Apple Zen Support Thread

Since fixed some of the queries so at least I am starting understand the principles but still have a few problems which i am sure have been answered ten times before but I can't find them in the support thread.

I removed two sections from the DDown menus and copied the 'HOME' or 'catalog' header and submenus to position two (leaving five). Thru stylesheet adjusted header width to 20% -that worked BUT the submenus still are at old size.

Q1 --how to adjust width of each to match new header size?

Q2 --- I can see that the EZ pages work with info items but sitemap is now altered so need to adjust that. How??

Q3 --- I the new BOOKS header I need to make each a book with a URL link "At Home" etc. I thought I had defined these OK but for the life of me I cannot work out how to substitute/ link and change the name for each of the existing four.

I am moving my store and decided to upgrade to apple zen.
I have a few mods I can't figure out,

1. I made the header narrow, and added a custom background. My background doesn't go up into the header.
2. The mouse over for the menu is still green even though I changed the skin to blue. Is there a built in blue, or grey I can change it to?
3. I am not sure I want the echo of categorizes at the top when I have such a nice menu. How would I remove the categories in the header above the menu?

Okay found where the hover color changes inthe header menu css. Played with it a little more to find where to put my background to each side.
I still can't figure it out, I have this giant white space on either side of the narrow menu.
That is all I need to change to load the rest of this site.
Thanks to anybody who can answer how to get the background on the white space.

1 - I am wanting to use the drop down menu for the categories and for the products to then show on the drop down menu...I presume this is possible? I have re-named the menu items along the top and now want to add in the products. When I go to add a product with one word, it works fine (replace 'HEADER_TITLE_NEW_PRODUCTS' in tpl drop menu file) as long as there is no space. This is a problem as some of my products have two words. Am I doing this wrong? Where should I add them so they will show up in the drop down menu?

2 - How can I make the line of categories (along the top of the drop down menu) neatly fit the whole width?

I would like help in moving items in submenus.

I would like to move the submenu items (all products, new products etc.) under the Categories heading. When I try this, the search and specials items move fine, the others don't and I don't understand why.

I would also like to give the EZ pages, which work, their own heading - perhaps moving them to the same vertical as contact us.

Can anyone explain how I should be doing this?

Also, I am having some problems with page movement which I would be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction for fixing it!

You need to make the header part narrow, there are instructions how to do so in the stylesheet.css file and the read me file from the zip.

2 - You have to narrow the header. There are instructions how to do so in the stylesheet.css file and the read me file. You may get a little side slighty not narrowed if that happens reply here and I can show you how to fix that

@Cosplay. I'm not an expert at this, but from looking at the css file, it seems you have nothing on that page.. So if you know how to fix that, that's your problem.

I'm not sure what exactly. But I ran a search on the word FAQ and the relevant places it came up in were as follows:

/includes/modules/pages/gv_faq - header_php.pp
/includes/languages/english/gv_faq.php
/includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_gv_faq_default.php

So before you take any further steps be sure that you have all those files that's what I would suggest.

I never had an faq page to start with so I followed the tutorial to make a faq.php files in each of those folders. After I made them I linked it like this.

"<li><a href="<?php echo zen_href_link(FILENAME_faq); ?>"><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_faq; ?></li>

With the default apple zen template there is a FAQ page.. It's named GIFT Certificate FAQ. I haven't tried adding an extra page yet, so i'll give it a try today and if I get it i'll tell you how to.

Aso can you link me to that tutorial you used?

Well I was thinking of just FAQ I never thought about that page lol.

I think that's a longer way.

If you go to the Zen Cart admin page then go to tools --> Define Page editors --> then chose 'define_page_2.php'

Then just follow that guide to getting it on the page, I haven't actually had time to try it today but I think this is an easier way and i'll definately be trying it.

Well the thing is I kinda disabled that or deleted it when I was setting the cart up a long time ago =|.

Have you checked config, page status, define page status - you might have disabled it there.
