Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

You were certainly on the right track. I closed my ftp client Filezilla and started it up again, logged back in and uploaded all files on more time.

There you go... now everything works. :blush:

...and I assume version display still does not get updated. Still shows Beta 3.4.5

Im not sure which version you are using, so I cant say what's going on. You will need to let me know the version you are using, please note that SSU has reached version 3.5.0 for php5.

Also, if you already use the current version and the error still happens, please post or pm me your site url so I can check (I will contact you to turn on the SSU for a bout 5mins so I can see what happens)

I have 8|Beta 3.2.9, and I see that there is a 8|Beta 3.4.8.

I need to see your site, but more than likely you did not set htaccess correctly.

Ok upgrade didn't go too hot.

I downloaded the link that said 3.5.0, but the current_version.txt says 3.4.8.

So upgrade no good, decided to do a complete reinstall.

Deleted all of the old files uploaded. Ran the SQL patch as per the instructions on your site.

Uploaded the 3.5.0 files again.

Went to Admin→Extras→SSU Manager to have it auto run the DB patch, and get an error. Also SSU doesn't appear under Admin->Configuration anymore. So I can't turn it on. I imagine that is part of the DB patch that is throwing an error.

PM'd site.

I installed SSU on a exisiting site, and the PRODUCTS, disappear! I add a product or try to view my products and they do not appear.

What could the problem be?

To all:

Please upgrade to 3.5.1

An important bug was found, this bug caused SSU to cache the parameters incorrectly.

Only the includes/ folder content is changed, so you may just want to upload that folder to save your time.

After uploading the new files, simply go to admin->extra->ssu manager and reset all cache. You should be good to go.

@toussi: this should solve the problem you have as well. Make sure your server is running php5 btw, 3+ cant run on php4

I'm unable to locate the step-by-step instructions for setting up
the Simple SEO URL mod. I've seen references to it but not the
instructions themselves.

Would someone please repost. I'm sure it's in here somewhere
but it's not with the mod.

If you are using php 5, it is recommended to use 3.5.1 which is the latest version, otherwise please use 2.9.6, both versions should be downloaded from the link in my sig. The install instruction is at:

This usually has to do with your ftp client, some hide that file by default. You have to check its documentation to see how to make the file visible.

Thank you.. Yes.. The .htaccess was hidden from the FTP software.

To show hidden files:

In ws_ftp enter -la in the "file mask" box to show hidden files.

This is accomplished by editing the sites configuration then
reconnecting to the server.
