Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

micmed:

Thanks Qwert, so you think that www makes a difference?

I've heard you just have to pick one or the other, either www. or non-www and stick with it. I've found that www. works more easily with Zen-Cart. Now that may just be because of the way the configure files are defaulted but I think most people are still stuck on using www.

This .htaccess set up also points anything going to index.php back to the root. This is all aimed at consolidating all the links and pagerank onto your home page, to increase rankings and avoid any possibility of duplicate content issues.

This is really out of the scope of zen or anything and has to do with the server side. If you have Cpanel, login there, you should be able to see "raw error log" or whatever it is called.
Otherwise, contact your host to see how to access this log.

The reason is: we know that we have an error (500 internal error), but this tells us nothing about the cause of this error (which is good, the server should hide all the details to normal users). However, to fix whatever causing the problem, we need to know more details.

PS: check my signature for the link to beta 2.9.6 which should fix the fatal error you posted before, this will not fix the 500internal error you are having though.

Yellow,
Thanks for that.

I will ask to my host for this error log, and try your latest version.

Wow, can you tell us why did it take up to 1 day? This may help others

As for tracking, do you keep track of your ranking for certain important keywords on major search engines? Do you also keep track of people coming to your sites and sale etc....

If you dont, maybe you can visit Zen SEO room and get help.

What does your error log on the server show? (if you have cpanel, you can go in there and check the error log)
We need to know the detail on the error, because "500 internal server error" doesnt tell us much.

Remote test site & local site : The 2.9.6 version has removed the fatal error: Call to undefined method su_manager:..........

Error 500 : Remote test site :
The error log shows : Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error. Use 'LimitInternalRecursion' to increase the limit if necessary. Use 'LogLevel debug' to get a backtrace.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

As additional info, on my local configuration test site, it is now ok (due to bad .htaccess location)

On the remote site, the link shown when the mouse is drag over any menu seems to be good.

I used it on my live site. But make sure you test on yours first, including checkout etc.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Quick question for anyone running this on a Windows Server (IIS, not Apache)... Have you got this working?

I'm currently experiencing an issue where the homepage is displayed no matter what link I click on!

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Just tried that, and now when refreshing the page nothing loads at all. It seems to attempt to load and the usual 'Waiting for...' text appears in the status bar.

Also, when resetting the cache (all) via Zen Cart Admin I get the following error.

[quote]Could not open dir C:/Inetpub/wwwroot/simple_seo_url/cache/ssu//categories/10_en[/code]

This error is repeated for each file in the SSU cache folder.

Notice the extra forward slash?

I'm sure this issue and the fact that pages are not loading shop side are related.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

While this error can be easily solved, Im not sure it has anythings to with the fact that nothing loads.

Try this if you have blank pages on front-end:

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

When I said that 'nothing loads' I actually meant that the page attempts to load... forever.

If I turn SSU off everything works fine.

I'll check my server logs for clues.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I have been having issues on pages that send page variable, like login pages, sort forms, etc. Any info on how I can still have these work? I have poured over the 92 pages of content here looking for a possible solution.

Thank you!

It should work by default. If it doesnt, please post the error you get, and the link to the page if possible> jlabresh1:
