Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

numinix:

Hmm, do you get this error with all SQL patches? Perhaps you should make a new thread as this thread is for issues specific to the Google Base Feeder.

Thanks for your response.

The only other mod that I have installed requiring an SQL patch was Google Sitemap Admin and I used the install_googlesitemap.php method of installation as it appeared, from the instructions given, the simpler way to do it.

From what you say, I can now imagine that if I'd tried the cut and paste method with the Sitemap mod, the same thing may have happened.

Please can you suggest which would be the most appropriate forum for me to start a new thread in on this subject?

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

You need to set all your products that are not map_enabled to 0.

Then if map_enabled = 0, it will be included, otherwise it won't.

Or try <> 1

There isn't != for SQL

I took the ! out, still nothing.

I ended up uploading a fresh copy and adding the p.map_enabled in the select list & AND p.map_enabled = 0 to the very last query. Worked liked I needed it to!

Thank you SO very much for your help, and for your patience. :D

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I'm using version 1.6.7 and all the entries are duplicated. ZC 1.38a

The first time I uploaded to Google Base there were errors. I went through the XML file and manually removed all the duplicates and its now fine by Google Base.

Looking through the XML file I see all the products are duplicated between
and
. The first entry is perfect, but the second entry usually has some missing info, like the
tag is empty.

I have two languages on my site, but I've set the Google Base Feeder Configuration as:

Show Feed Lanugage: true
Feed Language: English

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Hi,

I'm having an issue with getting my catalog published. I have the base feeder installed and seems to be working fine. I can create the catalog and when I manually publish through the admin, it tells me the upload was successful. The problem is that the upload never shows up in my google base account. When I try to manually upload the file directly through google base I get the error: We didn't understand the header (first) row of your file. Please make sure you're using valid attribute names.

Any ideas as to how to resolve the problem....I'm using v 1.3.8a

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Not sure why, but your feed file is not exporting the products:

 1.
 2.

 3.

 4.
International Coffee Beverage

 5.

 6.

 7.

 8.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

What is the solution to this problem? Do you think an uninstall and reinstall of files would help?

How did you originally add these products to your ZEN CART site?

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Hi,

I already submit a sitemap.xml to google, so will adding this google base feeder do something in addition to this ? If yes please explain exactly what or point to the right place for this info.

Grateful for your time and help on this.

Is anyone successfully using Google Base Feeder v1.6.7 successfully with ZC V1.3.8a and SEO URLs? Looks like a good time saver, but doesn't version compatibilty in downloads section.

Thanks!

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Is there a way with this module to automatically have Google Checkout accepted turned on as one of the payment methods? I am referring to the checkbox under Payment when as item is edited.

Everything else is working great!

Thanks,
Joe

This is a Very handy tool. It submits your products (for free) to google base, which is an online shopping site. Your products will be added to http://www.google.com/products
It has really helped me!

Yes I understand that its a good tool but my question is 'Does this tool add value if you are already submitting a sitemap to google.' and if the answer is yes then exactly what is the value add?

The answer is yes. The sitemap.xml does not add to Froogle, it just gives Google an index of your site.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Numinix,
I've just updated to the latest versions of Google Base and Live Product Search Feeders (thank you very much for continued support BTW!) and have encountered a strange problem with Google Base Feeder.

It would appear that no records get placed into the Google Base Feeder output file - see below:

Google Base Feeder v.1.6.7 05.12.2007 12:53:59 started 2008/02/03 20:04:45
Feed file - /pathto/feed/test_.xml
Processing: Feed - Yes, Upload - No
Google Base File Complete In 0.017869 Seconds 0 RecordsBy way of contrast, I've also upgraded the LPS Feeder and that works fine! I'm still using Zen Cart 1.3.7 and have Magic SEO URLs (with your add on).

Output files can be found at Google Base, and LPS.

As always, grateful for any thoughts pse.

Also posted on Numinix's Website - Apologies if duplicate postings are frowned upon!

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

DOH! Just thought I'd recheck that everything had been uploaded properly and noticed that I hadn't uploaded the admin files into the correct folder.

Apologies for being a muppet!!! It now works like a dream .....
