Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

delia:

one of the reasons why it's hard to get answers in this thread is that there are so many folks asking for help who don't bother even going back a few pages to see what might have been just asked. Several of us are trying to reply here but it's very time consuming.

I just used Numinix's latest version of 1.12.0 that he released on Sunday. I have seen no problems with it. If anyone else has used it, please post your results here. I will upload it to zen cart if no one reports any problems.

This version has added support for

UPC, EAN, and ISBN as attributes
all new required attributes (size, material, age group, gender, google product category, pattern, and color) either through Stock by Attributes or as regular attributes

I don't know if he means the existing stock by attributes mod cause he said he was going to write his own. I'll let you know later - if someone else doesn't report good things before I get to it. The 1.10.2 version does not work with stock by attributes

mikebr
no problem with ceon uri - but of course does not use the ceon urls in the feed

PinkLeopard
asked and answered many times so far - turn on show quantity and default quantity is 0

marvin
you don't have the entire mod uploaded or are mixing versions

sash
turn condition to false - you do not have the numinix product fields installed

ATSWorld
have you turned on debugging? Nobody can answer your question without a lot more information. Thanks Fez-o Joe for your response

jo_h1971
should be compatible with 1.3.8a, anything before that probably not.

ideasgirl
for google probably yes, for export from your cart, no

Linux
I'm tempted to ignore your question. I hate getting sarcastic or irritable in this thread and I generally manage not to but ......
The answer is yes or else most of the zen cart community would not have their products on Google.

I agree with you 100%. Not none of my business but since this thread is so long with old information, and On Sept. 22, Google started gradually enforcing the new Google products feed spec requirements why not start a new thread with Numinix's latest version and go from there.

Is your site Upgraded to the current version 1.5.4 Yet?

This makes excellent sense.

The best way to learn is to try stuff. But, back it up first.

Absolutely true.

A lot of the information is very old and it makes it confusing.

I personally want to thank Numinix. I will be definitely donating or purchasing some of your addons. You were always polite in answering questions especially on your forum.

Numinix - thanks for the last update...that really did the trick. YOU are amazing, helpful and always nice. Thanks for all of your contributions too.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I have Google Base Feeder working - kinda. File had 365 products in it but Google Merchant Centre shows 0 of 109 products inserted. So 2 issues but I will worry about the actual quantity later - it is the errors for the 109 that I need to get sorted.

By the way - read as many pages back as I could without going GaGa.

Getting errors as follows;
Invalid price (109 errors)

We don't accept non-numeric values or negative prices. If you are including the currency code or symbol, please make sure it matches the currency of the target country.

examples shown had prices as "7.95" which I see no problem with - maybe the problem is that the default currency on the site is AUD and in Google Merchant Centre Configuration it is USD and cannot be altered!! - it will not let me alter it, there is no edit box when you click on the info icon.

AFTERTHOUGHT = Google Merchant Check Out is not available yet in Australia - from what I gather it is only available in USA, CAN and UK - but I have selected do not use checkout - wondered if this may have something to do with it ??

Missing recommended attribute: brand (109 warnings)

While items missing recommended attributes will process successfully, we recommend including relevant attributes if they are available.

The products do not have a brand and are not Handmade or Custom - do I insert a made up brand name and if so where? (under manufacturer in product details?)

**Missing recommended attribute: availability **(109 warnings, only affecting Product Search, Search API for Shopping)

While items missing recommended attributes will process successfully, we recommend including relevant attributes if they are available.

Really not sure what this is about - in product description pages I have selected "do not show qty box" (albeit they still show in product pages) - any ideas ?

Missing recommended attribute: google product category (109 warnings)

While items missing recommended attributes will process successfully, we recommend including relevant attributes if they are available.

Of the 109 products singled out they are from about 3 or 4 different categories .... so how does one sort this?

I have tried re-configuring config but it doesn't change things.

So now I look for help. Thank you indeed in advance.

cheers,
Mike

p.s. ZenCart v1.3.9 add-on is latest version showing in add-ons section. (but not the super dooper very last recent one I don't think from reading recent posts)

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

shags38

first, you need to download the latest & greatest from the one and only Numinix

here

make sure you uninstall the sql and then re-install it.

if you did that than you are on your way.

make all your adjustments to new config

on the attribute: availability you need to go to your admin in zen cart and edit your page layout and show stock. that's why i have done to make it work. on your new configuration for google merchant make these adjustments:

show quantity true
default quantity 1

start with those and post your results.

hope that helps

Manufacturer and that would be in admin.

Then when you list a new item you add the manufacturer.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

OK, I have searched through this thread for a solution to my problem but I can't find one

I'm trying to set product type to "bottom", but when I do this the tag isn't generated in the feed. If I set it to "top" or "full" it works as it should, but not for bottom.

If anyone can help with this, I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks, Rob.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

sash,

The xml file will look the same apart from additional lines if the product has that information available in the database: The extra fields I get are <g:size> <g:color> and <g:item_group_id> see below :

The rest are pretty much the same: extra ones might include <g:brand><g:mpn> or <g:isbn> depending on which of those fields you use for the product (if using Numinix extra fields)

<g:item_group_id>008</g:item_group_id>
<g:id>008-03</g:id>
<g:size><![CDATA[0-3 months]]></g:size>

hope that helps.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I had this issue and discovered when looking at the database phpmyadmin that there was an error with the install of the Mysql patch and the configuration group id had not been applied - they were 0 rather than 1017 for example.

Also if you get an error due to a duplicate key then you will find that half the fields might not install (at least that what appears to have happened when I tried first time)

To resolve you can either manually enter the config group id (if that is the issue) or uninstall the old one and reinstall the new one from scratch. - you will have to reconfigure through admin but it is not that long a process.

Hope that helps, as without seeing exactly what you did I might have missed something.

Rob,

Can't answer your problem specifically but if you read the google specification they suggest that "full" would be the better route to take.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Sash

I cannot see any attribute configuration as far as I can make out from the code it checks if the product has attributes and then checks the TABLE_PRODUCTS_WITH_ATTRIBUTES_STOCK for the quantity. (would suggest you need the stock by attributes module installed for this) So this part of it should be automatically produced if the product has attributes - not all of mine do for example and it produces the xml file accordingly.

One suggestion - have you uploaded the new googlefroogle.php right at the route of the site - this is the file which determines the xml output. if you have not replaced that one with the new version then you will not get the attributes being output.

Mikey, thanks for the response

I have tried unistall.sql and install and still only 9 statements install.
I have no idea how to manually enter the config group. any guidance is appeciated
