Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

MikeyG:

Sash

I cannot see any attribute configuration as far as I can make out from the code it checks if the product has attributes and then checks the TABLE_PRODUCTS_WITH_ATTRIBUTES_STOCK for the quantity. (would suggest you need the stock by attributes module installed for this) So this part of it should be automatically produced if the product has attributes - not all of mine do for example and it produces the xml file accordingly.

One suggestion - have you uploaded the new googlefroogle.php right at the route of the site - this is the file which determines the xml output. if you have not replaced that one with the new version then you will not get the attributes being output.

Must be something ive missed or not clicked ,, the stock to attributes seems fine, and yea just tried it and the feed takes that info automatically as i changed the quantity in a few of them,, and saw they changed in the feed,,
Just dont see the attribute <size> in the feed// cheers

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I am assuming that you are running the install from the admin area of the site? and no errors are reported?

If you have phpmyadmin available you can use that to look at the tables in the database and just see what has gone into the configuration tables - there are two that need to be looked at. You can use the features of phpmyadmin to then do a search for the configuration keys in the configuration table and see if they have all been inserted. if you look at the install.sql file these keys tend to be in capitals.

My feed has <g:availability>in stock</g:availability>

but google has rejected the feed with the error Missing required attribute: availability

any ideas?

First, try completing a who need feed with a new name. Then make the changes in your google account.

I did this and it worked!

getting my hair off now......

Is it right that only 9 statments have installed.

I only get half the options in config, and no update/save button to save changes made

What version do you have installed?

A new one came out less than a week ago.

Did you do the upgrade patches of database 1 by 1?

delia:

Suggestion though: also do a search in the config table for a group id of 0. If you have results, check to see if any of those look like they are for the feeder. If so , delete them. If you have others, they also may need deleting. Having a group id of 0 means those settings don't show up in the admin and are usually from botched installs.

think this is your answer (maybe) do you get a duplicate error?? if so this maybe your answer,,

if you dont have access to phpmyadmin, ask your host to do it...

check your feed/google file - chmod to 755 or 777

also if you feel comfortable can you screen shot your config without your users name or pw. maybe you left something out. i will take a look at it.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I installed version 1.12.0. What I'm noticing so far is

    • the feed output file is showing duplicate google_product_category for each product

    <g:google_product_category><![CDATA[Media > Music]]></g:google_product_category>
    <g:google_product_category><![CDATA[Media > Music]]></g:google_product_category>

    • Configuration no longer has, Include Zero Quantity - Is it showing for anyone else?
    • Configuration still has the Shipping Country drop down list error. This fix works.

http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1047528&postcount=2849

The feed is uploading to google without problem.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I'm getting some odd duplications in my data as well. For example anything with an ampersand or special character, like greater than has mysteriously added characters.

For example:

<g:google_product_category>Home & Garden > Kitchen & Dining > Barware</g:google_product_category>

Notice all the extra ```
amp;

Any ideas?

This was a fresh install of 1.10.2

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Hi, im having problems getting our feed to work, getting the following error:

Encoding problem in attribute: description (12684 errors)

Some of the characters in your items seem to be invalid. Please verify that all the characters in your feed are valid for your selected encoding.
Examples:

Item ID Line No. Value
1752 69 RRP £8.99 Battle of the Bands: Backstage Pass introduces 60 new cards for your Battle of the Bands games! What do you, your cat, a cute backup singer and the dread K'tulu on lead zither have in common? They're in your band! You're a star, so lets jam! Complexity (1-10): 3 Playing Time: 30-45 minutes Number of players: 2-6 Ages: 13 and higher (Teen Themes)

We run a UK shop if that makes any difference which ran the Numinix Google Base Feeder absolutely brilliantly up until Google made the changes and now nothing works.

The Guys at Numinix have installed the latest version release but just seems to be a problem getting my data into Google.

Just wanted to confirm that I need to update my files and DB to UTF-8 >?

Any advice would be most grateful

Cheers
Chris

Regards,

Chris (CCN1)

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I just went through checkout on my site and there were no errors.

The best way to learn is to try stuff. But, back it up first.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

After having installed the latest Google Base Feeder I am getting the "No Picture Available" error when adding new products to the shop (not to Google Feed). I can't figure the relationship but thought I'd ask if anyone else has experienced this??

I have some 350+ products already loaded and never had any issues with images and no changes have been made in admin to configurations (other than Google Merchant).

Any clues??

cheers,
Mike
