Apple Zen Support Thread

Hello

Category ‹ (4)
‹Subcategory ‹ (4)
I picked some different caractures from a character browser like wingdings. I would be easier than rewriting code, You need to put the windings in as a expression in Admin>configuration>Layout Settings> Mine is a down pointing arrow head.
Categories Separator between the Category Name and Sub Categories |_  " |_&nbsp"
you will need to access the character map
For Linux this has to be added to your menu, for windoze it is under start>Accessories>System tools

With going by the little bit you said, make sure it all uploaded. Check the folder

/includes/templates/YOURCUSTOMTEMPLATE

and make sure you see the file called template_info.php. If it is not there, then it didn't install properly. Try installing it again.
If it IS there, go to you admin screen , tools, Template Selection
The new template should be listed on the right side under the EDIT button. Click on EDIT and choose the New Template. Then open your Online Catalog and see how it looks.

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

Hello.

I am a new Zenner.... , and I TOTALLY love this template!! It is very easy, in a sense. lol.

I have read through the post on this template as well searches upon searches. Being new with Zencart, I am not comfortable in making changes and then uploading to see if I it worked. Although, I have done this so far. I am at a point that I am clueless.

I have several problems, that I know are very easy, I just can't figure them out. So, please help....

  1. How do I remove all links (Home/Log In/MyACccount) from the top navigation bar and move them to the horizontal navigation bar?

  2. How do I remove the logo that still lingers? I have tried everything, well obvious I didn't because it still lingers... As last result I deleted the image.

  3. There is a lot of white space behind the header and each side. I would like to replace it with the image of the middle section. How do I do that? What is the proper wording and where do I put it?

  4. How can I make the Horizontal NAvBar one color, from left to right (removing the grey)?

  5. How can I extend the stripes down about another inch? I don't want to take it to the bottom, but just a little bit more.

  6. How do I change the background of the body from white to the same image behind the header?

  7. Is there a way to universally change ALL fonts on the site to blue, except for the fonts in the blue navigation bar?

  8. On my blue navigation bar, how do I add shopping cart and My Account links? I thought at one time I had seen them already in the .php files, but they aren't working.

Version: Zen Cart 1.3.8a

Thank you in advance for helping out!!

How I fix this?

I have a forum set up and the info sidebox the forum link works, but if you go to use the same link from the info drop down you get a page not found error. I don't understand why one works and the other dose not?
Thanks

There not the same. The sidebox is set to go to:
shop.nilandsplace.com/radio/radiohelp/index.php

and the top dropdown is set to go to:
shop.nilandsplace.com/radio/index.php

It is missing /radiohelp/:blush:

The website is located at https://www.funkymunkys.ca

You will have to edit 2 files to move the dropdown menu. They are:

/templates/apple_zen/common/tpl_main_page.php and tpl_header.php

In tpl_main_page.php look at or around line 172. You should see this:

<!--bof-drop down menu display-->
        <?php require($template->get_template_dir('tpl_drop_menu.php',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'common'). '/tpl_drop_menu.php');?>
        <!--eof-drop down menu display-->

Basically, your are going to cut and paste that code from tpl_main_page.php to tpl_header.php

Insert the lines in tpl_header.php between these at or around line 60

            <div id="navMainSearch">
              <?php require(DIR_WS_MODULES . 'sideboxes/search_header.php'); ?>
            </div>
INSERT THE LINES HERE
          </div>
        </div>

You will have to adjust your .css files to move your Logo down below the dropdown menu.

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

Thank you JTheed that worked fabulously!! I just moved it up, and since I have home, login, and shopping cart links all in the drop down bar, I decided to omit the header navigation. Doing that made it all line up nice, I just had to move the center body section up to the top to get it all together.

Thanks alot for your quick response.

I have a few more questions that I haven't had much luck in finding the answers to if anyone would be able to answer:

  1. I just noticed as I was flipping around pages on the site that after I changed my sideboxes to be different colors..as seen here:

http://funkymunkys.ca/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1

Does anyone know how to stop the little gray squares from popping up in there?

  1. I noticed at the bottom of the page just before the footer areas...that the borders of the center content area are missing on the left and right sides adjacent to the corner.

  2. My site name logo at the top appears fine in firefox but in IE it's missing the brown bars on the right hand side. Any ideas how to make it not extend past the end in IE?

In your Stylesheet.css around line 55 or below, remove the background gif. It's under the h3.rightBoxHeading

In stylesheet.css around line 437 find:

#bottomwrapper {
   top:  2.18em
}

change it to be :

#bottomwrapper {
   top:  0.18em
}

Awesome, once again my hat is off to you. That did the trick for both of those problems :)

This is the best I could do so far:
Stylesheet.css around line 397 under logoWrapperOuter change the width to be 85.5 em

at #logoIMG change the width to 997px

In the stylesheet_header_menu.css around line 44 change the width to 84.8em.

The best you could do so far.....to me is perfection. I had been playing with the #logoIMG, not realizing I had to change other places.

Thank you very much.

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

I have some issues with this template... actually, right now I have two problems to solve and couldn't find it in the thread...

  • I've installed zen cart in english and portuguese, when i try to see some product it shows just a blank page, in english it is perfect.

  • The search box the should be only in the top of the page is in the right menu, and I can't take it out (and want to).

Thanks! I'm kinda newbie in Zen Cart, so, excuse some error.

My site if anybody want to see what I'm talking is http://hearttoheart.com.br/loja/
