Fast and Easy Checkout

This is certainly off topic, but there seems to be a discussion about Numinix mods not being updated on ZenCart.com.

Actually, we have attempted to update dozens of our mods, but were rejected because our documentation includes links back to our support system and website. We spend hundreds of hours writing these free plugins to share with the community. We would expect that Zen Cart would allow us to link back to our own website to provide support for our software within our documentation, but this is not allowed. We will continue to support Zen Cart and provide plugins that the core developers do not have time to complete, but we are unable to upload the packages to this site at this time. We are working on creating a secondary documentation which will meet the Zen Cart requirements. Thank you for your concerns, and thank you DivaVocals for your explanation to Rued.

I am on a Linux server with zencart 1.5.1

Besides many edits required in core code that I think I can do despite having edit_orders already installed, there are two things that concern me in reading over the install.

I do not want to mess with the css_js_loader. Can I install FEC without it?

I have Order Steps already installed. I think I can handle that, but any tips appreciated.

I would highly recommend installing CSS/JS loader from experience this makes the website run much quicker and also makes CSS/JS only load on the pages that it is needed. The order steps shouldn't be needed. And some of those core edits are optional.

I would recommend you install this as it is packaged and with CSS/JS loader, as that will help your performance. However if you aren't familiar with CSS/JS Auto-loader I would recommend looking at the sample auto-loader to get an idea how to build one, along with the ones with Fast & Easy Checkout.

The biggest issue has been with documentation issues with plugin submissions that they weren't in compliance. Fast & Easy Checkout and CSS/JS Loader were the first approved in months and now we are hoping to keep providing more plugins each week.

I've carefully installed it without the js_loader.

The css on the checkout pages is weird. the input boxes for address look like stairs accross the page. I don't think that is intentional.

If I can't fix this and need to revert to my back up to get my shop up and live again, how does one go about just installing the COWA mod? That is no longer supported by the author but I see it is included in FEC. Also, I wonder why in the check out process with FEC, COWA comes as the last option for the customer at the bottom of the page?

Is it possible I missed a sql file? I see a folder with "previous sql updates" but does than mean there is a current one not in the folder I need to run?

Ummmmm. COWOA is still very much supported by ALL of it's current authors/collaborators.. (and the COWOA code is going to be a part of the Zen Cart v1.6 release..) Not sure why you believe otherwise..

Found the new COWA for 1.5.1 was wallowing in an old thread, apparently.

I think I will back out of FEC and just do this...

I had the same issue.
I had to kill fec_global.css to get rid of the problem.

Are you using CSS/JS Loader?

It was also messing up all the display of the configuration items in Admin for me.

NOTE:
We wanted an extremely streamlined site and I have to admit I've done some serious modifications to the Classic template.
For the Checkout Page I used a combination of CSS, the original Classic and fec checkout page templates to get the look I needed. I didn't necessarily need the split page. You could retain the fec split page and do your alterations in CSS

We don't take online payments and we only ship UPS that's why those options have been removed.
Basically I turned off all payment & Shipping modules except Money Order and Flat Rate with some additional mods to CSS & the code to not display those items on the checkout page.

Just installed 1.14.0 on Zen Cart 1.5.1. All appears to work fine except that I can now log in without a password. COWOA is set to false in admin. Is there another option that i have missed. Any ideas?

I was seeing that behavior too but I don't use COWA so I guess I turned it off and it worked Ok so I didn't go back to see if it still was a problem.

Try clearing your browser cache or use another browser.
Personally I test with ie, ff, Chrome & Safari

No it didn't... I also have lots of css changes to my template. I admit i just backed out of this install as it was too freaky a result and all I needed was the COWA mod.

hello.

i have added the fec module and everything is working fine apart from the order status page does not show the download link for the downloadable file.
the success page shows the download link fine.

does anyone have an idea of what could be the problem?
