I've installed the RSS mod by Andrew Berezin
v 2.1.4 14.02.2008 15:26

After a few trials the rss is working but I'm not getting pictures.
I checked in google reader and the images are attached (ie. you can dl them) but they're not shown.

I turned the Gzip compression off (my pages load faster now.. go figure!)

All I want is to put the rss feed on my blogger blog and that it shows pictures. And I don't know how.

a rss feed of new products without pictures isn't very useful :/

I did copy-paste the install.sql code, send it, and the same errors appeared:

• 9 statements processed (green)
• Error: cannot insert configuration_key "" because it already exists (red)
• Note: 1 statements ignored. See "upgrade_exceptions" table for additional details (yellow)

Then i used the uninstall.sql and just one green message appeared:

• 5 statements processed. Good :)

I used again the install.sql and.. the same errors appeared :(:(

i have the same problem like this but i can't find the answer from this thread...is there anyone can help me plzzz?...

I am baffled....I have this installed for new products only...when the RSS feed button is clicked and they go to the page, the get ALL products that are new and that have been recently edited?

The new products page clearly only shows the latest items.....but the feed adds in products that have also been edited....how can I remove those items?

I checked the files and settings and just cannot see how this would be happening.....thanks!

I love this mod! Its been so useful for promotions. I combined the New Products Feed with the Feedburner service from Google and have been able to automatically send tweets with links to my latest products. Very handy. :smile:

One little bit of oddness lately however: I've been updating old products by optimizing their meta tags and adding promo videos from Youtube, but when I click the 'update' button in admin they are showing up in my New Products Feed. Not so great. I don't want to spam my followers with inaccurate tweets.

Very odd. When I view the feed myself in a reader they aren't there, nor do they show up as new on the New Arrivals page.

I've read through this entire thread to see how the New Arrivals Feed determines what is considered 'new' - I figured it would have something to do with the date added, not date modified. I was hoping there might be a mention of a setting or a function I could edit, but I haven't seen anything.

I'll just manually delete the feeds that appear in my cache folder after I make modifications to older products, and I've turned-off the feature at Feedburner that sends out the New Arrivals tweets while I do these old product edits. Hopefully they won't appear as NEW! again when I turn that service back on.

So you can see what is on the new page....but when you click the RSS feed button it is showing all the items she has recently edited as well ---- in my head it makes sense that the RSS feed is pulling by date....and of course the last date of edit would make it seem like a new item...but how can we adjust this?

Yes, now I see. Very strange. And the sequence of goods other than new products. Be sure to check and correct.
I am just now preparing a new version. It will be corrected this error.

That's the exact issue I'm having as well. Updated/edited products showing as "New".

Mine is set to 90 days now, but it was originally set to 30 and still doing it....

I could not get this error.

I did the following:

1. I downloaded and installed rss_feed_2-1-4
2. added product - http://test.zen-cart.su/matrox_g200_mms_add_19082011-p-193.html
3. edited product - http://test.zen-cart.su/matrox_g200_mms_edit_19082011-p-1.html
4. Both pages show only a single product:
   http://test.zen-cart.su/products_new.html
   http://test.zen-cart.su/index.php?main_page=rss_feed&feed=new_products

What addons do you use?

Andrew I am not sure you are understanding the problem...

On the page below you will see our NEWEST products...these are all the products that the store owner has added to her store in the last 30 days...

So technically when you click the RSS feed the first item you see should be the Orange Cream Soap since that was the last NEW product....

But if you click on the feed:

http://www.thesoapboxco.com/index.php?main_page=rss_feed&feed=products_new

You will see a LOT more products.....and the Orange Cream is no where to be found...what is appearing are products that have been EDITED...

You cannot replicate the issue with one product.....

Try adding 5 products to your test store.....

Check your feed...it will be ok....

Now go back and edit the first product you entered....then check your feed again and I bet that will appear at the top of the list....

Does this make more sense?

I can not duplicate the problem you are having. You may not have installed it right. Go back and take a look making sure all files up loaded to there right place, and make sure the file size is right. Try reading through this thread and use some of the suggestions people have added and your problems may just go away. My feed works just like it is suppose to. The last product I added is right at the top. Check your files and the thread again for suggestion.
