I do have one question before I try this. I am almost scared to try it because it may erase the product images I have already setup. If I do the above mentioned, will it erase the images I have already setup with image handler?

You are trying to append data to you ZC database?
DO NOT RUN **OsCommerce Data Importer ** IT WILL EMPTY YOUR DATA BASE.
OsCommerce Data Importer is for a one time load of a OsCommerce data base into Zen Cart.

Can you please help me? I am getting so frustrated>.<
When I try to import, customer, order, or product, it always show up Table 'chi_zc1.customers' doesn't exist
Can someone explain to me why this happen and what do I need to do? For my table prefix, I set it to : osC DB Table Prefix -- NO Table Prefix ZenCart DB Table Prefix -- NO Table Prefix
Does it has to do with that? What should I put instead?
Thank you in advance!

Your source database is using chi_zc1 as a prefix you most enter that in the osc table prefix.

OMG!! Thank you so mcuh!! It worked! Everything went GREAT! Thank you for your wonderful wonderful add-on. I literally spent the past 2 days trying to do phpmyadmin, compare the files, but it DOESN'T work. Thank you so much for your quick reply. You are AMAZING.
So here is how I solve the problem (insights for other users who experience the same problem)
problem: For my table prefix, I set it to : osC DB Table Prefix -- NO Table Prefix ZenCart DB Table Prefix -- NO Table Prefix
solution: Skip,thank you so much for your help
go to Filezilla and go to zencart directory>>open includes folder>>open configure.php. There should be line in the document that says define('DB_PREFIX', 'yourprefix'); Copy what is in your prefix in the zencart configure file to the target DB prefix in the import_osc_configure and import_osc_meta_tags files. Leave the source DB prefix blank.
upload,and it works!

Does anyone know if this mod can be altered to also import product weight & dimensions (for the Canada Post shipping module)?
Thanks! :smile:

SkipWaters I do apologize for not reading through 19 pages first of all.
I have an osCommerce store with medium modifications to it. Very little table modifications.
I have a brand new store with no modifications to it and it is vanilla. All I did was create a database.
I know there will be issues in some order histories, etc. etc. It's a given.
My question(s) is and are.
I have my current store and database in another server.
My new store and database is in a new server.
If I run this will it ...
Thank you very much for your time.
don't mess with willie bee. i may go crazy on you.

Also again, looking at the configure file.
$source_db_host = 'localhost'; // localhost (If not localhost you know what needs to be here)
$source_db = 'database'; // OSC database name
$source_db_username = 'username'; // OSC data base user name
$source_db_password = 'password'; // OSC data base user password
$source_db_table_prefix = ''; // Table prefix if used i.e. osc_ otherwise leave empty ''
How do I set it up if the os database is on another server.
I have the production server running with the os commerce database and want to import it into the new server running zen cart and be able to work out the kinks before actually turning off the old production server.
I know the database name user name password, etc. just wondering how do I point it to the old os commerce server?
Thank you.

If you are importing the old data from another server the time between the two servers might be timing out.
If you can move the old database to the new (same server) and see if it still times out.

Is there a way you can modify the script to do a certain amount of rows at a time while importing because the order history is what is timing out I belive. The other two scripts were fine.
it's like over 15000 order history.

Try edit import_osc_orders.php
Around line 304 find
/* start of export of orders */
source_osc();
Change to look like
/* start of export of orders */
set_time_limit(0);
source_osc();
See if that fixes the error or shifts it to import. If import fails add the same set_time_limit(0); to the import code.

/********** start of import of Orders */
set_time_limit(0);
target_zen(); // Get target db info
is what i did is that rigth becuase it still stops at around 8400

anywhere where it said target_zen and target_osc. I put that no time limit code. There were several.

Would it be possible to split these?
Orders
Orders Products
Orders Products Attributes
Orders Products Download
Orders Status
Orders Status History
Orders Total
Currencies
and have them do it all each separatey? Then I can find out which scection is timing out.
I'm sure it is orders status or orders status history. It's about 15K orders.

That is the way it is done now you just can't get pass Exporting Orders.
Try this edit import_osc_orders.php
Around line 304 find
/* start of export of orders */
source_osc();
Change to look like
/* start of export of orders */
ini_set("memory_limit","512M");
set_time_limit(0);
source_osc();
Tell me if this gets a higher record count then 8400

Look at you orders table in the OSC database with phpMyAdmin around records 8410 up and see if there is bad data in one of the records.
