SSL Problem

Hi
I'm after reading this thread twice and I seem to be having the same problem with the padlock and the error.

I've checked the hard coded images and changed them to https:// but when I look at the source code all the links in the categories are http://, is this normal?

When I just view the images on there own the padlock is fine so I'm happy that the SSL is installed properly, I had statcounter installed but took it out and I've doubled checked the configure files.

Any help much appreciated

Re: SSL Problem

I am also having an error that I just cannot figure out what the problem is. I've adjusted the settings in the configure file, the SSL certificate is not shared.

This is the pop up I get using FireFox:

Website Certified by an Unknown Authority

Unable to verify the identity of https://www.sew-world.com.au as a trusted site.

Possible reasons for this error:
-Your browser does not recognize the Certificate Authority that issued the site's certificate.
-Your site's certificate is incomplete due to server misconfiguration.
-You are connected to a site pretending to be https://www.sew-world.com.au, possibly to obtain your confidential information.

And this is the page that comes up in IE:

The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority.

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.

SSL are confusing to me, so might even be something real simple that I am just not understanding. HELP!

Re: SSL Problem

Who issued the certificate?
Who installed the cert on your server?

I am not seeing a trusted authority associated with your cert

Re: SSL Problem

Accept the error then click on your lock and view the certificate Does not link to a cert issued by EQUIFAX...

Go HERE and click the lock and you wll see who it is issued by

There is either an issue with your cert or the way it was installed

Re: SSL Problem

pcdesigns,

Yes it was for yours

The link I provided was for comparison - where you can see the issuer and with yours you can not

Re: SSL Problem

it was purchased from kanga hosting, and they got it from rapidssl. kanga installed the ssl, so could they have installed it wrong? or would that be in my configure.php settings?

It is the certificate - either installed incorrectly or not issued correctly

Re: SSL Problem

Just to make sure I understand, the 'Issued By' should not be my business name but the actual place that issued the certificate, in this case RapidSSL?

If you looked at my example you will see that RAPID SSL is issued by Equifax Secure Inc.

Re: SSL Problem

Hello everyone. I have been able to fix many problems by reading this thread. Thank you to all of you contributors!

I do have one issue left and am not sure how to fix it. I get the error "non-secure images on this page".I have fixed all non-secure images on my checkout page except for a sign-up box for Constant Contact newsletter that I had programmers add when they were doing my skins. I would like to fix it or remove it all together and could use some help. I don't know where the source to remove it is.

I'd rather not contact the programmers because of the lousy service I received.

Thank you.

my store is at ctcpool.com/store

Re: SSL Problem

This is due to the http references to images that are in your newsletter subscribe sidebox - see if you can change these to "relative links or do not display the left column on this page and any other secure page

Re: SSL Problem

The site I'm working on at the moment is having a similar issue. I have SSL installed, which can be tested at https://www.booneskis.com (my client insisted on GoDaddy SSL, so please accept the warning you are likely to receive).

The problem is during checkout, SSL is not used. I've changed configure.php to show this:

// HTTPS_SERVER is your Secure webserver: eg-https://www.your_domain.com
define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.booneskis.com');
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.booneskis.com');

// Use secure webserver for checkout procedure?
define('ENABLE_SSL', 'true');

Shouldn't the customer be forced to an https: connection once they begin checkout?? This is my 5th Zen Cart site but the first time I've encountered this problem.

Any help would be most appreciated!

Re: SSL Problem

empirenine.

Ftp your includes/configure.php file to your local in another area and open it to insure that this file contains the "true" entry
