Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

A blank screen can always be solved by first getting the debug information and see what is the problem :)

Mustang394:

I could not get this mod to work so I gave that a try. Once I did I got the same redirect error. Deleted that file and the redirect error went away. Just thought he/she may have done the same.

As far as not working. Everything works fine until I go to a product page then I get a blank screen. All other pages in the store work fine. ie catgories, new products, about us etc

I'm sure it would but you would have to understand what you are reading. Which I doubt I would have. LOL

Which is why we have a support thread.... Right?
For people to post their problems and debug codes, so that others can help.

Must be getting late. I just saw a post with a problem I had. Thought I would post how I fixed that problem. Your post after his question seemed to suggest you were not sure why his admin was redirecting. Thought I was being helpful. Sorry.

Im just suggesting that if you have a problem, you are not by yourself. You can always post your problem and we can help. However, if you dont want to, that's all up to you.

Regards

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I installed google xml sitemap mod to submit to sitemap , as I could not get the online ones to work. I am now getting a warning from google. :

URLs not followed
When we tested a sample of the URLs from your Sitemap, we found that some URLs were not accessible to Googlebot because they contained too many redirects. Please change the URLs in your Sitemap that redirect and replace them with the destination URL (the redirect target). All valid URLs will still be submitted

the URL info is :-

HTTP Error: 301 (Moved permanently) Help Help
URL:```
http://www.affixit.co.uk/50m-easy-tear-tissue-tape-narrow-%286mm-x-50m%29-p-66

do you know whats going on ?

Do a simple test, replace all the nonalpha numeric characters from this title, then reset cache and resubmit the link.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I have just tested the above url btw, what I get is a 200 response okie, not 301 permanent redirect (which means the link is good). You may want to post your site map here.

yeah , it seems to work fine , but the site map is showing those %28 and %29 bits :

I could not get the online XML sitemap to work xml-sitemaps.com/
so installed the mod to get it done locally.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

ahhh I see it now , it must be the ( ) being escaped inthe URL .. easy option is to remove the ( ) in the description I suppose.

This can happen when you made changes to category or product names, and the changes are not reflected in the new xml yet

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Qwert302:

I'm still having this redirect problem, I have doublechecked that everything is uploaded into the proper locations. You say that SSU doesn't touch redirects, but what could possibly be causing this? What could I have possibly accidentally done to cause this to happen?

I'm sure it's not SSU's fault, since it works on one of my sites, but I did something while installing SSU to cause this and I'm not knowledgeable enough about ZC's inner workings to know where to look.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

If anyone was interested it turns out that I had php5.ini on the one that didn't work and php.ini on the one that did. I copied the php.ini over and now it works.

I don't need to understand it, all I know is that it works!

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I've been reading this thread for an hour and fixed a few things, but now I'm stuck with this error when I try to go to =>Extras=>Simple SEO URL Manager:

Warning: require_once(includes/classes/module_installer.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/speckid/public_html/admin/ssu.php on line 10

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'includes/classes/module_installer.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/speckid/public_html/admin/ssu.php on line 10

I can't figure out what I need to do here. I think the answer is somewhere around page 77, but I can't wrap my head around it right now.

WIll you help?

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Well I did get the module manger installed and it got rid of my error.

Then I cleared the cache... and after all my work, I have the same urls I had before.

No category or product names.

What am I doing wrong?

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Qwert302 You Rock!

Thanks very much. I couldn't find a manual for this mod so I didn't know where to look.

Is there any way to get rid of the number references?

And does anyone know if the Google Sitemap mod works good with this?

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I just created my sitemaps and the urls generated by Google Sitemap and it works great, so I won't worry about the numbers.

Thanks all past and present for the info!

The docs are located in folder docs in the package. Also, on a side note, ssu is off by default so that people visiting your site during the installation dont get into problems.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I just VERY carefully installed this mod and turned it on. I am getting a 500 Internal Server Error.
Any Ideas?

Any Ideas? This is usually caused by the wrong config of htaccess. You can post it here so we can help to fix it.
