Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

smoke133:

Here is what I have loaded.
Zencart 1.3.8a loaded.
SSU 3.6.7.
sitemapXML 2.1
google base froogle 1.7.1a

When I turn on "Set Auto Alias Status" and "Set Auto Alias Status", sitemapXML and google base froogle stop working. When I try to run step 1 in sitemapXML or try to create a feed, the pop up window comes up. The blank window looks like it runs for awhile then it stops. If I turn "Set Auto Alias Status" and "Set Auto Alias Status" off, sitemapXML and google base froogle starts to work again. I really like how the url looks like with the alias on. Why do they stop working with alias on?
I have a website with sitemap on and it works just fine
http://demo.rubikintegration.com/ssu/sitemapindex.xml

If you have your ssu upgraded from an older version, i suggest running the cache fix link in the manager

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

The sitemap that you have only has like 252 products on it where I have a lot more products then that. I'm also getting errors from google webmaster about my sitemap. It's telling me HTTP Error: 301 (Moved permanently). It's sitemapXML is not seeing all of the new URL's. Am I missing something. I did clear all of he caches.

It is normal to see 301 redirection "error" when you first use new links because the urls are moving. The possible errors you may have may be caused by script time out.
I dont have a website with that many urls so i i cant confirm :)

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

That's what it is doing is timing out. It times out when I try to rest the the cache too. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

You can try to set a longer time out, I dont know much about the sitemap you are using but the idea is to add this on top of the script

set_time_limit(0);

http://uk.php.net/set_time_limit

Also, please make sure you visited this link as least once:

yoursite.com/admin/ssu.php?action=check_and_fix_cache

I have the simple SEO 3.6.6 on a multilanguages site and for some products it points me to different product or I have the following error "no products find".

I try to upgrade to 3.6.7. - uppload all file to server and in the admin click on simple seo, but i still have the previous version. (the database don't aplly automaticaly)

On another site I have the version 3.5.4 and everything works fine!

Yellow, can I please submit the links on your pm so you examin it?

Your time is really appreciated!

Best regards!

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Hi Yellow,
please tell me if its good idea to add cononical tag to all pages that use ssu?

<link rel="canonical" href="http://example.com/page.html"/> to "http://example.com/page.html" change this that first check if we have ssu link and after check if we have alias ssu link for that page and after display link in href="http://(ssu link) or (alias ssu link)? If yes how can we do it?

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Yellow,
I also want to ask about ssu.
I have All products page http://www.usim.co.il/en/products_all
and if you change language from this page we get :
http://www.usim.co.il/ru/products_all?disp_order=1 instead:
http://www.usim.co.il/ru/products_all
It is possible to fix it?
the same with bestseller page.

Im not sure exactly what you are asking, but I will give it a shot. All links generated by zencart are absolute rather than relative (except image links).

Check the code that generates these link in your template file, how does it look like? I dont think SSU auto appends that unless your code tells it to.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

hello, i have installed (i think) simple seo url 3-5-8 because that is what is available here, i didnt know there was a more current version. anyhow, i installed the module manager first, and it is working properly, im not getting any errors, but im not sure how to install the simple seo. i have uploaded all of the files where they are suppose to go, edited the htaccess file as reccomended, changed permissions on cache/ssu and it is not in my extras menu. im not sure where to upload it so the module manager will find it, could you please point me in the right direction

You need to post what the problem was and the solution you found.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Is there a way to have it so that when turn on "Set Auto Alias Status", it only creates links for the categories and not the products?

No, not right now. Manually set alias for categories and dont turn on auto alias.
