FCKeditor Plugin 2.5

minneapolis_dan:

DivaVocals, thanks again. The "browser.html" is not my issue, that's why those previous posts didn't help. It's not trying to download the browser.html file, it's just not seeing it (or not seeing something). My issue has to do with a Page Not Found error. I can upload files, I just can't seem to use the Browse Server feature like I used to.

I get a URL like this:

http://mywebsite.com/store/editors/fckeditor/editor/filemanager/browser/default/browser.html?Type=Image&Connector=http%3A%2F%2Fmywebsite.com%2Fstore%2Feditors%2Ffckeditor%2Feditor%2Ffilemanager%2Fconnectors%2Fphp%2Fconnector.php

I'm have this problem on my site now... I just reinstalled the editor and I'm getting this error which I've never received before. I've removed the .htaccess and done everything else I've known to do in order to fix the problem but no luck yet...

Re: FCKeditor Plugin 2.5

I loaded the editor and it works well, however, when I add an image it shows on my website but it does not show in the Preview or in the editor. Has anyone else had this problem?

I can't say I have seen that problem. It could have something to do with the paths the editor is trying to view the images from...

FCKEditor has an issue with incomplete relative paths.

Example:
if you type in an image like this, it will show up on the page but not in the editor.
images/products/product1.jpg

if you add a forward / in front of the path like this
/images/products/product1.jpg or
http://your-domain.com/images/products/product1.jpg

it will show up in the editor AND the page.

thank to allYou can ask, but there's more than one author for this module, and it's basically a volunteer effort.. So only if the module author is so inclined they will update it.. Generally you usually have to wait or try your hand at updating it yourself..

Re: FCKeditor Plugin 2.5

I've installed this mod on a v1.3.9 and my issue is:
In FF when trying to browse the server says:

"The server didn't reply with a proper XML data. Please check your configuration."

and with IE says:

Oops! This page appears to be missing.
HTTP 404 - File not found.

I tried the htaccess delete and didn't work. I tried several configuration ways and same result.

Any ideas? :lookaroun

Re: FCKeditor Plugin 2.5

You may find that the more contemporary CKEditor is a better choice anyway: http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&products_id=1626

Re: FCKeditor Plugin 2.5

I've installed FCKeditor 2.6.4.1 on my new 1.3.9c zen cart, and it works well when I add product description, however, when I edit that product again, it shows the HTML code in the text box:shocking:, and the FCKeditor icons are there!! anything wrong with FCK? and then I change to use CKeditor or TinyMCE to edit product desc, they show correctly, except FCK.

help please!!!!:(

Re: FCKeditor Plugin 2.5

I don't think that they'll be much appetite to investigate the problems associated with installing an out-of-date and difficult to integrate editor on the latest versions of Zen Cart, when the editor that has superseded it (CKEditor) is heaps better and works on those versions without problem.

this happened to me also but I am using 1.3.8a and I did not do anything in the last month except update the ozpost module which should not have caused this. maybe caused by hack? I have no idea.

section of the new 1.3.9 code in either
admin\includes\modules\product\collect_info.php
or
admin\includes\modules\update_product.php
causes fckeditor to malfunction; these 1.3.9 files have been added to the new ozpost module so it is compatible with the new zencart

Re: FCKeditor Plugin 2.5

The only thing with the CK editor you dont get a source button to allow for code to be placed in the descriptions etc... so youtube vids cant be placed etc.

Whats the best editor now that FCK is not available as it wont work in php5.3 and 1.3.9d

Not sure I understand any of this. My CKEditor has the source button top left. On the rare occasions that I use an HTML editor, I usually check the code with that.

That said I'm not aware of any specific reason which FCKEditor wouldn't work on a clean install of Zen Cart or with PHP 5.3, but there are mods which core files and impede it - OzPost has been cited above.

But CKEditor is just soo much better. Not least in the look and speed, but more importantly in the quality of the HTML that it generates.
