Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

icemint:

Each product has an URL link to provide more information.
It appears as "productInfoLink" in HTML code. When it is clicked, this redirects to an external website.

For example, you will find "Product information" link in here.
Humh, what do you mean? What is the expected behavior?

Maybe he is talking about he same we noticed on my server. Not redirecting to an incomplete path. Just the thing you pointed out for me a couple of posts back. BTW, this happens on mydanilo.com as well. Just installed today. Otherwise works like a charm. Used alias as well. Nice feature.
You may want to try this, unzip it and upload to includes/classes/ssu/cores, overwrite the old one. See if this helps.

Please also test on the secure links such as "login" to see if it works as expected.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Sorry, that I can't state it clearer.
Now I turned on SSU feature on my website,

Try "Product information" link in here, and you will see the redirection page can not be found.

Thanks.

Just go to admin, configuration, ssu settings, and put in the "page exclude list" a new page "redirect"

Your page exclude list now should look like this:
advanced_search_result,redirect,popup_image_additional

You may have other pages you want to exclude as well, just add any other page there if you want.

And while you are at it, your query exclude list should have at least these keys:

zenid,gclid,number_of_uploads,number_of_downloads,action

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Putting the "redirect" page in the exclude list worked.
Now, I struck into another problem: "Redirect loop". It seems as though it only happens when a product has attribute options.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

i had added action to the exclusions per a recommendation in this thread somewhere? Just found out that some users couldn't add some products to their cart.

removing the action and clearing the cache has released the problem.

ring a bell?

Check if you are using an old version, you may have the exact problem with the other 2 people above.

Possible, you will have to use link-alias. However, it's not done automatically yet, so if you have a limited number of categories/products it will be easy, but if you have too many it will take lots of time.

I have 11 categories and 120+ products so far, would this slow the server? I could do it fairly fast if it's a txt file.

How do you change how the links are made in zencart?

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Hi Yellow, I have upgraded to the latest version and have used the link alias successfully on several links, however I am having a problem with three in particular LOL

I believe I have put them in right, but I am thinking the problem may lay in that these links do not have the forward slash (/) trailing at the end and the link alias won't let me put it in without it

The three links in question are these ones on my site:

Specials/Discounts at top http://www.havendesignz.com/store/product-specials-and-discounts-page-5

How To Checkout in Information Sidebox http://www.havendesignz.com/store/page_2

Copyright Issues in Information Sidebox http://www.havendesignz.com/store/page_3

Screenshot below of my link alias settings....any help would be appreciated! LOL

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I cleared cache after upgrade and before doing the aliases, so I just cleared it again and the discount/specials page is now working right, that's an EZ Page btw LOL, still not working on the define page_2 and page_3 links in sidebox, direct link (http://www.havendesignz.com/store/how-to-checkout) is working though

I see the url link has changed in your sidebox, just not changing in mine LOL

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

If it helps any, I moved those links for the more info sidebox to the information sidebox, and these are the link structures in that sidebox:

// test if links should display
  if (DEFINE_PAGE_2_STATUS <= 1) {
    $information[] = '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_PAGE_2) . '">' . BOX_INFORMATION_PAGE_2 . '</a>';
  }
  if (DEFINE_PAGE_3_STATUS <= 1) {
    $information[] = '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_PAGE_3) . '">' . BOX_INFORMATION_PAGE_3 . '</a>';
  }
  if (DEFINE_PAGE_4_STATUS <= 1) {
    $information[] = '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_PAGE_4) . '">' . BOX_INFORMATION_PAGE_4 . '</a>';
  }

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Look correct. The behavior is weird tho, it seems to redirect from how to.... back to page 2 instead of the other way around. Can you take a screenshot of the current setting now, since it does look like the behavior you would expect when a link alias is disabled.
