Reward Point Mod beta now available

Agreed- I think it should be settable by the admin. We did discuss it earlier and the point was made that providing instant Reward Points could be open to fraud. Currently the mod uses the Order Status to dictate when the points are transferred between Pending and Earned. I've already coded in the Sunrise Period update (release soon, I promise).

However, I do believe there is merit in also using the Method of Payment to determine the Status of the reward points on the current order. I'll have a look at this.

Could someone please point me in the direction of the most current version :smile: Am a newbie and this mod sounds perfect for what I am looking for.

Make a back up first before you install. Also review all the theards here. There might be a fix or two in them that hasn't made it into the download yet.

Has this now moved out of the Beta phase? Is installation of this add-on now recommend on a more general scale?

The current beta is stable in what it does. I won't move the mod out of beta until I've finished writing and testing the other add-ons. Difficulty is knowing where to stop. The current version history looks like this:

• Added Group Reward Redeem admin tool under Admin->Customers
• Added Customer Reward Point admin tool under Admin->Customers
• Refactored a lot of the Admin and standard Reward Point functions
• Renamed reward_product_points to reward_master to reflect the new role of the table
• Added Group and Customer Scopes to the reward_master file
• Added Simple/Advanced Order Status checking to trigger reward point transfer (to and from earned)
• Added "Display Zero Reward Points" configuration item.
• Added Minimum and Maximum redeem configuration items.
• Added Sunrise Period configuration item.
• Added Rounding configuration item.

Defered until later is:

• Award of points due to customer referal
• Periodic award of pending points
• Added points notification email
• Campaigns
• Test and integrate with Easy Order mod

So if there are no obvious "must haves" this is the version I will go to full release on.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused. From the readme; What is the difference between the Point Ratio and the Redeem Ratio? And what is the recommended setting for each so as to not get into trouble by being overly generous?

Also, I'm running Zen version 1.3.6. Any idea if that will be a problem?

I think he originally tested it on 1.3.7 and there was issues with it working in 1.3.8 so he made some changes so it works on 1.3.8. I'm not sure about the compatiblity of 1.3.6.

The Point Ratio refers to how many points you want a customer to earn per dollar spent. I think default is set at a point Ratio of 1.0 so for every dollar spent 1 point will be earned.

The Redeem ratio is point to dollars. I have my redeem ratio set to .05 so every point they earn is equal to five cents in US. A ratio of 1.0 would be one dollar for every point. Every 50 Points gives them $2.50 and so on.

I hope that's clear. I know what I want to say, just hard to type it :frusty:

Had a look at the order_total.php under includes\classes- First off, it's one of the core files and this mod does not change or replace it. I looked at line 181 as per your message and it's a comment line. A further check for calls on a get_order_total function yielded no results either. Then I realised that my test platform was running 1.3.7. So a quick update later and I'm just going through the test procedure on v1.3.8a- I'll get a new version up shortly.

Very nice andrew :clap: Those are great features you have added. I haven't found any other problems and I went live with my site. So far so good. I found work around for the sale items getting reward points based on base price, I just adjusted the point ratio for those items so it comes out correctly. It works until you get your final released.

The latest version in the downloads works on 1.3.8a. That is what I'm running. There are one or two fixes as zip files in the threads that aren't in the version available in the Downloads yet so you may want to grab those too.

The work around is as simple as changing the point ratio given for Items you have on sale. Mine is set for regular price at 1 point for every dollar spent. I have a clearance category where everything is 50% off. I adjusted the point ration for that category to .5 to so they get half the points. You can change the ratio's globally, by category, or by product. It works for me.

It has some limitations as it will give points to items they may give for free like if you give a buy one and get one free. Also if you have a buy one and get the second at a certain percentage off it will give full points to that second item. Next next version he uploads will have fixed these issues.

I may also have found a conflict with another contribution. I'm looking into it to make sure I didn't mess something up before I post anything.

Final(ly) beta 1.03a Everything going okay this should be the version that I will go to Full Release with. Make sure you read the Readme.txt file. I'm going to attach it here rather than upload it as an official release so can everyone give it a good testing and give me some feedback, thanks.

I'll test it locally and let you know if I come across any problems. Thanks for the download :clap:
