I tried uninstalling the 1.8.2 version I got off numinix site and installing the 1.7.34 version off this site and instead of a blank page at admin/tools/google base feeder, I get :

Does anyone know what's going on here?

If you are using a custom folder in other words using the override system make sure all the files are going into the correct folders that you named them to. Make sure the googlefroogle.php file uploaded to the root of your server.

Change the line to:

I only have one overide file that would be affected. I made sure all the files were copied correctly and still got the same error:(

any other ideas?

You have run the sql script for google base feeder in admin/tools/install_sql_patches. You have to copy and past it. If you have did all this I'm stumped right now.

well crud...I've done all that. One version (the newest one) I get a blank page and if I use the older version (from this site), I get the text junk:(

Hopefully someone else has had (and resolved) this issue. Thank you for your advise

As many sites I have installed this on I have never had this to happen. Check your permissions on your server control panel. If you have word press addon installed it will cause a conflict with this module. Check some of your .htaccess files.

Inside some folders is an .htaccess file that lists certain permitted filetypes which may be accessed. (Anything else is blocked to prevent abuse on your site).

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Thanks. I don't have wordpress. I'll have to check the .htaccess files.

On the Numinix forum, someone said the text error was the cause of the admin files. Could renaming my admin to another name (as recommended) cause a problem? I uploaded the files to the "admin" folder of my site...it's just that the name is not "admin".

so in my admin/includes there is a.htaccess file that has:

do I need to add php here as a certain necessary file? In the admin folder the .htaccess file allows php but not in the admin/includes

It should not cause you any problem as long as you changed the name of the admin folder to the name you are using. In other words if your admin folder is named jhon_doe make sure the admin folder in the google base feeder is change to mach that before you upload, if not then things will not work.

You can try it to see if it will work, if you still get a blank page try the admin/includes also.
Change the line to:
<FilesMatch ".*.(js|JS|css|CSS|jpg|JPG|gif|GIF|png|PNG|xsl|XSL)$">

If that does not work try the old .htacess file from your backup 1.3.8 to see if it makes any difference.

This is used with Apache WebServers

For this to work, you must include the parameter 'Options' to

the AllowOverride configuration

Example:

<Directory "/usr/local/apache/htdocs">

AllowOverride Options

</Directory>

'All' with also work. (This configuration is in the

apache/conf/httpd.conf file)

The following makes adjustments to the SSL protocol for Internet

Explorer browsers

<IfModule mod_setenvif.c> <IfDefine SSL> SetEnvIf User-Agent ".*MSIE.*" \ nokeepalive ssl-unclean-shutdown \ downgrade-1.0 force-response-1.0 </IfDefine> </IfModule>

Fix certain PHP values

#<IfModule mod_php4.c>

php_value session.use_trans_sid 0

php_value register_globals 1

#</IfModule>

to turn off register_globals

I read what what you asked Numinix on Numinix forums and I agree with him. Check to make sure the files in the google base feeder admin uploaded correctly. What I mean about that is make sure the filesize is the same, if not that is the reason why it is showing that down below. Some ftp programs mess up when uploading files.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Hi, I'm using this module and it's mostly working. An issue I'm having is that the 'product_type' tag (which is the category name) isn't showing my category properly. I have products which are linked in two categories and for some reason, it is showing the linked category and not the 'master category'. I have reset the master category products to be the correct one (as they were showing incorrectly before) but even after resetting this, the 'product_type' is not updating to be the correct category. Does anyone have any thoughts about this? I don't want to have to delete all the linking products categories. Thanks in advance- I love zen cart and this community!!

Nothing appears to have changed. If you go thru the process of the google feed by way of zen admin you can read an error in step 2. If you go thru all the steps without looking at the actual feed it appears to be fine.

In google merchant it only ever said there were 57 items listed with errors and there are actually over a 1,000 items listed in the store. Also in google merchant it now said there were 0 items.

If you don't know what version of google base you are using I guess you are not using the latest version. You can go here to download it. Try that and see what happens. I had to modify one file but after that it works like a charm with zencat 1.3.9d. The errors can be corrected by changing some of the code in the Google Base Feed sanitizer. I can help you with that when the time comes if it doesn't work out of the box.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

OMG...I fixed it! I can't believe it!

I used the newest download of google base. Once that was installed, I replaced the "admin" section of google base files with my old set of admin files for google base (from my 1.3.6 store before upgrade). That worked!

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Good evening fellow zenners!

I have been on the google site and have decided to tackle a google based Rss Feed.

I created a 3 item feed and was trying to debug and look at the prospect of loading on all my products - what work.

stumbled on a felliow zenner who had developed the feed thru zencart. Soooooo Duh - should have know the smart zenners would have already thought of this.

I am starting from scratch and jumping in the middle of a 234posting thread :ohmy:and have no idea where to start - Just a point as to where to start my reading! this thread is over 2 years old and alot is probably invalid by now. or I might be wrong here to!

Pointing is good! TIA

You can go here to download the latest Google Base Feeder. After that read the read me that comes with it. If you have any problems come back here for help. You must go to Google Merchant Center to sing up for an account if you have not done so all ready. Hope this has helped you.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Hello all,

When I view my products feed the url is https://www.mysite.com/feed/domain_products.xml and you see all the products there, but when you click on any of the product links I get 404 error and the url looks like https://www.mysite.com/language/en/category/manufacturer/product_name

Obviously I don't have language (en) in my urls. I have looked into my google base feed admin and there's nothing there. I also use site_map XML module which is working fine.

I have 1.3.8a version and 1.7.4 (latest) version for google base. Anyone also encountered this problem ? How to get rid of that english instance from my urls.

Thanks.
