Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Yellow,
The update worked great, search is now working in full glory!
Got to say, as testimonials go, you deserve one - I have been using Zen-Cart for a year or two now, and this forum is an invaluable source to help you through any problem, but I haven't yet had somebody help me out so quickly, so accurately, and for it to work first time.
This module is fantastic, if anybody has any doubts, use this, not the ultimate one. Especially if you want different product types re-writing.
Credit goes to Yellow for 1. Writing this mod, and 2. for providing such excellent support.
Where can I give a donation?
Chris

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

yellow,
The Attributes Popup Large Images contribution has been updated in the download area to include your patch.
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86353&page=75
There are no compatibility issues now with SSU, so feel free not to include the PATCH folder in upcoming stable version.
Thanks.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I installed everything and get this error

Warning: require_once(includes/classes/module_installer.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/.michelle/erezw/olioandspices.com/shop/admin/ssu.php on line 10

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'includes/classes/module_installer.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/.michelle/erezw/olioandspices.com/shop/admin/ssu.php on line 10

I check and the ssu.php file is there (at the admin directory)...

any ideas?

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Since I havent figured out the best way to deal with multi-language yet, I updated SSU to actually have a language plugin. This plugin will allow you to define the way SSU should handle how names are parsed in each language. This will allow you to freely customize the module.

And if you come up plugin for any new language, please share it here.

To customize this, please go to includes/classes/ssu/languages/default.php to view the sample code.

When you create a custom plugin for a new language, copy the content of the above file into a new file named {language_code}.php and customize from there.
(language_code is the 2 letters code: en, fr, ru,.....)

This version is for those who have problem with multi-lang.

PS: because Zen limits attachment to 50kb and only allows zip format, I had to zip the package in 7z format then in zip format. Sorry about this.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Okie, so I was a bit careless. I found out there is a minor bug in the version I posted above, which I fixed.

I also added support for ezpage, so it will no longer be page/id/9, it will be contact-us_page_5, something like that.(your ezpage title + the identifier + page id)

Now, just in case you have not noticed yet, we always have a special character/string right after each product/category/manufacturer/page name. These are called "identifiers"

You can change these identifiers (-c-, -p-, -n-, -page-, .....) to whatever you want. Just be very careful, you don't want these identifiers to appear in other pages you have (go to includes/modules/pages and check all the folder names there, if you already have a folder named this-category-one then you don't want to have an identifier like this: -category-

Now if you decide to change these identifiers, go to includes/init_includes/init_ssu.php, you will see those defined around line 29-50, you can make the changes you want. After that you will have to go admin and clear cache.

These setting will be moved outside of the core file latter to make it easier for you.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

cleverpork:

Just looking through the forums still and not finding a quick answer on this one... I'm getting this error on beamerfilms.com after selecting "go to checkout."

404 Not Found

The requested URL /~beamerfi/catalog/checkout_shipping?zenid=8718cb260b3a12ed9c7f071fddb38bc1 does not exist.

Any help is greatly apprecited. (And I did clear my cache this time. :smile:)

I seem to have simillar problem. The customers are able to checkout if they add something to their shopping cart and go through the checkout process. But if you click on the Checkout link in the header, you will get the 404 error. Can someone tell me whats wrong. the site is https://www.coolcarpartsonline.com . you can test it on the site header. Every other page that I ran into is working fine so Thanks for The effort.

A side note: I am relatively new site a few months, I had this mod installed for a week or so and I noticed that Iam getting more traffic from google and live than I ever had since the site is been up. Iam getting more than 1/2 of my traffic from organic search compare to a few visits a day before this mod. So I would recommend installing this mod even if you loose the sitemap indexing.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I would check your filenames.php in the includes folder

define('FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING', 'checkout_shipping');

Make sure that line is there.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

If you downloaded this module from the download section, you got an old version. Try to go back 1-2 pages in this thread to get a new one

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Probably because the way you set your "base" in the htaccess file
In the "docs" there are some files explaining possible problems and fixes, you may want to check them first.

Oh, ultimate seo is totally different from this module, so I would suggest searching for the support thread for that module

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Hi Yellow, I've updated to your latest version and am attempting to clear the cache, but it keeps telling me the directory is unwritable....however it is, and all the files inside it all set to 777 and no matter what I do it won't reset the cache :(

 cache/ssu folder is not writable
Could not open dir
```I've checked this in both normal ftp and ssh connection as well as my cpanel file manager and all say it is at 777, so I am going to have to delete those files manually, but will this create a problem with those folders?
Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]
If you updated, did you update both admin and front end side? Since this new version has lots of changes in the ways the paths are stored.
Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]
Well I thought I'd uploaded all the admin files, but I re-uploaded just to double check and it started working again LOL
The zip I installed is the one on post #**749**
I hadn't gotten round yet to installing the one posted in post #**705**
In the SEO URL in Admin/Configuration I can set it to true for Link Alias Status, then it tells me to go to the section in Extras to set them, but the only thing in there is the cache reset options, did I install the wrong one? LOL
And do you think I will have to remove and reinstall my paypal ipn this time? I am so hoping not LOL!
And finally LOL would you be able to send me a PM for donation details for you?
Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]
Link alias is there just for show now _, since I want to concentrate on solving the multi-language problem first, which is really a huge problem for people who have stores using multi langs. I would say, place a test order if you can, just to be on the safe side. If you dont have an additional PP account, create a test item which costs 1c, and free shipping, and I will gladly place a test order for you
