You will need to update Module Manager to it's latest version if you haven't done that yet. On the new version of Simple Seo 3.8.8 the old Module Manger will not work.

Display Cart After Adding Product = NO not working anymore with SSU!

After activating SSU, clicking on the buy_now buttons would take my customers to the cart even if I set Display Cart After Adding Product = NO!

If SSU is deactivated, it works fine...

Does anyone have experience with this kind of undesired SSU behaviour?

hmm just re-read your issue.. never come across that before, check shopping cart is in the exclude list that might sort it?

sometimes emptying the cache can resolve some weirdness sometimes...

Im attempting to install Simple Seo Urls on a 1.3.9h version of
Zencart

Ive download Module Manager Rev 18 and run this ...

The problem Im having is when I click on
Admin/Extras/Simple Seo URL Manager I just get a blank screen.
Also not sure if I should be installing this version of SSU.

All sorted now ... I suddenly remembered there's an error log you can look at ....

It told me that includes / classes / ssu / config.php was missing
and now the Admin/Extras page has appeared.

These SEO URL modules are completely redundant. They are not necessary. They do not help with better SEO. They do not improve your page ranking potential. They are risky to install and use, and (according to Google) may actually HARM your website's chances of good SE results.

Anyone who tells you that they DO improve page ranking does not understand how search engines deal with dynamic URL's these days.

You see, there is no such thing as a "SEO URL"... it is a term made up by charlatans in the so-called "SEO Industry".

Search Engines regard the url purely as the GATEWAY to your site's content and information flow (its logical structure, relevance and content depth). The actual URL is not used AT ALL in the actual ranking of a website.

So, if you tamper with the URL, you actually RISK "damaging" this gateway, and you could actually end up hiding or masking important links and content that the search engines DO use in their page ranking calculations.

It's up to you whether you want to continue to be hoodwinked by all this SEO URL nonsense, or whether you'd like to research the topic yourselff. Look on Google's blogspot for what they say about static URL re-writing.

Our organisation has built over 100 zencart sites over the last 7 years and we have NEVER used these "seo" modules. And many of our clients are enjoying page one results on many key phrases on all the main search engines.

Im still not sure if this mod is installed correctly
This mod was installed for me on another site but Im trying to add to another zen cart myself.

1. There are no filenames in cache ie. no ssu / pc files etc
   and Im getting these messages although the files dont exist

/cache/ssu/aliases folder is not writable
/cache/ssu/pc folder is not writable

Are these files added automatically, what should I do to add them.

2. In Admin/Extras there are no files when clicking on Manage Alias what generates the content into here ?

I have installed Simple SEO and Module Manager and am getting the problem 1146 Table 'anctgrou_zc1.configuration' doesn't exist

Naturally the table doesnt exist but actgrou_zc1.zen_configuration does exist. I have edited sqlpatch_class.php to read..

As mentioned elswhere in this forum but I am still getting the 1146 error message!

Any help greatfully appreciated.

I'm getting the same thing but I also don't have the admin function so I cannot turn SSU on or off.

Recently we noticed that some of the pages inside of subcategories (like page 2 of the product list) stopped working. If we turn SSU off, they work again. I can't seem to figure out how to get the aliases working for these other pages. Do I simply need to upgrade to the latest 3.8.8?

Update: I installed the first install on my local host (desktop) and the problem is there. So I uploaded the shop also to a subdomain (liveserver) and the problem is fixed.

But why doesn't it work on my localmachine? difference is PHP version: 5.2.6 (local) PHP versie: 5.1.4 (online)

Same problem here, you are braver than me though as I won't upload to my live site until it works on my local machine.

1.3.9h Clean install - no other mods
SSU 3.8.5 Beta (installed with module manager) & scripts ran.
Running on WAMP with PHP 5.2.9-2
Installed module manager 1.8 (i think) but current_version.txt files is missing so can't confirm.
All admin panels seem to present & complete for SSU

The url's are renamed but all I can get is the home page, if I turn off SSU in admin the site works fine.
Run ssu_check & htaccess is as recommended

I have read approx 150 pages of this thread & the only answers have been to upgrade. I'm running the latest version (as of last week)

Tried everything but cannot get it to work

Anyone any ideas?

I have a problem with languages.
I have two languages installed and working fine if SSU is turned of.
When I turn SSU on, second language doesn't work at all. The address bar just shows domain.com/es but nothing is translated, site remains in English. If I click anything, the /es is gone and site keeps working in English.

Using 1.3.8a (i know i know...), SSU 3.8.5

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I am currently using zencart version 1.3.9h and have Simple SEO installed version 3.8.5. When I click on Extras - Simple SEO Manager I get:
1146 Table 'postacar_zc1.links_aliases' doesn't exist
in:
[ALTER TABLE links_aliases ADD alias_type varchar(100) NOT NULL DEFAULT 'none';]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

I can go into myphp admin and find the table there except it has zen_ in front of the name links_aliases.

The SEO package will not turn on despite it being set to the on position.

Does anyone know how to get this working again? Any help would ge greatly appreciated.
