Getting a blank page on ssu.php, does this mod work for 1.3.9d?
Totally Zenned
Mine is working on the front end. But if I click on: Extras, Simple SEO URL Manager, then this URL: http://www.MYDOMAIN.com/MYADMIN/ssu.php shows a blank page.
Now, if I click on: Configuration, Simple SEO URL, then I can configure (after a half-an-hour and my cache cleared).
I Don't understand why one configuration page shows and another does not. Any ideas?

Earnest-Enterprises:
Question: Does SSU eliminate the need for meta tags in ZC? I have approximately 3300 products I need to create meta tags for but if using SSU and meta tags together is overkill (as far as the search engines are concerned) I won't spend the (a great deal of) time on the meta tags. Or does SSU simply create a product name link (alone and unrelated to meta tags) in a more useable and readable form?
Thanks....
Even though Zen Cart does create meta tags on the fly. It is a good idea to create them manually. I have 160K products and each one of them has it's own hand written (template) Meta Tags. I noticed 1000% increase in sales after a few months (along with other things that I have done).
SSU is good but after testing having good content and good meta tags would reward you a lot more than SSU as far as SEO.

Thanks, Cool Car, for that and your point is well taken. It does make sense and anything I can do to promote sales will be a plus. I use Easy Populate Advanced which helps with the importing/exporting of meta tags. Unfortunately it won't write them for you....:D Guess there's no easy way other than starting to peck away to get them done and in place. Thanks again.

I am also running 1.3.9d and get a blank page in the admin at /ssu.php
Everything else seems to be working fine, but I can't set up any link aliases without being able to go to this configuration page.

Make sure you have the most recent version of SSU and Module Manager. I know I had issues because I didn't have the current version of Module Manager. Unfortunately you have to get these from the author's website as they are not keeping the mods in the Downloads area current. Which is really annoying I might add.
You might also try peeking at your debug log in the cache folder to see if it tells you what error is causing the blank page.
On a side note...I still have not been able to edit the Manufaturers Aliases. So if someone can help me that would much appreciated.

Yes Post your debug log in the cache folder here.

Aha, perfect! I had the latest SSU, but didn't realize I needed to track down Module Manager as well - I uploaded the new MM files and we're all set. This site doesn't use manufacturers, so I'm afraid I'm no help with that. Thank you!

Glad it worked! I know I was ripping my hair out about it when it happened to me. :D

I just use the addon for my new jewelry site you can check http://www.silverjewelryeshop.com/.
when you check the products_new or products_all or search resulted page, you will find the url and product info for that product have not contain the category name. it seem it can read correctly category name.

Where did you find the latest module manager?

My urls are coming out as http://www.mydomain.com/-c-38_39/product-name-11-ar355-p-2482
How do I automatically make it create www.mydomain.com/category name/product ?

yellow1912:
zenid is supposed to be there at the beginning of each "browsing session", so when you first visit the site you should see it in the links, then when you go to the next link to see it no more.
Seems like it's cookie based then, right? How does this module help then if the robots that crawl a site can't accept the session cookie? It seems like all of the URLs that are crawled won't be SEO'ed and thus, the plugin is pointless. I hope I'm wrong about this.

what is the .htaccess rewrite rule so that instead of c-1 or c-38 it includes the category names and subcategories in alias?

I've encountered a problem installing module manager. I've uploaded everything, and when I click on 'Install new modules'
It comes up with the error:
Warning /includes/module_installation/modules/current_version.txt is missing
Error Module version could not be found in file and database
Warning /includes/module_installation/module_manager/current_version.txt is missing
Error Module version could not be found in file and database
I have checked and it is correct, there is no current_version.txt there, but there is a current_version.XML
Any ideas an what should I do?

I now have a fully working version of this mod on my site
I hit a few problems along the way, so I'm going to share my story to hopefully help some others out there. I am running the latest ZenCart 1.39d. I also have Zen LightBox and ImageHandler installed and they don't seem to be conflicting (for now).
As per my last post when I first installed Module Manager and clicked on 'Install new modules'
It came up with the error:
Warning /includes/module_installation/modules/current_version.txt is missing
Error Module version could not be found in file and database
Warning /includes/module_installation/module_manager/current_version.txt is missing
Error Module version could not be found in file and database
I checked and it was correct, there was no current_version.txt there, but there was a current_version.XML file. All I did to fix this was open current_version.xml with notepad++ and copied the contents (only a few lines in there) and pasted it into a current_version.txt, and then put copies of that file into:
/includes/module_installation/modules/
&
/includes/module_installation/module_manager/
Not sure if that's 100% correct, and somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but eveything seems to be working for now.
After finishing the install and turning SSU on in the admin/config menu I was getting 'Internal Server error' on all pages on my site. After re-reading the instructions very carefully I realized I hadn't changed the line:
RewriteBase /zencart/
to
RewriteBase /
in my .htaccess file, as my zencart is installed in the root.
Hope this helps a few people. You can see it working here if you want nintendoparts.com.au

Well I'm completely stumped. I have a site running Zen Cart 1.3.8a on a Windows server hosted at Go Daddy. We've installed the ISAPI Rewrite module from Helicon to the server and installed SSU version 3.8.3. I've gone over the install instructions numerous times but still cannot get this mod to work. Every time I enable it and try to click on a product category I get a 404 error. The link is showing up as I would expect, but we're not getting to the pages.
My Zen Cart is installed in a folder named "catalog" and I have put that into the .htaccess file in the catalog folder. Nothing I do seems to work.
Suggestions?
