Guy's I really need some help here! I have been trying to fix this for a week!!!!!!

HI ALL, I moved my site on my server! I have the server here in house with me. Its A linux FedoraCore 6 running Apache of coarse and I have installed webimin to be able to handle things from where ever I am of coarse. I had it in the root directory. Well Because of wanting to put other stores on here as well I created a virtual server and moved it into it own /home/petestown/public_html folder. It is working well and all the URL's find it no problem but if you look at the page which many of you have there is know style sheet being used and the database is only bringing up text with none of the products pictures are appearing? https://www.petestown.com https://www.petesboots.net https://www.peteswesternwear.us Dose anyone have any ideas?????? PLEASE!!!!

                                                                                Rich:lamo:

Well yes the path is right and that is where they are at!!!!! And here is the config file it seems right to me? It seems like something is blocking it

This can not be correct:
http://76.245.94.169petestown/

It must be
http://76.245.94.169/petestown/

But even that is not correct, should be:

http://www.petestown.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=72

Ok, I see now, you set it wrong in your config file.
http://www.petestown.com points to petestown/public_html/, the public_html folder is the only folder visible to the browser, it's your root folder.

Re: Guy's I really need some help here! I have been trying to fix this for a week!!!!!!

OK I see what you are saying!!!! But how or why did that change by moving the site from /var/www/html/petes/petescart to /home/petestown/public_html ?? I moved it to make it static and virtual and the server is working because it is finding it. The site was working great before. And also where is all the color of the page "ie the style sheet" ? So yes I see the link is wrong so how would it be fixed? I also cannot get to my admin pannel?

I just seen your last post yes public_html is the root folder now for this and has been set to be viewed by the public so what makes that diffrent than before? I am lost and really not trying to be stupid.

Re: Guy's I really need some help here! I have been trying to fix this for a week!!!!!!

I am talking about your zencart config file.

Because public_html is your current folder, it's the folder of your website, so you can't put http://www.petestown.com/public_html. Am I making any sense here?

Once you use the correct path and still experience this problem then your apache virtual host config file is not set correctly. But now, lets try to fix the zen config file first.

Re: Guy's I really need some help here! I have been trying to fix this for a week!!!!!!

No I don't understand that? This is not /var/www/html/ so it is not the servers root. It is redirect to a user folder! So yes it is the public_html folder for that user and the one that that the url is pointing to but if thats all that will ever be in that users folder then how does it effect what it see's? It should still execute it should it not?

Re: Guy's I really need some help here! I have been trying to fix this for a week!!!!!!

Well I made them, I took and created another directory petescart and placed it inside of the public_html file. https://www.petestown.com Now I have another error at the top of the page regarding the database! ANd I changed the path in the Virtual Server to reflect this here is the new ADMIN CONFIG and the Regular Config is below that

Re: Guy's I really need some help here! I have been trying to fix this for a week!!!!!!

  1. Why are you redirecting "petestown.com" to "76.245.94.169" instead of resolving directly?
  2. Why are you trying to run it from a subdirectory ?
  3. Why the complicated vhost setup ?

Re: Guy's I really need some help here! I have been trying to fix this for a week!!!!!!

Hi Dr Byte,

The URL's are forwarded from 1on1 to this serverIts a custom in hose server here at the store. We are going to have a few stores on here. So I have a static IP the one you see. Having on static IP and several or a few stores we have researched and found that creating multiple apache Virtualy host is the way to do it. When I first started it was in the root and working great. I just coppied that to the new directory after I set up the virtual server and thats how this mess began.it finds it and sends it where it needs to be obviously but it has lost the style sheet and the communication with database. It seems like its there but its all just not communicating
                                             Rich

Re: Guy's I really need some help here! I have been trying to fix this for a week!!!!!!

Your IP forwarding is losing the subdirectory information.
That's what's causing the stylesheet to not load.

http://www.petestown.com/petestown is forwarding to http://76.245.94.169
And, since the stylesheet doesn't exist without the subdirectory, it cannot load it.

You need to either reconfigure your ip forwarding or reconfigure your vhosts.
