Default Problem with shopping cart, contact us pages..

DrByte:

The definitive answer: Maybe. Maybe not. What you've got is not a simple problem.

You've done numerous customizations to your site. It could be a result of several things.General Questions

The link I posted earlier explains how to compare your current live site against a master set of files, and identify changes as well as extra files.

You need to look at every difference (files that are different, missing, or extra), and see whether what's in every difference ... makes sense or not. If it does, leave it. If it doesn't, adjust it to what "does" make sense.

You could start by removing your added files in your custom language folders and/or your custom template folder.

Or you could set up a fresh site in another directory (and a separate database), and begin applying your customizations to it one at a time until you bust it. That would give you a clue about where the problem is.Well, given that it was working fine with all the customizations a week ago, I'm only going to look at files that were updated recently.

I don't really know what else to do..

How about a 2nd site with just demo products ... see if the thing runs at all. Maybe something got busted by the server admin when installing the SSL part? Maybe not. One way to find out.

Who edited your home page to embed a flash object inside an A HREF tag that links to an ezpage ? Whatever it is, isn't working...

Then next I'd turn on SSL

  • edit the testinstall/includes/configure.php file
  • set ENABLE_SSL to true
  • make sure the HTTPS_SERVER url is right

Do things still work?

Then ... begin applying your customizations to it one at a time until you bust it.

Re: Default Problem with shopping cart, contact us pages..

Thanks. Since the site worked fine a week ago, I'm just going to ask my host to restore last week's backup. (Or the week before)

If that doesn't work out, I'll definitely try what you suggested. It's a bit late right now and I'm tired so I'm gonna see if the host can restore those backups.

Thanks for all your help!

Re: Default Problem with shopping cart, contact us pages..

Here's the code from my includes/confgure.php

// Define the webserver and path parameters
  // HTTP_SERVER is your Main webserver: eg, http://www.yourdomain.com
  // HTTPS_SERVER is your Secure webserver: eg, https://www.yourdomain.com
  define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://wishgiving.com');
  define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://wishgiving.com');

  // Use secure webserver for checkout procedure?
  define('ENABLE_SSL', 'true');

// NOTE: be sure to leave the trailing '/' at the end of these lines if you make changes!
// * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL)
  // these paths are relative to top of your webspace ... (ie: under the public_html or httpdocs folder)
  define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/');
  define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/');

  define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');
  define('DIR_WS_INCLUDES', 'includes/');
  define('DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'functions/');
  define('DIR_WS_CLASSES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'classes/');
  define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'modules/');
  define('DIR_WS_LANGUAGES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'languages/');
  define('DIR_WS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', DIR_WS_CATALOG . 'pub/');
  define('DIR_WS_TEMPLATES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'templates/');

  define('DIR_WS_PHPBB', '/');

// * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical)
  //the following path is a COMPLETE path to your Zen Cart files. eg: /var/www/vhost/accountname/public_html/store/
  define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/wishgivi/public_html/');

  define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'download/');
  define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'pub/');
  define('DIR_WS_UPLOADS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'uploads/');
  define('DIR_FS_UPLOADS', DIR_FS_CATALOG . DIR_WS_UPLOADS);
  define('DIR_FS_EMAIL_TEMPLATES', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'email/');

are there any wrong directories?

Like I said earlier, I suspect your problems are actually in your customizations, or a result of missing files.

Re: Default Problem with shopping cart, contact us pages..

Other problems have been resolved
Seems like some directories were missing in

Now the problem is on this page
https://wishgiving.com/index.php?main_page=checkout_payment
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/wishgivi/public_html/includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_checkout_payment_default.php on line 15

Line 15 is:

<?php echo $payment_modules->javascript_validation(); ?>

That only means that payment_modules is not geting initilized
What might be going wrong?

What might be going wrong?

  1. If $payment_modules isn't getting intialized, then ... search for all references to $payment_modules and see what's happening. Trace it back.

  2. What payment modules are enabled in your admin ?

  3. Even more, I'm still convinced that files are missing or incompleted, or code-customizations have caused the problem; hence the earlier suggestion to compare current files with master files: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/Troubleshoot_-_Diagnosing_Obscure_Issues

Re: Default Problem with shopping cart, contact us pages..

I only have paypal IPN installed, and right now it has been disabled.

I've compared files, and all the checkout files were identical.
