can't change logo

so i'm following this tutorial..

and I'm pretty sure I did everything right but the logo image hasn't changed....

Okay never mind I have it all working now that I changed it to a custom template.. But how can I change like the top background image (its now blank..)?

To create a very basic custom template (you can build from there), you need:

• includes/languages/YOUR_TEMPLATE/english.php
• includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/index.php
• includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/meta_tags.php
• includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/header.php (to change the logo)
• includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/template_info.php
• includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_header.php
• includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_footer.php
• includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/images/logo.gif
• includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/stylesheet.css

Anywhere you see a /classic/ folder, you can create a folder for your custom template. You can copy the necessary files from either the /classic/ folder, the /template_default/ folder or the parent folder.

Edit includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/template_info.php to give your template identifying information so you'll recognize it in the admin under tools->template selection.

You should be able to change the background image in the stylesheet.

What did you do? I followed that same tutorial and can't get it to work either.

well, it looks like the problem is the file
/zen/email/email_template_welcome.html
has to be changed. And it seems there is no way to override this, so the file has to be changed directly. So when upgrading, it seems this would be a problem.

Logo image is changed in

includes/languages/english/NAMEOFYOURTEMPLATE/header.php

Misty, I made that change and the zen cart logo showed up, not mine. It didn't change anything until I changed this file:
/zen/email/email_template_welcome.html and uploaded my logo to that folder.

When you changed logo in header.php file, did you
rename logo.gif to something else or still use
logo.gif?

I changed it to the name of my file.

includes/languages/english/NAMEOFYOURTEMPLATE/header.php
If your custom template has header.php file, as path shown above,
and you replaced logo.gif with your own image name, and size of new image, then it should work.
/zen/email/email_template_welcome.html
should have no effect at all on a template logo.

I named my custom template "custom", and it has that path:
/zen/includes/languages/english/custom/header.php

That folder also has create_account.php in it where I customized what the welcome e-mail says. The changes I made to the welcome e-mail text worked, but not the logo change.

In the file:
/zen/email/email_template_welcome.html

I changed this:

and it worked. (blogbannersmall.jpg is the name of my logo file) I also put my logo in the e-mail folder.

So you were attempting to change logo image in welcome email
and NOT logo in your template?

Yes--I wanted the logo that showed up in the welcome e-mail to be mine and not the default zen cart one.

because when I searched for how to change the logo on the welcome e-mail, everything pointed to that article. I didn't know there was a difference.

How are you supposed to change the logo on the welcome e-mail? What I did works, but if there is a better way, I'd like to do that. I want to make it as easy as possible for any updates so I'm not having to search for files I changed. I put my changes in a "custom" folder. but I found info that said there isn't an over-ride for the e-mail.

Instructions at above url is for changing logo image
in TEMPLATE, not welcome email.
The logo associated with welcome emails is found in
http://yourdomain.com/yourzencart/admin/images/
so no need to alter any code, you just replace that
logo.gif with your own.

Since the name of my logo was different than logo.gif, I had to change it in those files.

I just went through and changed all of my email messages to use the shop logo. I did have to modify them with a slash in front of the email folder to make them work...

Since I got it figured out before, I decided to upgrade to 1.3.8 and just did a frest install since I hadn't gotten very far.

Now I am having a weird problem. I named my logo header.jpg and uploaded it to my e-mail folder to replace the zencart logo called header.jpg.

My logo shows up in my admin control panel under tools/e-mail welcome, but when I create a test customer, the logo in the e-mail that is received is the zencart logo. So I don't get it.

I tried gezuvor's suggestion, putting the / before e-mail/header.jpg, but it doesn't work for me.

I reamed my logo banner.jpg and changed the reference in the welcome e-mail to that. It now works, but it also means in all of the e-mails where I want this logo to show up, I'll need to change all logo.jpg to header.jpg.
