FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

testuser:

No clue, I'll look into it. Which browser are you using? Does the error happen in another browser?

Well, it looks like this only happens when using IE 7.0 as I do not have the same problem in FF.

Thanks!

I installed as directed and Spell Check doesn't work. Am I missing something? I have 1.3.8a.

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

How do you get this to work when your Admin is under https?

I get this error - in my config file I have HTTPS

Warning: Missing argument 1 for FCKeditor::__construct(), called in /mounted-storage/home54c/sub002/sc35494-IXGL/xxxxxxx/xxxxxx/admin/includes/modules/product/collect_info.php on line 413 and defined in /mounted-storage/home54c/sub002/sc35494-IXGL/xxxxxxxx/xxxxxxx/admin/includes/fckeditor_php5.php on line 42

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

BlessIsaacola:

Just upgraded to V2.6 on ZCV1.3.8 using PHP 5.2.6 and I am seeing this error in the log:

File does not exist: /public_html/App_Themes, referer: http://www.clevershoppers.com/editors/fckeditor/editor/fckeditor.html?InstanceName=products_description[1]&Toolbar=Default

Any ideas why this is looking for App_Themes in root folder?

Thanks!

Still have no idea why this is happening in IE 7.0

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

**Quick fix -
**
This fix goes out to all the people who have an evergrowing handful of zen-cart clients and want to cotstantly use FCKeditor with less configuration.

This involves detecting the location of the myfiles folder, so you don't have to constantly change it :)

In editors\fckeditor\editor\filemanager\connectors\php\config.php, add the following code to the top:

//Get the path of the current server and strip it down to the first folder.
$path = $_SERVER["SCRIPT_FILENAME"];
$file = dirname($path); // $file is set to "/etc"
$stripped_file = str_replace("editors/fckeditor/editor/filemanager/connectors/php", "", $file);

$relpath = $_SERVER["PHP_SELF"];
$relfile = dirname($relpath); // $file is set to "/etc"
$rel_stripped_file = str_replace("editors/fckeditor/editor/filemanager/connectors/php", "", $relfile);

And then change the $Config['UserFilesPath'] and $Config['UserFilesAbsolutePath'] to the following:

// Path to user files relative to the document root.
$Config['UserFilesPath'] = $rel_stripped_file . 'myfiles/' ;

// Fill the following value it you prefer to specify the absolute path for the
// user files directory. Useful if you are using a virtual directory, symbolic
// link or alias. Examples: 'C:\\MySite\\userfiles\\' or '/root/mysite/userfiles/'.
// Attention: The above 'UserFilesPath' must point to the same directory.
$Config['UserFilesAbsolutePath'] = $stripped_file . 'myfiles/' ;

Bit of a crazy workaround, but it does save you time.

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Hi all - Just installed fckeditor - works great.

Just wondering if there is any way that, when editing a product description, you can specify the font size in "points" from the drop down rather than "sizes" (like smaller, small etc...)

Thanks in advance!

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Hi,
I've installed fckeditor fine and it seems to be working except when i try to insert an uploaded image. after uploading it shows in the editor screen that the files is in the image directory and it has a file size greater than 0...yet when i try to insert it...the image doesn't show up.
when i check the html code...the reference to the file is there and the path is correct (/myfiles/image/filename.jpg)

when i check via ftp...the file is not there.??

anyone??

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

use the above code to have fckeditor create correct base path ..

chances are the editor created the new folders outside of the root and somewhere else , i had the same problem with base path and php code above fixed problem .

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

The editor doesn't seem to like Google Chrome. It installs okay, everything seems to work but the toolbar/text window is only 2 inches wide. The toolbar also seems to be truncated. I tried altering width and height in admin/includes/fckeditor_php4 (and 5) but that didn't change anything. Everythig looks fine in FF.

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Re my previous post regarding FCKeditor being about the size of a playing card in Google Chrome, I fixed the problem by altering the editor size in admin/includes/modules/product/collect_info.php. At line 405, change the width from 99% to something like 700 (no % sign). That fixes everything. You can also adjust the height at the same time on line 406.

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Hi Tracy,

I haven't had a chance to look at that fix yet, but I do know that typing in absolute paths is a pain in the ########. Trouble is that I store images in several directories to keep control of them, so I don't know if the fix will help me or not.

On quickly reading the posts, I think the contributor has already created a folder called myfiles and that's where the images are stored. In your case, you either have a different directory name (so replace references to myfiles with it) or the absolute path you're using for myfiles is incorrect. Just keep playing with the paths and eventually it should all come together.

Sorry about the delay, but the email notifier didn't work. I forgot to change my email address!

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

I was having a problem with the latest version of this mod on an old 1.3.6 site. Couldn't see FCKEditor when trying to edit products or categories (in Firefox 3.0.)5 even though it was chosen as the editor. Then in post 104 of this thread...

... but I can choose it from define pages editor area and once I use it there it shows up for use under product pages as well!

I thought that sounded interesting, so I went into the Define Pages Editor, chose FCKEditor and there it was. Then I went back into the catalog and tried editing a product, and there it was again!

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

I kept getting "Internal Server Error" when trying to use FCKeditor, finally I figured out through checking the error log that it was caused by the .htaccess file.

Apparently my apache doesn't really like the statement:

IndexIgnore */*

Maybe it's only my host, but I hear more people complaining about the FCKeditor / HTMLarea editor not working... only being able to edit plain text.

Anyway when I rename the .htaccess into say "1.htaccess" I can finally edit using the FCKeditor :clap: !!!

But... this is an unsafe situation... does anyone have a suggestion how to get the IndexIgnore to work?

I took a look at the official syntax and saw that the "/" doesn't seem to be supported.

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Regards!

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

I can not get this editor to work. I have installed all files and I have double checked my installation, all seems to be in place.

I have configured my store and selected the FCKeditor and nothing happens.

I have cleared my browser cache several times and still nothing happens.

All I get is the default text editor.

Can someone help me out??

Thanks in advanced
SK

FYI... The HTMLarea editor also does not work.

I would check that your .htaccess file is present. I had the same problem a while ago when I couldnt get HTMLeditor working and making sure it was in the correct place solved it.

Like I said it was a while ago - memory is fuzzy and I probably haven't remembered the solution exactly :wink:

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Hi ive been having the same problem as well. My Html editor was not working so i uploaded the fckeditor. I changed the settings in the Admin-config/mystore html editor to fck editor. When i tried to add a new product i was getting a internal server error.
So i opened my Htdocs/SHOP/editors-.htaccess (Htdocs being my route folder and SHOP being the folder for zencart) I renamed the .htaccess to .1htaccess and its now working.

Im still looking around for a fix but in the meantime it will help me get my products listed

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but this Mod is not working for me.

I just reinstalled all files one by one and cleared my cache, logged out, closed my browser and restarted my browser. Still no
FCK editor. I selected the editor in admin/config/my store and still NO luck in getting this MOD to work.

I am running ZC v1.3.8a PHP v5.2.8 and FCK editor v2.5

I am totally at a loss on this. None of HTML Editors have worked since my hosting company installed ZC.

Any ideas!!!!??

Thanks

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Hi
I had the same problem but i installed zencart myself. Try what i mentioned above it worked for me fine. Dont know how stable it is but its working.
Go to your

zencart directory then editors you will see a file called .htaccess-rename the file to .1htaccess then your editor should work fine.
