OsCommerce Data Importer - Errors

I managed to sort it. I found the php and apache limits needed increasing.

Had to increase the RLimitMEM in httpd.conf as well!

Thought it best to report the fix.

Had to increase both to 256MB for my 19,000 orders to import.

I tried this converter out last night on a test store, and I have to say, wow! Everything went super smooth, and none of the problems that I envisioned as I have no idea how databases work.

I am working on converting an old oscommerce store over to zen, so I need all the customer and order data, but I don't really want all of the products. I can not fix the product data in oscommerce not because if I delete a catagory, the entire product catalog is deleted. Somthing was screwy in the last update I did, and I would rather move to zen where I'm more comfortable anyhow. My question is, can I import my live store customer and order data from that database when it is time for the official changeover, and then import all of my product data seperatly with a csv from my test zen store where I'm getting everything set up now? Let me rephrase that, I know that I can just do the customers and orders but will this screw up anything in the new store database if the order history and the products don't come from the same place?

Just use import_osc_customers.php and import_osc_orders.php

You will have a history issue when a customer pulls up an old order because there will be no products to match the order. But it will all work.

I have used the oscommerce_data_importer_2-2. First the customers, this went perfect. Then the orders. This seems to work well also. But afterwards in the ZEN admin their aren't any orders visible. Also test orders made in ZC are gone. When creating a new test order in ZC, no order shows up in admin area. Allthough they order is created while I and test customer do receive an e mail with the confirmation. In this mail the ordernumber is perfectly in line with the previous ordernumbers.

This should have something to do with differences in both the ZC and OSC databases I guess. Is there any kind of solution or workaround?

Not completely solved, still having problems getting both.

I have NL and ENG language in OSC

OSC Language ID: NL = 3, ENG = 5
ZEN Language ID: NL = 2, ENG = 1

I want to do an export / import of the orders created in OSC. No error reports, everything is imported fine. In ZEN Admin home, I see the latest OSC orders, but at Customers/orders everything is empty.

Experimented with changing / swapping Language ID's without good result. Last try I did get all orders ok in Customers/orders, but only in English not in Dutch.

Can someone please advise a good stepplan how to manage this? If nescesarry I can PM the both OSC and ZEN db's. Thanks in advance

I know it's a bit early in the day and my brain isn't co-operating, but I'm at a loss on how to fix that error. Any ideas? I've tried dumping all the DB tables and re-importing them, to no avail.

Just to add to the above - I removed the section in the importer for "products_options_values", and the rest went smoothly. The products in the new cart seem to have all of their attributes (from what I can see, there are about 1500 products!), and in looking at the table on the old cart that I removed, there are about 30 entries. So what is this table for? If I can't figure this out, will omitting it be detrimental to the cart? (prolly a stupid question). Upon googling this to death, I've come across a few statements that "products_options_values" has no auto-increment... could this be causing the problem?

It sound like your source table products_options_values has a id record of 0 already which is not normal.

There are two ways to fix:

1. Delete the 0 record from your products_options_values osc source.
2. Edit import_osc_products.php you will find at line 792

            // Zen Cart requirement Insert ID=0, language=1, name=TEXT, and sort=0 so a text box option name to a product works.
            $import_products_options_values[$i]['products_options_values_id']        = "0";
            $import_products_options_values[$i]['language_id']                       = "1";
            $import_products_options_values[$i]['products_options_values_name']      = "TEXT";
            $import_products_options_values[$i]['products_options_values_sortorder'] = "0";
            // add 1 to import count
            $i++;

Comment out this code.

I have edited the conf file and when I try top run import products (don't want to imports clients) i simply get
