Sorry, me again.

I have now generated the 2 log files from the PayPal module. Can someone take a look at see if this gives any clues? I have spoke to Todd at PayPal today and he thinks ZenCart is not passing the country to them. My account which I have used for testing has the country set to United Kingdom.

Just wanted to let you know i am getting the exact same error as you . i guess the author is in denial about this.

i installed a fresh copy and it happens

also if you use the express checkout button the paypal generated big ugly one before you click checkout it goes to the paypal site youy log in then you come back to your site to complete payment

somewhere during this process the shipping gets removed from the price :censored:

im surprised you zencart was released with wpp when it clearly has not been tested for uk users :frusty:

Hi, Andrew here, I am new to Zen Cart but enjoying it already.

This problem is not unique to the new version and website payments pro set up, if that helps narrow down the problem.

I have just installed a fresh install of version 1.3.7 and spent some time finding my way around and learning how to use the override system.

I set up the PayPal standard payment module and tested it, which worked fine. I then added the PayPal Express checkout module and got the same error when trying to complete the checkout process.

On removing the express checkout, the standard module worked again. I had however also installed the UK zones prior to this so they still may be involved.

So, if you've not installed 1.3.7.1 or haven't applied the 1.3.7 patch, I'm not surprised at you getting various kinds of errors.

As far as I can tell, the error situation currently in discussion here is related to using PayPal Express in UK mode.
Granted, I haven't been able to replicate the problem as yet. At least, not in conjunction with other PayPal fixes I've suggested since 1.3.8 came out, discussed elsewhere on the forum.

I too get this error in PayPal express only. Same setup as the others here. Error with any country, not just GB or UK.

Would it help if you used our API and other settings so that you would be using the UK PayPal Flow system? I am not sure if that will help you replicate the problem?! I have spoke to a few people in the UK, all experiencing the same problem when using this setting.

If you think that this would help (I will change all the API settings & password after you have tried it out, for security) then please let me know. I hate to go on, but really need to see if we can find a work around for this.

Uk user here also.

I've just installed 1.3.8a and trying to get website payments pro working express and have just got the same error.

I'll revert back to 1.3.7 for a while I guess. :blink:

Yes, using Payflow gave the error. I turned off the Payflow UK option yesterday, and it seems OK now. Is this the key to the problem??

Yes, this is what seems to be causing the problems, but without PayFlow Uk on, you will be unable to take any Maestro, Switch, Solo transactions. :(

Hopefully there will be a fix for this soon as we are losing many sales a day because of this.

I have not switched over from our old system yet as i am just testing zen cart at the moment. I have been testing on the live site though not the sandbox.

I am also in the UK and having this problem I have the latest 1.3.8a version installed, signed up for the paypal pro account,

but cannot use PayPal flowUK with out getting the (7) - field error message address Country is required,
when I do a test purchase it changes my address to United States and charges the higher zone shipping rate and then this is where the error message comes in, both on the website and on paypal express checkout.

contacted paypal they had a look and don,t know what wrong!!!asked me to reinstall again,
but looking at these threads, I am not the only one having this problem.

has anybody found out what is wrong or how to solve this problem

have changed back to using the paypal IPN and express check out via the normal paypal method and this wroks spot on

Nope, still no fiz for this at the mo. DrByte has been looking into this, but unable to replicate it. I guess this may be down to him not having a UK based PayPal account or similar. I have offered my site to look at, that way he hasnt got to replicate it, he can see it for real, but havent heard back from him.

I know they are busy people, but I do feel slightly disappointed as this has been going on for a number of weeks now :(

Be careful people. I have just noticed that the customers whos accounts do not get created properly, do not get charged the VAT also! Therefore they are being charged 17.5 % less!!! :censored:

I think we need to have this whole issue flagged up as high priority.

I will try and PM DrByte again about this, but hope he sees this as something that warrants this and not that we are just making a big deal about nothing.

This is loosing valuable orders on my site. Just gonna turn off EC no matter what the paypal user agreement says - Users can use my PP paymentsPro system instead

Yes, this is currently being looked at. I have supplied DrVyte with complete access to our site so that he can see what is going wrong. As soon as this is sorted, I am sure a fiz will be released.

I have put the full brakes on an upgrade of zen for us until this is sorted.

Yes, I have spoke to him today. He is very busy and couldnt promise that he would look at it today, but he will look at it when he has time.

I now know of 15 people in the UK that are having porblems with this, and would imagine this would increase with time, so hopefully a fix will be sorted soon.
