Product search within admin

Does the search box in the Admin -> Catalog -> Categories/Products work?
I've searched for valid Product Names and Models but never get a result.
I've one Category with 11000+ products in it so selecting just one to modify is impossible without this.

Further investigation shows that the search does work, but not for any of the products in that category with 11000+ entries.

Why should a category be excluded from the admin search engine?

I had the same problem with easy populate.. The prodcuts showed in the search when I made a change to the product. Try moving all of the products to a differnt catagory or rename the catagory..

Significantly, because of the quantity of products in this category, I did use EasyPopulate. I'll have to study the database to see if there are any differences between these, and products that can be searched.
Tried editing a product - no joy.
And because of the quanty of products its not practical to move them, unless there's a 'mass move' command.

Try doing a database backup and then Admin->Tools->Store Manager->Reset ALL Products Master Categories ID

Thank you sir...... Its people like you is why I dumped OSC for zen cart. You just can't find that type of support with OSC..
