Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support

I would like to go back to the problem with the additional images not showing up...

Oh - BTW - nice work!!! I first encountered this effect in NetFlix, and I knew one day I would want to use it!!!

Anyway - regardless of the changes that I make from the suggestions above, I still have a problem... which I SORT OF fixed... I'll explain.

I do NOT have the old litebox
I'm using ZC 1.3.7.1

The additional images seem to want to be in /www/images/large (well - slimbox seems to think they should be there, because when I hover over them, that is the path it shows)

However, the page only "picks them up" or displays additional images if they are located in /www/images

The SLIMBOX will only DISPLAY them if they are in BOTH places:
/www/images
/www/images/large

I will keep playing with it and if I find anything will post it here.

Thanks!!!

Yeah that is the way that zencart works. The image in /images is the smaller image that gets displayed on the page, then the large version is in /images/large, this is what goes into the lightbox, that is why you need two images.

There isn't anything that can easily be done about that. Images really need to be totally reworked in zencart.

Does someone have an example of this add-on in use on a live site?

Thanks

Oh - that does suck...

BUT - what I was saying is that I needed the SAME image in both places... are you with me?

So say i have PRODUCT-1.jpg

I need these <b>3</b> images

/www/images/PRODUCT-1.jpg
/www/images/PRODUCT-1_LRG.jpg
/www/images/large/PRODUCT-1_LRG.jpg

See how the last 2 are duplicates? Is it functioning as designed still?

All my images are the same size... it's really just different aspects, or zoomed in, or front/back - type images that I want... So kind of silly to have a place for large and medium files - especially when you can carve up the whole images directory in sub-directories (or categories) - you know?

This isn't anything to do with the lightbox, even with it uninstalled you would still need three images.

Personally I use phpthumb (http://phpthumb.sourceforge.net/) to manage my images, this means that I only have one image per image. It is a good solution, but you will have to code it yourself.

You could try the image handler mod. I don't use it, so I can't say how it works or how good it is, but it seems to be very popular.

copy includes/modules/pages/product_info/jscript_slimbox.php to includes/modules/pages/page and then add

rel="lightbox[gallery]"
``` to each of the links that you want to display in a lightbox.
so - I looked into this phpthumb... looks good...
My question - is there a lot of overhead on the box to use it? Does it rescale images on the fly?
(sorry - I didn't really PLAY with it yet or i would probably already know the anwsers to those!)
No, that is the beauty of phpthumb. If you configure it to have an unlimited cache (should be fine, if you run into space issues a few months down the line you can tweek this) then the thumbnail is only ever created once; the first time it is called. After that, the cached copy is served and no image processing is done.
Basically you have one high res image, then it takes care of the rest. It can also do lots of clever cropping so that all your thumbnails look the same. You can even use this with lightbox images, so that they always have a maximum width or height, which I think is very useful.
Re: Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support
Very nice. It's on my TO-DO list!!
hey - I posted something (sort of for you) on some other thread but can't find it... duh! (was I drunk??)
Anyway - it had to do with z-index issues with slimbox and treemenu not playing nice... (hmmm - I should search for treemenu... OK - I should be able to find it now!)
I sure wouldn't mind a feature on this forum that shows all my recent posts...
Re: Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support
I did find it... but no reply ... yet ... wink wink... :)
I'm playing with z-index'ing now in the admin "layout boxes controller" section... setting them up in the 1000's range...
BTW - what the heck is the "Single Column" sort order?? Do they mean the MAIN/MIDDLE area?
Re: Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support
Hello there,
This mod is fantastic, and this mod is on my list of donations to make to contributors this month.
I was struggling with the drop menu conflict with this mod. I have css dropdown menu by jettrue. I tried the class hide, adding the divs to the relevant place and I have the latest version of slimbox. In firefox it is fine now, it is just IE7 that shows the clash.
I have tried reducing the z-inde on the css for the dropdown menu. Unless it is best to reduce the numbers to single figures? I appreciate any help with this.
Thanks in advance,
Heathenmagic :smile:
Re: Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support
I see what you mean. The image blocks the menu.
I think this may have something to do with the fact that your page sits inside an almost uncountably large number of nested divs and tables. I have tested the menu with the apple zen template, which looks like it uses the same menu as yours and it is fine.
Try changing the #slimboxwrapper z-index to 0 !important, in fact put the z-index of #slimboxwrapper > div to 0!important too. You shouldn't reduce the z-index on the css dropdown.
See if that works, but I think that the issue is probably that IE is getting confused by all the nesting.
Re: Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support
Hello there,
Thanks for your reply! I amended the bottom of Slimbox css below, I might have got it slightly wrong. With regards to the extra divs, would they lie within the css, as I have changed template and the css for this one seems a bit fuller. I have amended tpl_main_page.php slightly too. I think it may be best to try and flesh out these extra divs. Thanks in advance
#slimboxWrapper {
z-index:0; !important
padding:0px;
margin:0px;
border:none;
border-collapse:collapse;
display:none;
visibility:hidden;
clear:none;
background-color:inherit;
}
Re: Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support
Hello there,
Ignore the above. I loaded an old stylesheet from my last template and the glitch doesn't show up. Thanks for the heads up about the cause of the problem.
Regards,
Heathenmagic :smile:
Still looks like the same problem to me, are you sure that you got it sorted?
I think that somewhere along the line your template might have got a bit messed up because you whole page sits inside the headwrapper tag, it is all a bit odd. Is it a custom template, do you have a lot of mods installed?
Re: Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support
Hello there,
I admit, I am not adept with css etc. I have used a new template, and I merged some elements that I liked from the previous template css. I have just taken out some erroneous css elements that are no longer needed, then taking out chunks (backup saved) to see what solves it.
