Event Calendar v3

Found the problem!! :clap:
The file that controls the way calender listing is displayed is modules/events_calendar_listing.php

I uploaded the file that came with the original mod. I just downloaded the updated files found here on this thread, and uploaded just that file to my server and now it displays correctly all the events!

Checking both files now to see what's the piece of code that was causing the problem. Hopefully someone else with the same issue can find it helpful.

Re: Event Calendar v3

Now there are five events showing. Well done.

BTW w3c css validator for the red 4 page showed 44 errors.

Thank you! I thought that was taken care, but I guess I should have checked just to make sure.

Re: Event Calendar v3

Me again. I found a bug on the admin>events_manager.php file. Everytime an event is edited, extra '\\' are added to any URL that is entered in the event description. Any ideas how this can be fixed?

Thanks a bunch!

Re: Event Calendar v3

Hi there,
I have the Event calendar up and running on our site now, but am trying to modify it a little, once a day has been selected on the calendar I would like to replace the link which contains "select_event" and send the customer straight through to the product link.

So from this page:
http://thelakedistrictwalker.co.uk/cart/index.php?main_page=events_calendar&_day=01&_month=05&_year=2012

I would like to take people here:
http://thelakedistrictwalker.co.uk/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3043

instead of here:
http://thelakedistrictwalker.co.uk/cart/index.php?main_page=events_calendar&select_event=3

Is this possible?

Many thanks
John

No need to include the "ENGINE=MyISAM" part at all.

Re: Event Calendar v3

Attention All

Large parts of this mod will not work with php5.3, due to the prevalence of HTTP_GET_VARS, HTTP_POST_VARS and probably other bits of code - as indicated by the following post:

http://www.zen-cart.com/entry.php?2-Is-your-code-safe-to-use-on-PHP-5-3

Bits found to no longer work are
Add Event button in Admin > Extras > Events Manager
View Year and View Selected Month (aka Go) Buttons in sidebox

I am going to try to fix the problems, but please do not hold your breath waiting for my fix.

Re: Event Calendar v3

FYI

In attempting to update this mod to php5.3, changing occurences of = split to = preg_split or = explode, causes start/finish dates to display as a certain set date, in my case 30 November 2011.

However, preserving = split displays the correct dates.

The problem lines are:

admin\events_manager.php
line 548 list ($year, $month, $day) = split ('[/.-]', $events->fields['start_date']);
$date_start = date("F j, Y", mktime(0,0,0,$month,$day,$year));

line 551 list ($year_end, $month_end, $day_end) = split ('[/.-]', $events->fields['end_date']);
$date_end = date("F j, Y", mktime(0,0,0,$month_end,$day_end,$year_end));

includes\classes\calendar.php
line 92 list($year_start, $month_start, $day_start) = split ('[/.-]', $event->fields['start_date']);

includes\modules\events_calendar_listing.php
line 97 list($year, $month, $day) = split ( '[/.-]', $events->fields['start_date']);

line 105 list($year, $month, $day) = split ('[/.-]', $events->fields['end_date']);
$endDate = date("F j, Y", mktime(0, 0, 0, $month, $day, $year));

Solutions welcome.

Re: Event Calendar v3

Yesterday you posted the above message and two others, all referring to similar things, and in the other posts you used incorrect syntax when rewriting split() to preg_split(). So it seems that perhaps your incorrect syntax may be your problem.

Re: Event Calendar v3

Saw the reference to the delimiters in your other post and have since tried changing split to preg_split with delimiters, plus other variants as shown below, but still the start/finish dates all display as November 30, 1999 (not as November 30 2011, as incorrectly stated above)

preg_split('/[/.-]/'
preg_split('/[//.-]/'
preg_split('/[///.-]/'
preg_split('/[///./-]/'
preg_split('/[//./-]/'
preg_split('/[//./-]/'

I am at a loss what to try next.

Re: Event Calendar v3

Use another delimiter.

In preg commands the delimiter must be a unique character not used in the regular expression itself.
Apart from that you can use anything.

Re: Event Calendar v3

I have just uploaded a corrected version of this mod - Event Calendar 139h php5.3 v1.03.

The fix was preg_split('/[.-]/'.

There I was thinking the "/" immediately before the "." was a date separator, and that this "/" needed to be delimited, but removing the "/" works.

Cheers

The problem here is that your code will now not work for dates in the format y/m/d
This might not be a problem if the dates in your code are never in that format.
otherwise you can do 2 things

Use a different delimeter
e.g.
preg_split('#[/.-]#')

or backslash the / separator
e.g.
preg_split('/[/.-]/')

Re: Event Calendar v3

Thanks Wilt.

I will look into those, and if they work, I may upload another revision.

At least, the reason for the code has been exposed for all to see.
