Display price with VAT/TAX and Ex VAT/TAX

Hi, I am facing a problem here... When i check the option ex/inc in the contribution all the prices in the shop display without tax - except the product, and shopping cart. Am I doing something wrong???

Check out the FAQ at the end of the readme.txt- It tells you how to make the changes required to make the Inc/Ex mod appear for all prices.

I am having a slight problem when using the show prices inc/exc option. When this option is enabled the product price is shown as

£10.00 Inc VAT
£11.75 Ex VAT

(obviously the wrong way round).

Also when this happens, all bulk order prices and attribute price differences are showing the exc as apposed to the inc prices.

Finnally the odd thing is in the shopping cart i obtain these results:

(unit total) £10.00

Sub-Total: £11.75 Inc VAT
£10.00 Ex VAT

(The sub total and exc prices are showing perfectly here however once again the unit total is showing the exc prices as apposed to the inc prices.

Also it maybe worth noting that when the "true" option is active the product page shows:

price: £10.00 exl VAT (obviously should be showing inc prices here)
bulk prices and attribute differences are showing inc prices though...odd?

Also when the true option is active in the shopping cart:

unit total = £10.00
Sub-Total: £11.75 Ex VAT

(obviously both of these should be the other way around).

If you have any ideas as to why it is showing like this it would be much appreciated.

I thought then maybe it could be another indirectly unrelated file however to my knowledge I have not edited or added any other files that would change the price display functionality (If you wish to see the Source code of any other files please ask).

Elliot- this issue is ringing bells with me. I remember this issue coming up before but I can't remember what the resolution was off of the top of my head. I will look into it tomorrow morning.

I have strange problem with VAT/TAX and Ex VAT/TAX: in my Zen cart shop when I try to order some product (for example worth Eur 100.00 ExcVAT) as guest, price is shown like this:

PRODUCT NAME
100.00 Eur ExcVAT
117.00 Eur IncVAT

but when I try to order some product as logged in user I see this:

PRODUCT NAME
100.00 Eur ExcVAT
100.00 Eur IncVAT

so it looks like that VAT is correctly shown only for guest but not for registered logged users, not sure why?

Any help is appreciated and many thanks in advance for promt replys because I need to solve this urgently:blush:

p.s. don't get confused by 117(17) because in my country VAT is 17%:wink:

ZenCart does not know how to calculate the tax for the user- You will need to check your Tax locations and/or how you have set the tax to be calculated in the Admin.

Elliot- did you install the SQL patch? When you go to Admin->Config->My Store and check out the Display Prices with Tax setting, what options are you seeing?

It looks like I didnt explained in detail, sorry. It's not that I want to calculate tax for user. Here's detailed explanation through simple (and most common) example:

• my zen-cart shop is about Car Spare Parts,

• for example, when some random user visits my zen-cart shop for the first time, first thing he does is that he searches for car spare part that he needs,

• when he finds part that he needs it looks like this:

which is correct and working OK.

• If he wants to buy that item he needs to register first. So after user goes through registration process, he goes to this page so he could log in:

and at point when he is successfully logged in all items in my shop are showing prices ExcVAT (for both IncVAT and ExcVAT fields) so when that user want to order spare part he is interested for (toyota rear mirror), that item looks like this:

100.00 Eur ExcVAT
100.00 Eur IncVAT

Regarding your suggestion, I checked tax locations/rates and I my shop it's pretty simple:

• I have one default Zone/Tax rate 17%/tax class 17%

and also I double checked all admin options searching for tax setup(s) but I couldn't find anything suspicious..

Go to Admin->Config->My Store, and set Basis of Product Tax to Store. That should sort it out.

It interesting that whatever I put in "The zone my store is located in" nothing changes but main thing is that I solved my problem by replacing "Store" with "Shipping" under "My Basis of Product Tax"
