Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

This is a fresh install of Zen using Hostgator's CPanel Fantastico

Other than what might be lurking as part of the initial install, I only added ONE Category and TWO products

As directed in the installation guide, Module Manager was first installed and then Simple SEO

Results in the "500 Internal Server Error"
Related to Simple SEO, are there any add on's known to not play nicedly (i.e., EZ Pop - either free or paid) Super Orders, etc.

Here is how i got this module working.

In find in order to use this module you will need to add a seperate module called MODULE MANAGER....this is available from the downloads section.

SSU Installation.

Extract all files as normal into correct zen folder loacations. The SSU module also contains a .htaccess file and the correct store path must be set. On my installation at line 5 of this file its reads RewriteBase/ which is the correct way for it to be if your installation is in root and no subfolders. Make sure this change is made and file is uploaded to root of zen directory

Is there a way to set/change the Alias of the Manufacturers? Currently it's spitting out

/shop/index/manufacturers_id/29

and I'd like it to read

/shop/Manufacturer-name

However I cannot find these in the Manage Alias section.

Yes you can, please enable additional page parsers:

The wiki has tons of details. Our server was recently moved so some of you may have experienced the down time, but normally it should be there, always online, if you cannot reach it please try to hit the refresh button on your browser. All the instructions are there and all are corrected. We have ssu running on linux and machine servers as well, so it should run on your server as long as you have php5+

Ahh...yeah I tried accessing it but it was down. I guess I don't quite understand what to do to get the manufacturers alias's going. Do I just add

has anyone been able to truly integrate SSU with WOZ, I saw that numunix has a solution, but I already have everything loaded.

I installed it on my site and now when i click on a product is gives me an error page, same thing with secure pages, i followed the instrustion given and this still happens. when i try to uninstall, the site disappears.

I installed simple seo approximately 2 months ago & everything looks ok. How I noticed a problem with site being indexed in google. Google is currently linking to my website pages that show no products under a specific category??? Can anyone explain how google got this link for this product eventhough the category link exists?? How can I stop google picking up this additional text (?sort=2a&alpha_filter_id=68) at the end of a url?

I'v been looking for an answer for hours. Unfortunately, there is no answer either in this thread support or anywhere on the Internet. I really need help. I hope somebody knows something about this, could please give me a hand.

I am using two product types in my site, one is "product info", the other one is "product gear info", when I click any products of "product info" from advance search result, it works to link to each product info display page, but it doesn't work when the products from "product gear info" type, when I click one of the products which belongs to "product gear info", then the webpage shows "Sorry, the product was not found.

If I turn off SSU Status, every product works fine.

I am using SSU 3.5.7, zen cart 1.3.8

I would appreciate it, if someone could give me an answer.

I solved the problem. I updated SSU 3.8.4 and module manager v1.8, then it works. I hope this would help some people who have the same problem.

I get a 500 internal error when enabling ssu
The error log says:

"[Sat Jun 26 20:24:11 2010] [error] [client 194.78.217.10] Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error. Use 'LimitInternalRecursion' to increase the limit if necessary. Use 'LogLevel debug' to get a backtrace., referer: http://www.pulpkiosk.net/"

I don't know where to find "LimitInternalRecursion", "LogLevel debug" ...

I updated to the latest version of the module module manager and SSU but now my integrated wordpress blog is giving me a 404 error page. I included it in the exclude list but it's still not showing up, along with the tons of articles I have included in it.

Any advice on this?

I just installed simple seo urls on a zen cart 1.3.8a site.

I have my products at the top level. I want the urls for the products to be https://www.website.com/product-name , however right now the urls are coming out as https://www.website.com/c-0/product-name

The settings that I currently have in simple seo urls are as follows:

FOr problem with duplicates.
Add to robots.txt in root directory
Disallow: /sort=
Disallow: /action=
Disallow: /alpha_filter_id=

I also have
Disallow: /tell_a_friend
Disallow: /popup_image > but after that google image search goes down.. :(

You can also disalow parameters in " Gogole webmasters tools"

Question: Does SSU eliminate the need for meta tags in ZC? I have approximately 3300 products I need to create meta tags for but if using SSU and meta tags together is overkill (as far as the search engines are concerned) I won't spend the (a great deal of) time on the meta tags. Or does SSU simply create a product name link (alone and unrelated to meta tags) in a more useable and readable form?

No Simple Seo does not eliminate the need for meta tags. Zencart does a very good job taking care of the meta tags for products if you choose not to fill them out. What I do since I have over 3000 product is to fill a meta tag out for my categories and let zen take care of the rest.

Thank you, Countrycharm. I wasn't aware that ZC did such a good job of handling meta tags without completing each one (title, keywords and description) for each product independently. That definitely saves a lot of work using meta tags for categories only. I would guess that SSU only refines what ZC already does (?)Thanks again.

I am trying to install with zen cart v.1.3.9d. Has anyone had success doing a full install with this version of zen cart. My admin won't show my ssu.php page to install the program it says page not available. Basically it's a 500 error page (not available). I can look in my FTP and see the file exists. I tried to increase file permissions but then it just redirected the admin: Simple SEO URL manager to my website front end home page.

Don't know why this will not install at all and I get a 500 error when I click the link to install when that page is there.
