's so stressful for me right now i'm thinking of taking up smoking.

example of normal item, priced by attribute:

Re: Attributes not working for sales

hmm. it would seem i spoke too soon... i re-did the pricing for the changed product and turned off price by attribute, and now the sale prices to show up in the cart.

this will work, but is still not ideal for me, since i really liked pricing by attribute. ;o)

is there any way to make a salemaker discount apply to attribute-priced items?

sigh.

it seems the cart is applying the discount to the base price only, and then adding the full, non-sale attribute value.

i do have the attribute flag 'apply discounts used by product special/sale' set to "YES" for each attribute value.

even if i get this method to work, it is still not ideal for me, since i really liked pricing by attribute. ;o)

is there any way to make a salemaker discount apply to attribute-priced items?

and: how do i get the attributes to behave according to salemaker?

thanks!

Re: Attributes not working for sales

I have a similar problem. Except it only applies to products that are priced by attributes AND in several categories at the same time. If I keep them in only one category the sale (10% off) price applies to all of the attribute sizes. If I have the product in more than one category the sale price does NOT apply to the attributes.

An example is:

http://southerngardenscents.com

The items in the Holiday Scents show the sale price on all the attributes except Ambrosia because I also have it in the Fragrances A-Z category.

Re: Attributes not working for sales

I am also having the same problem. Some of my products are priced by attributes and others simply add to the original price. On those priced by attributes the price is set to zero and 1 ounce is $4.00 set by attribute, 8 ounce is $10.00 also set by attribute etc. The sale does not work on those items. The items that increase, say Plus size is $2.00 more, it applies the sale to the base price but not the added $2.00.
So how do I get around this? Is there a way?

Thanks,
Kelly

Re: Attributes not working for sales

Make sure that on the Attributes that each has the setting for:

Apply Discounts Used
by Product Special/Sale:
No Yes

set to YES ...

If only one of the Attributes is not showing the Sale, then it sounds like it has this set to NO ...

Re: Attributes not working for sales

No, actually I was responding to your's ...

I make a Product and add the Attributes and put it on Special or Sale and all is working fine ...

Have you an URL where we can see a specific Product where this is not working and can you describe the Original Prices on the Product/Attributes and the Special/Sale that you have setup and what Prices we should be seeing?

Re: Attributes not working for sales

Hi,

We seem to be having the exact same problem. Sales created in Salemaker do not apply to products that are 'priced by attribute'. The sale price is shown on the product page, but the prices in the attribute dropdown do not change, and the price when added to cart do not include the sale price.

Here is an example from the shop.
http://www.qualitydiscountfurniture.co.uk/Barcelona-Faux-Leather-Bed-3ft-4ft-46-5ft-p-1004

Obviously this shop is heavily modded, so i have been testing this on a fresh install of 1.38a, which you can see here.
http://azure-design.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=1

All i have done to this shop is create a single category, containing a single product. The product's price is set to 0 and is set to 'priced by attributes'. I have then created 2 attributes with prices, and then created a sale of 10% off.

I really cannot see what i could be doing wrong, but would welcome any suggestions. I'd also be happy to PM the username and password of the test shop to a Mod if they wished to check the settings.

Thanks in advance,
Graeme

Re: Attributes not working for sales

This is a pretty shameless bump, but I'd really appreciate a response to this if anyone has the time or any useful information. I'm reasonably sure i'm using things correctly, which makes me think this is a bug.

Re: Attributes not working for sales

I am using the setting:
Apply SaleDeduction to Specials Price - Otherwise Apply to Price

and SaleMaker is applying to my attributes ...

What settings are you using?

Re: Attributes not working for sales

Linda, you genius, changing to that option has fixed it!

Now my next question is, why? That option seems to be specifically aimed at options that have a 'Specials' price, and I am not using any 'Specials' which is why i left the option alone.

Re: Attributes not working for sales

More or less it is how the logic is done to build the conditions and that one tends to fix a lot when things go wrong ...
