Could this be becuase I am using multi site?

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

Got it - this is what I used:

Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^https://www.domain.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*) http://www.domain.com/$1 [L,R=301]

Thanks

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

IllusionGuy:

Hello guys,

I think I installed everything right but I guess I mist a step somewhere I get the message "the domain www.example.com does not exist" how do I fix this?

I don't know if you found a solution to this or not, but if not, here's what to try:

make sure your custom config files, ie "www.yoursite.com_config.php" are in the "/includes/config_sites" folder, not anywhere else. Maybe the instructions don't specify what folder these files should go in!

Hope that helps,

Nick

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

Just to add a little more info. I have an .htaccess 301 redirect to the main site ( first store installed) Both stores are on their own IP due to the SSLs.

The redirect is working but it goes to the wrong store...

Thanks if anyone can help.

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

Hi everyone.

I wonder if I could get a little help. I have installed Zen Cat and the MultiSite Module following the instructions and some more info from this thread.

But when I goto the site, I get the 'System Setup Required' page for Zen Cart. I have to be close, but what am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

HI there
Have you created a Modify process help file as I already have a site that is already live and running and can't copy the file over what I have already.
Thanks

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

Anyone find a magic way of transferring layout box setting from site to site without having to change the settings manually for each site? Would just like the same side boxes for all extra sites added.

Also, Ken do you know if the scripts can get "overloaded". We plan on having about 50 sites running on this system and they will all be pulling from the same directory so was not sure if this becomes and issue at some point.

Thanks!

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

makenoiz,

I just keep a copy of the the layout_boxes sql create table code and do a find/replace on the site name. Then I insert the modified file back into the database and you settings will be the same for the new store. Just do a

mysqldump -u <user> -p<password> zencart_database --tables layout_boxes > layout_boxes.sql
```When I'm not quite so lazy/busy I plan on building a little "setup" interface that will create the config files and insert the appropriate layout_boxes rows, but for now this is pretty quick.
I've been over this code pretty thoroughly with the modifications I've made to it, and haven't found anything introduced with this module that should cause any problems as the number of sites increase.
The only general performance suggestion I would have is to be careful how many products you put in a single category.  This is a Zen Cart thing, nothing to do with MultiSite other than the fact that you may have more products than a single store.  To give you some scale, with my dedicated MySQL server I need to keep the number of products in a single category under 5,000 for the store to perform adequately, which is highly unlikely for in most situations I would think.
Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread
Does any have the scrolling specials box working, so that it only displays the products relevant to that site.
I have the
  $random_specials_sidebox_product = zen_random_select(cat_filter($random_specials_sidebox_product_query));
in the specials.php file, but it still pulls in ALL items listed as specials.
Thoughts?
Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread
Hi All,
I'm currently dusting off all my files on this mod as I haven't worked on it for a number of months. There is one thing that I'm trying to set up.
One of my two websites is for a select group of individuals, if an unauthorized person logs into that site I would rather have them redirected with their session id to the other (public) site. Right now the system defaults to the customer_authorization page, but I don't want them to see that page.
Is this possible?
Thanks,
Jaret
Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread
Okay, so it looks like all I need is to create a page which, when loaded, will automatically redirect to the other sit with the session id.
Anyone know how this can be done?
Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread
Hi jvoce,
Didn't spend a ton of time looking at this, but I'm thinking you would go to:
includes/modules/pages/login/header_php.php
Look for:
if (isset($_GET['action']) && ($_GET['action'] == 'process'))
Catch the unwelcome customers in that section.
Redirect them using
zen_redirect($your_url ."?zenid=". zen_session_id())
