OsCommerce Data Importer - Errors

skipwater:

Look at you orders table in the OSC database with phpMyAdmin around records 8410 up and see if there is bad data in one of the records.

Skip

Is there anything I should look for?

Re: OsCommerce Data Importer - Errors

Also assuming at record 8400, that would probably be around the same actualy sales order number, right?

Re: OsCommerce Data Importer - Errors

Since I do not know exactly what I'm looking for this is what I did in myphpadmin.

in the orders table, it shows 30 records each for each page. So I took 8400 divided by 30 and got 280, which would mean i go to page 280. Just as a precaution I went to page 275 and went through 290 real quick but again, i do not know what to look for.

There are names with ' like O'reilly but that cannot be it since some of the earlier records have names with that symbol.

international addresses but that can't be it.

here is the structure of the orders table that i have

orders_id int(11) No auto_increment Change Drop Primary Index Unique Fulltext

Re: OsCommerce Data Importer - Errors

The bad data would show as graphic symbols within the data.

If you want export the OSC
Orders
Orders Products
Orders Products Attributes
Orders Products Download
Orders Status
Orders Status History
Orders Total
Currencies
to a sql file and zip it. Then PM me where I can download it from and I will look at it for you and convert it to zc.

First thanks for all your help. Secondly i used putty to do a mysqldump and the file is 300megs. I dont know how to do just part of it.
Now in phpmyadim you can back up sections of the database but just the order tables and order history tables are so big myphoadim times out.
I will try it again though

Re: OsCommerce Data Importer - Errors

I apologize, I know you are trying your best to help but I am not allowed to send you the SQL files as they have customer data in them and the bosses won't let me.

I did find these but I do not think they are weird characters

éöíü

What I did was open each SQL table file in NOTEPAD and worked backwards in finding those non standard characters.

I basically did a REPLACE. i.e. replacing all instances of "a" "b" "c" with a non space so it was basically deleted until all alphanumeric characters were removed and those above were left.

But I don't think they are the problem are they?

I went to our old current production server and did a search for those characters and found them. MySQL 4.XX.

Now I went to the new database that I'm trying to import into ZEN and did a search and for some reason MySQL 5.X.X doesn't find them. I think it disregards the weird characters above the letters hence not finding them?

Either way I think I'm looking way too deep into this.

I think maybe there are just too many records for the script to handle.

If there was only a way to log the ERROR!

don't mess with willie bee. i may go crazy on you.

Re: OsCommerce Data Importer - Errors

Because you are having a issue with timeout maybe you can change max_execution_time in php.ini file and at the same time increase the memory size for php.

max_execution_time = 120 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
max_input_time = 120	; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data
memory_limit = 256M      ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (16MB)

That did it.

Quick question though. this was a test run and it was successful but I'll need to do it again as our production server is constantly being updated with new orders, etc. etc. etc. etc.

So if I run this again will it wipe everything out and redo it? Or do I need to manually wipe out the new database stuff.

Thanks again for a great mod!

Yes the mod will delete what is there and replace it with the new data.

Re: OsCommerce Data Importer - Errors

Again thank you for an awesome mod.

But another question since this is somewhat related.

I had three categories set up to where they show on the side, no problem there.

But the three main categories that should be in the middle of the screen in the main page above "what's new for month of january or whatever it is" is gone.

That warning is due to one or more of these:

* Failed to connect to database server.
* Failed to select database.

Thanks but I don't see a selection for that.

I have MAINCAT1, MAINCAT2, MAINCAT3 ON THE SIDE CATEGORIES BOX. BUT ABOVE NEW PRODUCTS FOR MARCH, THEY ARE NOT THERE.

sorry for the off topic. it was there before the database transfer and that is how it was set up on the old site so i figured something got fubared during.

Oh I understand what you're saying but that is not what I'm talking about. I dont' care about the New products .

The MAIN categories that show on the categories box on the left, they should show up on the middle of the screen and under that shows the new products for whatever month.

the main products categories are not showing up. that is what i'm talking about. it happened after the database transfer.
