After all the mods you've worked with, you're not serious are you? :shocking:
There are 3 files in the zip. How hard can it be?

  • /readme.txt (surely that's not it)
  • /admin/shipworks.php (probably this one!)
  • /admin/includes/init_includes/overrides/init_admin_auth.php (surely that's not it, based on your knowledge of other mods you've written and installed)

Re: shipworks plugin

First of all, I want to thank the people that made this mod possible ($$ - contact me)...
In my opinion, Shipworks is the only affordable shipping solution on the market today, and it's really a shame they don't officially support ZenCart.

So with that said, it seems there's a part of the mod that's not working correctly...
it has to do with the order totals / discounts and the way they're handled in Shipworks.

We use "Quantity Discounts" and they dollar amount is not being read as a negative value against the total.

I found a section of code in the shipworks.php file stating...

 // Coupons \ Discounts are added to the totals table as positive values,
            // though they should reflect as negative values on the order total.
            if ($class == "ot_coupon" ||
                $class == "ot_gv" ||
                $class == "ot_lev_discount" ||
                $class == "ot_qty_discount")
            {

Whatever the original programmer was trying to do, didn't work.
All discounts are still summed as positive values in Shipworks, which skews the total dollar amounts dramatically...
not to mention creates customer service / invoicing nightmares.

So can anyone help fix this?
I'm sure it's not terribly difficult, everything else appears to work great, so I'm assuming 99% of the work is done...
the discounts simply need to be read as a negative value in Shipworks.

As it stands, this mod creates incorrect order totals.

Re: shipworks plugin

SOLUTION:

The variable "ot_qty_discount" should actually be "ot_quantity_discount"...that's it.

Re: shipworks plugin

Thanks for that - this was ported from OsCommerce and works fine in most situations. When I get time, I'll dig back into it because there have been a few other little things like this that has come up.

Re: shipworks plugin

Actually...

I'm using the SoftwareGuys "Quantity Discounts" mod...
I had thought this mod was already part of ZenCart. My bad.

That's where the change stems from...
I think he uses (read: overwrites) the original ZC code and slightly changes it,
so your shipworks code is probably correct for a base install.

See, I don't have the old ZenCart version in my "Modules > Order Total" list anymore...
when I installed the mod it took over the original version in the admin,
which is why I thought it was the original version.

Anyway, my change above is still relevant to anyone using SoftwareGuys enhanced version of "Quantity Discounts"....
which is an integral mod if you plan to offer any quantity discounts.

My apologies...it's all so confusing! :wacko: :wink:

P.S. Delia...pm me your Paypal email, I'd like to send a thank you for this mod.

Re: shipworks plugin

This also fixes the same problem with quantity discounts:

Find this in shipworks.php:

// Coupons \ Discounts are added to the totals table as positive values,
// though they should reflect as negative values on the order total.
if ($class == "ot_coupon" ||
$class == "ot_gv" ||
$class == "ot_lev_discount" ||
$class == "ot_qty_discount")
{

Change to:

// Coupons \ Discounts are added to the totals table as positive values,
// though they should reflect as negative values on the order total.
if ($class == "ot_coupon" ||
$class == "ot_gv" ||
$class == "ot_lev_discount" ||
$class == "ot_group_pricing" ||
$class == "ot_quantity_discount")
{

Re: shipworks plugin

Great contrib! I started using it, and have essentially had no issues at all. And as a note, I was told by tech support at ShipWorks that the Zen integration is nearly done.

But I do have one issue, that I need help with:

When I make change in ZenCart, that change the status, the new status is not being reflected in SW, even after a download.

Now it occurs to me that this could be a timing issue again as my server is 2 time zones to the east of me. I was told (on the SW forum), that SW checks the "Last Modified" field so it knows if it needs to update the status from the database.

However, I'm looking at an example where the ZenCart had an update at 12:02 pm, and the SW "Last Modified" field is at 9:54 AM, and that order isn't updating from the ZenCart database.

Anyone else see this? Or know how it get resolved?

Re: shipworks plugin

Yes, this is frustrating, and I don't know how to fix it. Hopefully it will be fixed when zencart is officially supported, perhaps in the upcoming release of Shipworks v3.

Until then, we are mainly paying attention to local status only.

Re: shipworks plugin

Hi Everyone!

I'm VERY interested in adding this mod to my zencart, but I was wondering if anyone has a demo of it set up?

I just want to "see" what it looks like before I spend time installing the mod (I've had my share of problems with my zen cart already).

Thanks,

Jake

The following relevant comment was recently posted on the Shipworks official forum by one of their support agents:

The Zen Cart module is not (yet) officially supported (it was developed by a third party). Assuming it works similarly to our OS Commerce module, any time a status is changed in OS Commerce, the last modified date/time on that order is changed in your OS Commerce database. The next time you click the download button in ShipWorks, it would pull any status changes since the last download. We hope to have official Zen Cart support in place very soon.

Thanks,

Wes
Interapptive, Inc.

Since this function is supposed to work in the official OSCommerce integration, chances are they will have it for ZenCart as well once it's official.

Re: shipworks plugin

Yes, I was on that thread over there. It's it would be nice to get that function working. It makes shipworks very hard to use without it. Yet it's such an awesome program I wouldn't do without it even so.

Re: shipworks plugin

I'm currently on the ShipWorks 30-day trial, this could be awesome and save LOTS of time and money.

I imported my ZenCart orders perfectly, and just processed my first shipment.
Shipworks correctly posted back to ZenCart and added the tracking ... two things I'd like to modify, though, if possible:

  1. I've got some custom Status', so I'd rather it change the status to "Shipped" as opposed to "Delivered".
  2. I noticed that although it updated the status in ZenCart, it chose to NOT notify the customer. (the red "x" on Customer Notified) ... I'd like the customer notified, of course, unless ShipWorks is doing this in the background w/o my knowing it (as I said, I'm still a newbie to Shipworks)

Where in the code for the plugin can I make these two modifications?

Thanks in advance,
Fred

Re: shipworks plugin

You don't need to modify anything in the code for this. Shipworks can be set up to send the emails for you. That's how I do it.

You'll need to modify the email template, and will need to get into their template system. But all emails are saved for you, so you can see what you've sent out to folks. And you can have them include the tracking number with a link.

I've switched over to using shipworks for my invoices, email, and of course shipping labels. I now have my logo on all of my shipping labels.

For USPS, you should use the Endicia integrations over stamps.com. It's much more customizeable. And speaking of customs :smile:, it even automates the customs form for international shipping.

It's very powerful.

But note, that if you make changes to status in ZenCart, they won't update in ShipWorks. But you can change status in SW and forward it to ZC. However, new orders will import just fine.

Re: shipworks plugin

Thanks kehri for the answers.

This module is simply the oscommerce mod altered for zen cart. All I know is that it works for most folks and I really can't answer any detailed questions - most specifically because I don't use Shipworks. I had used the trial version to get this done.

The code mainly is for importing the new orders into Shipworks and is supposed to update the order status in zen if changed in Shipworks. It does not update orders in shipworks if changed in zen.

Only imports new orders!

Only changes status in zen if changed in Shipworks.

Is not intended to do anything else.

Re: shipworks plugin

Yes, it does all of those things without a hitch. And it's sooooo much faster than any other shipping method I've tried.

If I can just get it to update from Zen (on the status changes), it'll be quite awesome. The only other item on my wish list is to get the full status change history from Zen (which is that commented out function at the bottom of shipworks.php). I'm going to try to chase this up some more over at ShipWorks, and will post here if I have some success.

I think that it's very close to being fully done.

Re: shipworks plugin

First, THANKS to whoever created this plugin.

Second ... any chance (if the author or someone else who can hack it) that someone can modify it to be compatible with Google Checkout status? When I submit a label via Endicia or UPS on Google Checkout orders, it updates the status to "Delivered" .. however, as those of you who use GoogleCheckout know, you have to mark it "Google Shipped" in order to close out the order on Google Checkout, get paid, and archive the order as shipped.

I've attempted manually updating the "Online Status" to "Google Shipped", but that doesn't work ... it DOES update on ZenCart's end, but I guess since it's happening remotely, it doesn't write this change over to GoogleCheckout, so although it says "Delivered" or "Google Shipped" in ZenCart (after updating Online Status manually from Delivered to Google Shipped), when I login to Google Checkout, the order is still listed there as unshipped ... and of course, you don't get paid until ilt ships.

Thanks,
Fred

Re: shipworks plugin

When our echecks come in they go into pending, once they clear they go into processing.

In shipworks the ones that clear still show pending, but on the web admin show processing because they cleared, any suggestions?

Re: shipworks plugin

Would someone please post a working copy of the shipworks.php file? The one in the downloads section is old and has all the errors in it that have been fixed. I've made an effort to follow the thread and make the fixes but not all repairs are easily made using the directions here.

Please attach a copy of your repaired shipworks.php to a reply to this post or add it to the downloads section.

Thanks

Tom

Re: shipworks plugin

Here's mine. I think I only made one minor change, if I recall. But it's working as far as the functionality I described earlier in the thread.

If I missed some other changes, can you tell me what they were?
